This was a nice informational video. Great job, you seem like a good driver. I personally am a taxi driver-- believe it or not it can be a lucrative business depending on which town you're driving in and which company you work for. I want to leave a few simple tips for taxi drivers here who may have come looking for more general driver tips, because it's very different from driving Uber/Lyft. This is literally the process which helps me to make about $70/hr after expenses. This is assuming that you're working for a company with good dispatch, and some of these may not be applicable to you depending on your companies policies, btw: 1. Don't waste time driving, unless you're far away from a hotspot. The more you drive, the more you spend in gas. If you drop of near a hotspot, park. If you drop off far away from a hotspot-- close some of that distance, you want to be within a 7 minute ride from said hotspot-- then park. You don't want to drive too much cause you never know if you'll get a pickup back the way you came, but you also don't want to be too far away. 2. Contact your customers! If your company doesn't send you the customers #, they need to start doing so. A quick text and/or phone call to give your customers your ETA can make all the difference-- it makes them happy & comfortable they'll be picked up, and it greatly reduces the chances you'll get stood up/no showed. Make sure you also contact your customers the moment you've arrived so that you're not wasting your time if they're simply waiting for your notice. 3. Don't rely on hotels/casinos/airports, and ALWAYS give out your name/number! Many taxi drivers will simply line up outside of a hotel or casino and wait for riders to come to them. This is the difference between making minimum wage and making a killing! Your best friend is dispatch and personal customers. ALWAYS give your number to your customers and ask them to call you back when they're ready, even on the shorter trips. This can often DOUBLE the amount of fares you get in a single day. It may not seem like a big deal but every trip adds up! 4. Be polite, respectful, and helpful. Be lighthearted. Customers will appreciate you/feel more comfortable with you, and it will make your experience far more pleasant. Also remember that drunk customers, while annoying, are just trying to have a good time and they might need you to assist them with things like finding their destination, for instance. 5. Don't be greedy. Wait a few seconds before firing up the meter-- customers ALWAYS notice this. Also, don't be afraid to round down to the nearest dollar-- don't be overly concerned with that extra 50 cents as there's a good chance they're going to tip you anyway. And most importantly: offer discounts on longer fares! This will get customers to call you back almost exclusively- meaning more longer trips and better tips as well. Recurring customers tip better than one time customers. And finally: take the shortest routes. Taxi meters run by distance when moving, but time while stopped. Take the shortest, most efficient route, otherwise you'll unknowingly overcharge your customers. Try to avoid highways unless you are dodging traffic jams-- they are generally the fastest, but not always the shortest routes. 6. Match prices. If a customer took an Uber/Lyft and paid way less for the ride, you risk losing that customer indefinitely. Losing a few dollars is far better than losing a potential recurring customer. I have regular customers that call me several times a week, which makes me hundreds of dollars a week- and many of them were gained by working out fairer prices or flat rates. 7. Never accept out of town trips, or trips over $40 from shady strangers without getting the money up front. Similarly, if a customer seems shady, there's a good chance they are. Don't risk your neck or your money for these people-- it's better to awkwardly ask for the pay up front than it is to get robbed/ripped off. Sometimes it's okay to void this rule if you're taking them to populated/high security areas (such as casinos or airports), however. Use your judgment. And that's about it. If you have questions, or concerns about the rules, please feel free to ask. I'm an experienced driver that's dealt with 100s of different situations and scenarios.

I agree. I did Uber back in 2014 into 2015. It was getting very popular at the time, and so many people started driving that I started to earn less and less money as it seemed to become saturated with drivers. Did the math, and it wasn't worth it to continue. Now I am going to try Lyft as I don't have a job at the moment. So hopefully Lyft is worth doing. Awesome video! You shared a ton of useful information. You spoke fast and were very clear and specific. I would guess you scripted it first which was a great idea.
Thank you very much! I don't script, but I do outline. I find that specific scripting results in longer recording time cause I trip over my words. Outlining means I work the wording as I go which makes it much easier to sound natural. :)
Oh wow! I came to this video by chance. I'm not an uber or lyft driver so a lot of the information here is unapplicable to me. HOWEVER, I am so impressed by this. It almost seems academic. I have saved this video and sharing with all the people I know who are Uber drivers. Very very well done! This could never be irrelevant. Well done!!!
I wish so many other TH-camrs thought 10 minute videos were considered long. As a potential future Uber driver, I really enjoyed your video and learned lots.
Your , 9:58 minutes video ranks #1. You talked clear, fast & to the point, one no wasted words. More importantly, you educated me and answered the questions I had and questions I should of had. Thank You.

