I'm from Australia and I have been fortunate enough to have driven through this area on 3 separate occasions. The first time was in 1976 and the last about 10 years ago. It is truly a spectacular landscape and an experience I shall never forget. I do hope to do it again in the future. Stay safe everyone.
Thank you for the tour, I am disabled at 67 years old live in kentucky, and, cannot go to these places myself. At least you took me with you! Thanks again. Doc Mike USN
During my 38 year OTR truck driving career I practically begged to take every load out west...I didn't care...Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah...you name it! There's just something about the desert that draws me to it. You would think with 880 miles from east to west, and, the 950 miles north to south in my home state of Texas that'd be enough. Nope! I've been retired from the trucking industry since February of 2015, and, hopefully, soon, I will return to the road once again! Only, this time I'll be living full time in my Class B Roadtrek 190! No bosses, no schedules, no weight cops, no scales, no log books....just me, my music, the open road, and, the smell of the desert wind in my face! I can't wait to see the things I couldn't before when I was behind the windshield of an 18 wheeler! The road is calling me, and, the road is where I will live until the end my life! Thank you for this wonderful video; it brought back a lot of memories! (7:56pmCST Friday 5/4/2018 Houston, Texas)
I retired in 2016 after 44 yrs of driving a truck. I took a 2 wk vacation with my wife right through this country he is showing, I enjoyed it. I hope to make the drive again. I'm from Carlinville, IL
Monument Valley is such a beautiful, lonely, desolate place! I'd had it as my wallpaper on my desktop for so many years, it was surreal to drive through and see the monuments in real life!
Very nice thanks for showing ! i rode that back in '94 on a Mountainbike from Las Vegas to trough Monument valley, painted dessert, Grand canyon and all those other wonderfull places in the States.
there really isn't any place like it ! finally got there a couple of years ago and loved it ! i hope i can spend the rest of my vacations exploring the desert southwest !
This is one of the best videos I've ever seen, and the music is perfect for this trip, thanku very much, this was great, take care and drive safe guys..
Went to the art store today and dropped a load of money for art supplies. Then I came back here for the inspiration to create what my soul cries for. Thanks once again for this burst of energy. Peace
I spent 6 months in NYC and then had an idea to go to the monument valley, after watching 'Forest Gump' again, and this video helped me to make my mind on this trip, and it was the best road trip I have ever had, it worth a visit absolutely!!!!!!!
Nostalgic! I am fortunate enough to be there last year and explored the entire Canyon across all three states Arizona, Utah and Nevada. This was one of the most memorable drive in my lifetime.
Monument valley is a must see God’s gift too us all. It is breathtaking and magnificent. First time I saw it I could not believe a place with just butte’s and Mesa ‘ can be so beautiful. Put it in your bucket list, you will never regret it.
It's nice that somebody took the time to film the entire road. I played some great music and dreamed I was there. Thank you, you made me travel... from Paris, France to the U.S
Delphine Heger I live in Arizona, where Monument Valley is located, and in 38 yrs, have still not been to this place. I'm thinking of a drive up with my sons, for Easter. Also, look up Havasu Falls on TH-cam, another treasure of Arizona. I've been there four times and, I'm telling you, it's a life changing experience. Arizona is amazing.
We drove this same road on our way to Monument Valley last month. What an awesome trip! The icing on the cake was that we ended up getting what amounted to a "personal tour" of Monument Valley with Yvonne; we were the only ones on that tour!!
I have driven from Las Vegas to Phoenix through Zion Canyon via Monument valley. We rented a car on 9 AM and returned on next day's 9 AM. The girl of Hertz was astonished. That journey has been the greatest one in my life.
