  • Embark on a Southwestern adventure with unmissable stops in the Monument Valley area. From the iconic Mexican Hat to the mesmerizing Valley of the Gods, each destination promises awe-inspiring landscapes and cultural richness.
    Explore the captivating wonders of the Monument Valley area by immersing yourself in the unique beauty of Mexican Hat. Named after a distinctive sombrero-shaped rock, this site is a geological marvel that offers stunning views and photo opportunities. Journey to Goosenecks State Park, where the San Juan River meanders through deep canyons, creating breathtaking vistas. The park's dramatic overlooks showcase the intricate twists and turns of the river below, providing a visual feast for nature enthusiasts.
    Venture further to experience the thrill of Moki Dugway, a steep, unpaved switchback road carved into the cliffs of Cedar Mesa. As you ascend this challenging route, panoramic views of the Valley of the Gods unfold. This hidden gem boasts striking red rock formations, resembling a miniature Monument Valley but with fewer crowds, allowing for a more intimate connection with the landscape. Finally, stand in awe at the iconic Monument Valley, renowned for its towering sandstone buttes and mesas. This Navajo Tribal Park is not just a visual spectacle; it's a cultural and historical treasure, showcasing the rich heritage of the Navajo people and their sacred land. Each of these five stops offers a distinct and unforgettable experience, collectively forming a mosaic of natural wonders in the heart of the American Southwest.

      Thanks so much! With Glenn focused on half the week's content, it's hard to get narration from him rrecorded, so sometimes Slim has to step in. Few liked my narration either, and I'm a real human, so... can't please em all. 😅

    I watched your videos last year about these places and last October I visited all these places, amazing.. unfortunately there was a lot of people due to the Eclipse. I will definitely go back some day with more time in my hands.. Thanks for sharing!!

      @@CactusAtlas we actually drove from home ( Southern California) to witness the eclipse, found a good spot by “ The forest Gump hill” that surprisingly was not crowded.. Valley of the Gods was flooded with RVs..

    I love the concept and content of this video. Monument Valley was closed when we drove through in 2020, but I loved all of the other sights. Driving down Moki Dugway was an unexpected thrill!

    • @CactusAtlas
      @CactusAtlas  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I remember the closure. We were keeping an eye on the Navajo Tribal Park's webpage to see when things would open back up for visits and it felt like the longest time. Pushed off plans for any trips to that area for a while. I remember the first encounter with the Moki Dugway too. Unexpected thrill definitely describes it! 😄

      I wish we could have Glenn narrating each video, but to keep up this schedule, I sometimes have to work independently while Glenn's filming or working on other projects. 🤷‍♀️ I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. We're trying to balance the type of videos, though. 😟

      I haven't started the video yet, so don't really know why you brought this up, but must assume it is the AI generated voice? I actually turned it off once I realized that "Slim" was talking. It actually hurts my ears and gives me a headache! I don't know if it is the deep base in the voice or what. I'm not saying that as a cliche. I truly mean that I cannot listen to the voice because it hurts. Maybe I can watch with the volume off? I must add, however, that I love watching this channel's videos when Glenn is doing the talking.

      I feel your pain.
      I have tinnitus from my previous career and this AI voice annoys me for some damn reason.
      The video is still worth watching even on mute of really low volume.

    Wow, someone's trying out for a PBS Documentary1 The Slim touch was great, and the drones shots were something those of us who have visited all of these sights never imagined. Awesome! Truly sad that the Navaho Nation outlaws these types of views. Their way of reprisal? If so, I guess we deserve it.

    • @CactusAtlas
      @CactusAtlas  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow, thanks! We know Slim isn't everyone's flavor but it does make it easy when neither one of us have the time to record narration. 😅

      We might be a little partial for that reason too. 🤫 It's hard. One has the iconic features, and one has the solitude. Luckily, they're so close together.

    I was there last week. They have signs posted everywhere that we can't use drones. It's annoying how the public has such an unfounded hatred of drones when there are such beautiful angles that you can't safely see any other way.