Lots of great information here! One error for the tax part, though. As an accountant, I can tell you that you cannot deduct food you eat on the job. You CAN deduct snacks for passengers, but as Lyft/Uber does not require you to take trips during lunch hours, it's considered voluntary and not a business expense. And even when it is considered a deductible expense (such as entertaining clients), you're only allowed to deduct 50% of it.
Great tips for beginners. I would also add that you should know when is the best time to drive for your market. Some things are market specific but generally busy times are the morning work rush, the evening work rush and between 10.00 pm and 2.00 am on Friday and the weekends.
Great video! Lots of information is a short amount of time. I started driving for Uber/Lyft a couple days after this video was published. I wish I had watched it back then instead of a year later. I've learned a lot of stuff "the hard way." All in all, it was a great first year. 2019 started extremely well with a very profitable New Year's Eve. I just bought a new vehicle and am a bit apprehensive about using it for rideshare, but we'll see. I'm sure my passengers will love riding in a brand new vehicle. Thanks again for this video!
Thanks for the insurance advice I called my insurance company and added it to my policy and 3 days later I got in an accident. If it wasn't for your advice I wouldn't have thought of doing that. Thanks 😁
Girl - you're the bomb! Thanks to you, I will call my insurance company to let them know that I'm driving! My husband told me not to, but I had a VERY strong instinct that I was supposed to. You are really helpful and smart and will succeed at WHATEVER you do! Good luck!
Actually in the case of Uber, its passenger app lies about where other uber cars are. Uber even says so in its fine print. There was some fuss about this two or three years back. Look it up.
For kicks, you can test this yourself. Go to an intersection where there are lots of uber cars (according to the app), and try to spot them IRL. You'll see phantom uber cars rolling around (on the app), while the actual roadways around you are bare.
I have been doing lyft for about a year its not fun anymore I have been getting way to many complaints recently about minor and crappy stuff I be liike really smh I am just doing it till my job I am waiting for starts.
I just started lyft 4 weeks ago (uber 2 years ago) and yes they do charge lost item fees which is 15 dollars. I was able to get one the last 2 weekends. Great information as far as a refresher goes. You have a happy New Year and I hope you are driving on New Year's eve because I know I will lol ;) :*
Oh, fantastic!! I have never had a Lyft passenger leave something behind, interestingly, so I didn't realize and I'd never heard it mentioned! I wish TH-cam still had annotations so I could put that in the video retroactively! And thank you! Have a lovely New Year's! I'm not sure yet if I will be, but we'll see! :)
@@gabrielreyes8476 I drive lyft in Vegas and had to get a sole proprietor business license from the state and also get a permit from the county. Lyft is my own business don't see how it's any different from you in a taxi.
@@huggy68 So. You still are not PUC licensed, nor are you regulated. You use a personal vehicle, not a fleet maintained one. You are not a taxi. No better than grabbing a ride from the neighbor down the street. You are not fingerprinted and properly background checked. In my opinion, the difference is glaring and vast. You don't seem to understand that lyft and uber were grossly conceived as rideshare, not taxis. No, they most certainly are not the same thing. There isn't enough money in the world to pay me to ever get into a lyft or uber. Give me a real taxi any day.
Can I just say thank you so much for getting to the point so quickly....I'm actually waiting for a Lyft driver to come get me for me to go get a rental my first time today so thank you
@@mindsetinvestors1579 so sorry I'm just now seeing this....my first week went pretty good I ended up starting on the week that Edc concerts were here in Orlando...so that was wow lol but actually fun and no vomit Yay lol ..... My second week was the classics - I was hesitant to do because so many people in the Lyft Uber Facebook group - we're having a lot of negative things to say about it but it was really good for me nothing bad happened or dangerous...... My third week very recently actually scared me and made me wish I carried .... A guy kept touching my shoulder and leaning forward kind of talking in my ear which was really gross..... He was drunk and got nasty vulgar...I gave him some warnings and he started calling me names and verbal threatening me....he was like "Bitch just drive where the phone say and I can do what I want " so I pulled over and told him to get out or I'd call the cops and I just cancelled his ride.... But it was a really dark road that seem like far away from people...and physically he could of did anything to me ..I fight but he was a grown big ass drunk man ...I like driving at night less traffic and I'm done with all my house chores and done with my day job but learning how dangerous some idiots can be...was a little nerve-wracking I didn't even want to go out anymore after but there was no way I'm going to let some jerk ruin my extra $
Jahida 360 That is so scary, I am so sorry that happened to you! I hope you never have a situation like that again! I’m really glad my videos have been helpful! :)
So funny! A buddy of mine just showed me this phone mount yesterday and I searched everywhere and couldn’t find it. Watched your video and you had a link to it! Thank you.
Lyfts deductible in Arizona is $2500.00! And they will try to get your insurance to pay for it first. If you don't have rideshare coverage your inurance provider will likely drop you. Look out for yourself. Lyft does not care about you! I was a full time driver with a rating of 4.96 and when I could not afford the deductible they told me tough luck. I drove for an entire week after having my exhaust damaged by something on the highway while transporting a passenger and without warning I was deactivated. Because I reported the damage, which doesn't affect the safe operation of the vehicle, I was deactivated. Even though all I did was report it within 24 hours of the incident like they require. When I signed up I was told that if something happens Lyft would take care of it. This is the end result of Lyft taking care of things.
Damn woman!!!! Great video.... I thought just another long video with poorly backed up or researched opinions..... I was wrong.... You definitely did what you said you indicated you were going to do and more.... thank you. that's how videos should be!!!!
I don’t know how I came across your video, and I have no intention of driving for Uber or Lyft (or anyone), but I was riveted and watched the whole thing. I’m going to check out the rest of your channel now and hit that sub button. I didn’t think you were talking too fast; you packed a lot of information into 10 minutes and gave me great insight into what you drivers deal with. I have friends who are interested in the business, so I’ll be sharing this with them.
Wow, thank you so much and welcome to my channel! I appreciate the well thought out and pleasant comment and feel free to tell your friends to reach out via email if they need anything! :D
If you have a concealed carry permit, I would carry a weapon. Saving your own life is more important than Uber firing you. I go by the saying. I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
Paul Bottoms God I hate this topic, people are so intense about it. People who don’t carry never seem to try to get others not to carry but for some reason people who do are always intense about “you should carry.”
@@munchkym I've been robbed before at gun point. It is pretty intense. They didnt shoot me but could have obviously. They just punched me in the face a dozen times and then hit me on the top of the head with something hard (not the gun). Many people who carry have been victims and that's why they're intense about encouraging others to carry protection.
as long as you have the permit and you don't let the passenger know it is probably something that you hopefully don't need but is there if you do need it. In which case being fired is not a concern in that moment.
I've learned more from you in 25 minutes than from looking at webpages for about 2 hours. Thanks munchkym. Been driving for about three months, and not thrilled with it. Your advice will be profitable for me.
I don't even drive or ride Uber or anything like that but I just love this girl in her personality. I think she's really fun to watch I don't care what she's talking about LOL