We visited W-America last year. We've seen beautiful things, a dreamtrip, drove many many Miles but we never got tired of the landscape. It changes a lot. So thank you for this video, it all comes back...
i (from the uk) have made three visits to various places on this trip( las vegas, zion, bryce, monument valley, grand canyon north and south rims etc), and next spring will be visiting them again plus many more including capitol reef, moab, arches, canyonlands, sedona, prescott valley etc....american roads i find your videos inspiring, and have helped me search for and visit some beautiful awe inspiring places in the south west....so thank you friend, i often feel like i am in the car with you
Thank you for that great Video. Everytime I come to the US I try to at least drive some part of the Grand Circle and LOVE it every single time! Especially liked the part when you passed Mexican Hat. Stayed there in 1999 for a night and missed the landmark three times since it is way smaller than I had guessed from the pictures I had seen berfore.
My wife and I have traveled to Monument Valley twice in the last 40 years. Such a beautiful place, to put it mildly. Like the Grand Canyon, everyone needs to see it at least once.
Thank you very much. That road was a highlight of our 2012 US road trip. Going down 163, I was looking left, looking right, looking in the rear view mirror until we saw that "iconic" shot from Forest Gump (and many other movies). One of my favorite shots from the trip.. We also had the same view from our hotel room....Going to download to keep the memory alive.... ....Jim from Australia...
What an amazing place Takes me back to my days in India watching western movies with my Dad God bless America the beautiful the land that gave me Elvis Ricky Nelson Johnny Cash and all my favourite western stars Thank you from Melbourne Australia
Well done ! A great place to finish !! - the Southwest is just a fabulous part of your country and can't wait to go back another time. Really enjoyed your whole tour - good job :-) !
Very beautiful presentation. This is a very beautiful drive no matter what time of day or what time of the day.My husband and I have been on this road many times. We have never been tired of making this choice to use this road to get to our destination.Thank you.
I've been up to Mexican Hat from Kayenta on my motorcycle, spectacular riding area. The Southwest is a great area for riding on 2 wheels! Songs were great choices too!
In 2014 my buddy and i did a roadtrip from the east coast to the west coast (over 6 weeks and 8000 miles!). And we drove that exact same route as in this video too. Monument Valley is amazing! Thanks for the video.
Hi Sheila we did this road trip in 2009 its like lot of things in life be careful not to leave it too late i promise you wont regret it My wife has Ms and i new if we did not get on and do it soon we would not be going at all as her walking was getting worse and i was right as her mobility is now so bad she could not do it now. the whole of that part of the USA is amazing and is a must see. we also did route 66 in 2012 again for the same reason. that's a 3 week adventure starting in Chicago and ending in Santa Monica pier California 3000 miles all the way. you don't need a company to organize these kind of trips book your flights with the airline book your car with a car hire company work out the route with as many sites of interest as possible then book all of your hotels with a free breakfast on that route allowing about 200 miles a day . 200 miles in a day is easy peasy on their roads. use google earth for the route and emails for every thing else
Amazing place. Was there last year. Feel like going back again! I was also in valley of the gods. Amazing place This summer I'm going to arches, Canyonlands, and dead horse point in Utah. Can't wait.
Perfect combination of music and scenery. One of my favourite Dwight Yokum recordings, and my dream travel destination. Every time I watch videos of the early scenes of Easy Rider (where they ride through this area) I imagine myself in their place.
Been trying to persuade my wife to do this trip on our Harley for many years .......thanks to your amazing video, our minds are now made up!! Many thanks !! (from London)
Excellent looking video and an absolutely amazing ride. The scenery was breathtaking and amazing. Loved it .The music was great too. Thanx for posting this.
Thanks very much for the tour. My wife and I have been down this highway and we spent two nights at the Gouldin's Lodge taking their tour of the valley. The video is well done and makes me want to return there again.
I've been through this area about a dozen times in the past 10 years. I put on my favorite song from driving through 'the 4 corners' area, slowed down the video to .25 and enjoyed the route. I JUST FOUND YOUR CHANNEL!!! Great content, and great job of connecting the right music to the video. Love the SW, and will be a loyal viewer from here on. Thanks!
I stayed at The View Hotel with this view. 8:00 That view is facing east and I woke up every morning and sat on my terrace watching the sun rise. I was breathless! Can't wait to go back.
