  • Monument Valley is a Navajo Nation Park located on the Utah Arizona border in the Four Corners region. It is a symbol of the west but was mostly unknown until the 1930s, when it started being shown in films.

    C'mon guys...I can't believe you didn't list "ride with the Navajo" as a MUST DO thing. Not only is it a thrilling experience but the support for the Navajo people is much appreciated. And I see they've still got the same mount for one to sit upon at John ford Point as when last I was there.

    We stayed at Cabin #2. My parents took the main bedroom. My wife and I took the bedding off of the bunkbeds and did a lil camping area in the living room lol. Of course we didn't know there was a pull out couch 😂

    What a beautiful place to vacation at. I love Monument Valley. Thank you for this wonderful video. You showed it very well. Question: I have a truck camper, did you say there is a place for campers at the View? Thank you so much.

    Thanks for the Monument Valley Trilogy. It's been on my bucket list for years and is on my September schedule for this year. The question is still "book a tour or not". I drive a Tacoma 4x4 so not too worried about the road, can't be worse than Blacktail Plateau Drive in Yellowstone. I was planning on driving it each of 2 days but will look into a tour to get to the "special" places. You did not mention another famous happening near Monument Valley, Forrest Gump stopped running there. I'm also planning a day trip to the Valley of the Gods just north o Mexican Hat. Keep up the videos and history lessons.

      Larry, thanks for commenting! I wondered a lot about a tour and ultimately did one. See this video, which hasn’t been released yet, for our experience: What we wish we knew before visiting Monument Valley

      Larry, the tours will get you to places you can't drive on your own, regardless of vehicle.

    Thank you. I really enjoy your videos. I am going to Monument Valley early April. Should I book a tour ahead? Or can I just book upon arrival? I am just going on a daytrip and driving in from Flagstaff. I am staying in Page for the night. Thanks in advance for your advice!

      We almost always recommend purchasing tours ahead of time (if you know the tour is something you WANT to do). It would be heartbreaking to finally make it here and not be able to get a tour if you were planning on one. Also, early April is when many Utah schools are on spring break so Monument Valley could be busier than normal.

    Going there soon can't wait. Can you stay on the scenic road when it closes and you are already on it?

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I believe you have to be out by closing time. The last entry is usually 2.5 hours before it closes.

    monument valley is a Navajo Tribal Park, not a national park.

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're correct. We incorrectly called it a Navajo National Park but it is a Navajo Tribal Park. 😃