You have no idea how much that skill set is missing in media , and how many Peeps you make purr as we get to listen to your incredible soliloquy !! your annunciation of the Empirical English Language is a super TALENT !!! Thanks for letting us benefit from it.
Uber, Lyft etc are the ACTUAL BUSINESS OWNERS. Not sure why drivers are viewed as business owners. When a company can deactivate your work account/app...who's the real owner folks :-)
@@AllStarzServices difference here is that while you abide to the contract, a few disgruntled or mean customers can shut you down for good. If you had your own business that would not be possible.
You forgot don't pick up anyone under 18 years old. You reserve the right to card someone who you think is underage and refuse the ride if they are. No kids allowed in my car without a parent present.
That's a great one! I'm not sure I would personally card someone, but I definitely would ask them in a way that seems innocuous so I'm more likely to get a real response. If I still didn't believe, I'd ask the year they were born. Haha
I got Lyft canceled without notice. I hate that. Hey Kym. Been awhile since I've seen you, but glad your still driving like a non maniac....it's so so so cool to C U again. Keep driving....
Seen this advice from other TH-cam drivers- one of the best reasons for signing up for both is that if one, usually uber, decides to deactivate you pending investigation for whatever reason, you can keep driving for the other company. So you keep your options open and are not tied down to one company.
HUUUUGE congrats on a fantastic "rapidfire" video munchkym. I LLLOVED it !!!!! Lots of great info that I will DEF use too. Oh and ummmm CONGRATS, ya just earned another "sub", "note" and ":like" I'm a fulltime driver up here in Ottawa Ontario Canada. I also teach fitness classes in between my day. After class I shower up, then get back behind the wheel and go !
I've learned to set my perimeters because when I'm driving, I'm using Bluetooth for directions most often, and then you get a long ride, like 100 miles or more, and not realizing how far the ride is!
Uber where almost 33 percent of fare goes to Uber company , 10 percent is GST , on rest of 57% you have to pay tax on it , which leaves a driver with 40 dollars from a 100 dollars taking ... in that 40 dollars he has to maintain his car too ... I don’t know how Uber drivers can survive in long term on this much work and such a crap income.
munchkym you are probably losing some very valuable deductions I have compare them with my odometer and they are all wrong from what I have tested yours might be correct , everyone check your mileage and compare them to the apps. I've been self-employed most of my life and this deduction is substantial and very important don't let an app tell you how many miles you've drove when you've gone more
Jen jabba, probably correct, it's in the company's interest to short change you wherever possible, and most driver's wont keep their own logs because it's extra work.
Are you only counting miles driven while the rider is actually in the car? Those are the only miles you can actually deduct and the only miles uber accounts for.
Child Of God noooooo. If you have app on and are in Driver Mode, those miles are tax deductible. Mikes to get pax, riding around waiting for ‘ping’, all tax deductible. You are working when the app is on. Even Social Security who HATES tax deductions will tell you that. That’s why many drivers start the day with the app on while sitting in their living room and keep it on, on your way home. You may get pinged and get another, or a few more runs.
I mean, its good side money... its not something to make a main income from. Its not really as bad as what she may make it seem like in this video. You will put a lot of miles on your car and spend a good chunk on gas... but other than that its not really that bad.
If everybody talked like this i would be so much happier.. maybe the first useful lyft/uber video that was actually helpful.. top marks munchkym u earned my subscription👍