Your videos are awesome and they inspired me to take a road trip through the country. I've watched all the videos and yours tips about "Grand circle tour I-II" were very importants for the sucess of my trip, so I just can say: thank you!! Greetings from Brazil!
Amazing video!! Thank you so much. If I did not have a mortgage and other bills, I would leave my job right NOW and head down 163-South. And, the music was perfect for this video. Again, thank you from one fellow traveler to obviously another.
Thanks for sharing Sir. I've seen this in many Westerns but your driving is terrific as if I'm driving , this is magnificent.Monument Valley is spectacular great country and wonderful people.
I personally traveled this road 8/11/2017 on my way to and back from Colorado, I seen it before but I wanted to see it again one Last time before I died because there's no other place like it in the world. It truly is a record and testament of time.
I'm from Scotland/Hong Kong, my fiancé and I recently had a road trip from Phoenix - Sedona - Grand Canyon - Antelope Canyon - Zion - Vegas. Too bad we didn't have enough to time for Monument Valley. The US South West really is one of the most astonishingly beautiful and captivating places on Earth. We'll be back for this for sure!
You made my trip complete. We did this trip in the exact opposite direction! Heart heavy as a A380, I wish to thank you for all the wonderful grand circle videos, starting from that epic preview video. Ep 13 is a cult classic. All the best.
Episode 7 onwards, videos were perfect blend of top notch landscape and music. Ep 13's combination is unbeatable. It provided a sense of closure for a madness called Hwy 12 and 24!
1,000 miles from nowhere sounds good. I have travelled this road. At night there are more star's than black sky, and not a sound except for the wind. A moonlit nite is something i will never forget. Peace awaits.
Been there, drove that! VERY nicely done, one small quibble. just to the west, past Mexican Hat is Valley of the Gods, Monument Valley's little brother. It's not QUITE as dramatic, but it's also much less crowded and free. When I was out there in 2015 I visited both, Thrifty might not be happy about where I dove its Mustang, car was so dusty dust was blowing out of the AC vents!
I've found placing a black bath towel across my entire dashboard eliminates most of the windshield sun glare. I recommend you give it a try. Marvelous drive! You've saved me the cost of the diesel to drive out from California to enjoy the spectacular scenery!
Every summer for the last 8 years I have taken 3-4 weeks in the summer to drive from Ottawa, Canada to the Southwest USA ... I would like to tell you what part I loved most but I can’t because I loved it all ... super relaxing place to drive ... if I had to pick a favourite drive then I would say White Rim Rd in Canyonlands ... but I will never forget the first time I drove into Death Valley ...Toroweap Overlook was spectacular ... first time through monument valley in off and on thunderstorms at sunset ... don’t forget to include West Texas on your road trips ....Big Bend is super hot in the summer but is so beautiful...nothing beats the scenery of the Southwest ...Yellowstone, Glacier NP are spectacular but nothing beats a relaxing drive through desert country...
I'm from Australia and I have been fortunate enough to have driven through this area on 3 separate occasions. The first time was in 1976 and the last about 10 years ago. I cry everytime I see or think about 163 and this area. So many memories, I need to go back 🥲

No greenery and no vegetation. A wild, eerie , sinister looking place. The landscape so intimidating.

Until today, I still like to call my day 2 drive, which covered UT-12 and UT-24, a scenic overload!
Magnificent! Need to add this to my list of drives to see in person, one day.
I drove 2000 miles across CA NM AZ UT CO last August, just a wonderful trip I'll never forget. I'll be back !
truly spectacular... have to get back there one day...a great job by the way.
One of the very best videos I've ever seen!
I've found placing a black bath towel across my entire dashboard eliminates most of the windshield sun glare. I recommend you give it a try. Marvelous drive! You've saved me the cost of the diesel to drive out from California to enjoy the spectacular scenery!
Black fabric on the dashboard was exactly what I did for this video ;)
Thanks for the validation!
Great view plus amazing music combinations makes me relax from long hours of work, reminds me of “ looking for love at the wrong place “
En effet, le type qui a conçu cette route est simplement génial.
Beau montage vidéo.