Nice video. I drove for Lyft a few years back, and these are all things I wish I'd known when I started. I did alright at it, but your tips are definitely good ones!
Basically, don't do this job. It's not profitable and it's unnecessary stress. From experience, passengers do not consider the welfare of their driver. They have goals and the driver is just there to serve them. Don't do this job if you want self-respect.
Very informative video, I'm not a driver, I actually hate driving and take Lyft occasionally...but this video was good from understanding from the drivers point of view :) and love the fact you get to the point...
Hi Kym! I literally just started driving uber. Your videos are extremely helpful so... thanks! Haha I am trying to retroactively add your referral code. Good luck and stay safe!
Steve BONTRAGER Thank you for subscribing! TH-cam has a feature that allows you to slow down a video if you feel it’s too fast, you can find it in the same video settings as closed captioning. This may come in handy! :)
awesome but heard of people hacking Lyft/Uber? I wanna know more because I'm tired of being taken by jerks using hacking into our system to get more rides.
I was thinking of being a driver. But it seems like I would be putting a lot of wear and tear on my car. And in the end, I'll have to use up all my profits to buy a newer car every few years.
Lyft does have a built-in GPS but it sucks so use Waze. Lyft also charges the passengers $15 for returning items. Both of these things are affected by the market you drive in. Neither platform is a way to make a living. Even driving 12+ hours/day, you still only scrape by.
I see lots of complaints, but it is much more worthwhile with our new software that allows u to make 100% of the fare and tips. You can text "100" to 904-600-3557 to get automated info about this new way to rideshare and make a lot more money with the provider.
The customer is perfectly matched with Uber - dishonest and cheap. Here's people who are service industry workers making hundreds a day off TIPS who don't give my son, a driver, a single $1. Uber cheats on everything from sign-on bonuses to how much a rider is paying. No wonder they've lost every lawsuit. The honchos should be imprisoned.
Wow, how much coffee did you have this morning? Talk about how the business plan for an Uber driver is approximately $10/hour when you consider the 25% Uber fee, the gas, the insurance, the depreciation of your car, assuming that you drive 10 hours a day...is it worth it?

Thank you very much! I don't script, but I do outline. I find that specific scripting results in longer recording time cause I trip over my words. Outlining means I work the wording as I go which makes it much easier to sound natural. :)
Oh wow! I came to this video by chance. I'm not an uber or lyft driver so a lot of the information here is unapplicable to me. HOWEVER, I am so impressed by this. It almost seems academic. I have saved this video and sharing with all the people I know who are Uber drivers. Very very well done! This could never be irrelevant. Well done!!!
Seye Kuyinu Wow, thank you so much for your kind words! I’m really glad it was valuable!
I wish so many other TH-camrs thought 10 minute videos were considered long. As a potential future Uber driver, I really enjoyed your video and learned lots.
Happy to help! I definitely prefer short videos. Anything over 3 minutes is long for me. 10 minutes is unheard of for my channels! Haha

Yes, definitely! I've learned a lot more since I made this video haha
You forgot that it is important to ask the passenger if they are looking for any cocaine and that you know a guy
marijaunnaz Haha uhhh
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ok, that's funny 🏆
HAHAHAH
Cant you tell, she is " that guy " or his girlfriend.
Great tips for beginners. I would also add that you should know when is the best time to drive for your market. Some things are market specific but generally busy times are the morning work rush, the evening work rush and between 10.00 pm and 2.00 am on Friday and the weekends.
Definitely yes! Getting to know your market is natural, but it's super important!
MYohMY 76 Thank you! And I’m glad you found it eventually! I’d be skeptical about a new vehicle for rideshare as well, especially if brand new.
You can be deactivated for not accepting rides
This just happened to me. Lyft does not care about their drivers.
That sucks so much, I'm so sorry. :(
if youre tired, just swipe it off
Thanks for the insurance advice I called my insurance company and added it to my policy and 3 days later I got in an accident. If it wasn't for your advice I wouldn't have thought of doing that. Thanks 😁
This without a doubt is the most truthful vedio on uber.(i'm an uber driver).
Thank you!!
My god
Finally a great video
Direct and to the point
Good for you
I’m starting soon and will use your videos as training
Tim Lee Thank you! I’m so glad they are helpful! :)
Girl - you're the bomb! Thanks to you, I will call my insurance company to let them know that I'm driving! My husband told me not to, but I had a VERY strong instinct that I was supposed to. You are really helpful and smart and will succeed at WHATEVER you do! Good luck!
I'm so glad it was so helpful!! Good luck and I hope your insurance company gives you a good rate!
I never thought to download the passenger app to see where other drivers are at. Great tip. Thank you
Go glad it was helpful! Drive safe!
A passenger gave me that tip lol
Shady as hell that they don't just show you drivers where the others are so you can plan and properly manage YOUR business.
this is by far the best video for new drivers, right to the point, fast well explained with few word every point.
Thank you so much!
I have been doing lyft for about a year its not fun anymore I have been getting way to many complaints recently about minor and crappy stuff I be liike really smh I am just doing it till my job I am waiting for starts.
johnied850914 Yeah, I understand. It can take a toll.
What kinds of complaints if you don't mind me asking? Just curious.
You can quit anytime Uber don’t give a damn about their drivers
Noori Nut Wow, I had no idea! Amazing!
munchkym XD
hard to give a damn about a million different people
Uber sucks so I quit driving for them
Good! Hope the door didn't hit you in the a$$ on the last trip. The less light-weights the better.
2/3 the way thru your video and the density of the information is better than gold. Great work! Now get yourself an EV and really make the money.
TRY to HELP you Thank you so much! I actually have a hybrid so I’m halfway there :P
This is PERFECT. I am female Uber driver just starting and you are answering every single question I have. Thank you so much.
joe smith I’m so happy it was helpful! Feel free to ask questions! :)
Be a real taxi driver, not another leech who thinks they can do this just because you have a car abd and a license
@@gabrielreyes8476
Wow! That's not nice. What if you live in a little town that hasn't any cab service?
Can I just say thank you so much for getting to the point so quickly....I'm actually waiting for a Lyft driver to come get me for me to go get a rental my first time today so thank you
Jahida 360
How did it go for you?
I'm so glad you appreciate it! I hate drawn out videos so I try to make condensed ones! :)
@@munchkym no I loved your videos so so much good info and I'm so appreciative of them 💛💛💛💛💛
Jahida 360 That is so scary, I am so sorry that happened to you! I hope you never have a situation like that again!
I’m really glad my videos have been helpful! :)
So funny! A buddy of mine just showed me this phone mount yesterday and I searched everywhere and couldn’t find it. Watched your video and you had a link to it! Thank you.
That's great! I seriously love it!
Josh Fawkes Yeah, not a surprise at all. Unfortunately, drivers are quite expendable.
There is always fresh meat
That's why you maintain a low deductible plan through your own insurance company and get the rideshare plan with them as well.
Damn woman!!!! Great video.... I thought just another long video with poorly backed up or researched opinions..... I was wrong.... You definitely did what you said you indicated you were going to do and more.... thank you. that's how videos should be!!!!
Thank you so much, you're so kind!!
Earned yourself a subscriber. Very polite and wise words in this video, you are part a dying breed my friend.
Thank you so much!
You packed a lot of info into that few minutes!
Kevin Aylward Thank you! I try to be as concise as possible!
Part of it is that she edited out a lot of pauses in between sentences to make the video shorter.
Jeff Brown Yup, that’s exactly what happens. No need for pauses, what a waste of time!
Very articulate & beautifully spoken
Thank youu!
Thank you for talking quickly! I’m a busy woman, and this was everything.
I'm so glad it was helpful! I too prefer fast videos!
@@munchkym
I've been robbed before at gun point.
You rock. Believe me, the job often seems life threatening... and we're doing it for peanuts.
ALL women should carry. Everywhere.
I've learned more from you in 25 minutes than from looking at webpages for about 2 hours. Thanks munchkym. Been driving for about three months, and not thrilled with it. Your advice will be profitable for me.
I'm so glad it's been helpful! I hope your driving experience improves. :)
I don't even drive or ride Uber or anything like that but I just love this girl in her personality. I think she's really fun to watch I don't care what she's talking about LOL
Something Clever Thank you so much! I am probably going to make videos of other topics in the future, so you can look out for those. :)
Must be really hard up.
amazing video, i like the shortcuts to the next clue, no time wasted. lots of great tips too. thanks!
Thank you so much, I'm so glad it was valuable!
Hey I've been doing as much homework on this as possible. Just wanted to say this video is extremely helpful!
Jeremy Hatfield Thank you and I’m so glad it was! :)
I wish I could see ur video when I started this crazy ass job,
You are one of a kind :)
Thank you! Sorry my info came a bit late, but hopefully it was still helpful!
I'm not even an Uber or Lyft driver, but this was so informative and interesting I didn't click out
I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
The VERY BEST thing about you is your excellent ability to speak SWIFTLY!!!!!!! You have no idea how much that skill set is missing in media , and how many Peeps you make purr as we get to listen to your incredible soliloquy !! your annunciation of the Empirical English Language is a super TALENT !!! Thanks for letting us benefit from it.
Lia Parma Haha this is such a fun comment, thank you! Very poetic! :)
Uber, Lyft etc are the ACTUAL BUSINESS OWNERS. Not sure why drivers are viewed as business owners. When a company can deactivate your work account/app...who's the real owner folks :-)
We agree to their contract.
If we don't abide by it.. what do you honestly expect them to do? 🤨
For real! But that's the current laws.
@@AllStarzServices difference here is that while you abide to the contract, a few disgruntled or mean customers can shut you down for good. If you had your own business that would not be possible.
Holy Crap - the entire internet could learn from you! Great job! A TON of information quickly and effectively communicated. Thanks!
What a sweet comment, thank you so much!
I despise the general public and will probably never drive but I found this informative as hell.
ucgrad Hahahahhha love it!
as you should
You forgot don't pick up anyone under 18 years old.
Haha
ok so how will you l know their 18? are you going to ask for thier ID?
merkflip We are allowed to ask for ID if we feel they’re under 18, yesz
munchkym and if they say they dont have it?
merkflip Then what I just said; I ask year they were born and if they can’t give me a quick answer, no ride.
I got Lyft canceled without notice. I hate that. Hey Kym. Been awhile since I've seen you, but glad your still driving like a non maniac....it's so so so cool to C U again. Keep driving....
I hate that too. And thanks!

change video speed to .75 for best audio experience.
M How Honestly, yes for lots of people haha
1.25 for a more amusing audio experience.
I did not know that u could do this. thank you, but I will be using it instead on slow talk because I do not have patience. 😁
lol
When I first started the video 1.25 is what I thought it was at.
Seen this advice from other TH-cam drivers- one of the best reasons for signing up for both is that if one, usually uber, decides to deactivate you pending investigation for whatever reason, you can keep driving for the other company. So you keep your options open and are not tied down to one company.
Garvin Gray Yeah, definitely! I prefer driving for both.
munchkym Woohoo I got a reply :) oh btw as I was this video on TV, I did not buckle up, my bad ;)
Garvin Gray Haha safety first! 😁
Garvin Gray grab a cab permit too!
HUUUUGE congrats on a fantastic "rapidfire" video munchkym. I LLLOVED it !!!!! Lots of great info that I will DEF use too.
Oh and ummmm CONGRATS, ya just earned another "sub", "note" and ":like"
I'm a fulltime driver up here in Ottawa Ontario Canada. I also teach fitness classes in between my day. After class I shower up, then get back behind the wheel and go !
Aww, thank you very much! And that's freaking awesome! As a fitness instructor, you might find my most recent video interesting.... haha
If she is TALKING TOO FAST for you, maybe you're not LISTENING FAST ENOUGH! 😆🤣😁❤️
TH-cam videos can always be paused. Spacebar to stop and go.
Not everyone can process information at the same speed, but that's why I put accurate captions and TH-cam allows videos to be slowed down :)
This was amazing!! Also something about your voice is soothing, sound like a flight attendant lol
Kenita Renee Haha thank you, you’re so kind!
Yeah, I don't recommend it long term.
Do not rely on app to track miles! They are often wrong. Keep a riding log.
Jen Jabba It will be much more accurate than me writing it down, tbh haha
munchkym you are probably losing some very valuable deductions I have compare them with my odometer and they are all wrong from what I have tested yours might be correct , everyone check your mileage and compare them to the apps.
I love how intelligent you are. You're speaking so fast but saying such important things, it's refreshing. :)

yeah this vid just totally convinced me not to do Uber or Lyft
It's not for everyone. Glad you could make an informed decision! :)

Totally agree. After watching a few similar videos, I know this isn't for me. Sounds like you'll run into every one of the issues she brought up.
I mean, its good side money... its not something to make a main income from. Its not really as bad as what she may make it seem like in this video. You will put a lot of miles on your car and spend a good chunk on gas... but other than that its not really that bad.
How so?
😍😍😍😍😍 your videos.

thank you very much Munchym :) i was considering my quitting my primary job for lyft, but after this, i will keep my job, thanks again.. be safe..

munchkym how soon should I get the small business license?
vincent reyes You don’t really need a small business license, in my opinion.
munchkym sweet thank you so much :) you rock. Be safe driving :)
Well i was thinking about doing this then you said i cant carry my firearm while working for them and thats just not gonna work for me

You lose money driving for uber and lift. They both suck
Joseph Bader Definitely depends on a lot of factors but they certainly are not always profitable and the companies are not looking out for drivers.
driving for lyft/uber is converting your equity in your car into cash for the day. Works for people who can't do math
Why do they both suck?
Whew! No need to watch any other Uber/Lyft video! Nice job of condensing lots of info into a few minutes.

Terri Dominguez Totally reasonable! And thanks!
Basically, don't do this job. It's not profitable and it's unnecessary stress. From experience, passengers do not consider the welfare of their driver. They have goals and the driver is just there to serve them. Don't do this job if you want self-respect.
To each their own! :)

Jacob Tran It’s not for everyone!
awesome but heard of people hacking Lyft/Uber? I wanna know more because I'm tired of being taken by jerks using hacking into our system to get more rides.
I was thinking of being a driver. But it seems like I would be putting a lot of wear and tear on my car. And in the end, I'll have to use up all my profits to buy a newer car every few years.
Lyft does have a built-in GPS but it sucks so use Waze. Lyft also charges the passengers $15 for returning items. Both of these things are affected by the market you drive in. Neither platform is a way to make a living. Even driving 12+ hours/day, you still only scrape by.
Whether it’s a way to make a living is also affected by the market you live in.
Too much potential crap with giving rides for money, I’ll stick with pizza delivery
Follow your heart.
The honchos should be imprisoned.
jackson winters It definitely could use a lot of improvements!
Are you really bitching about waitresses not paying tips to drivers?
Wow, how much coffee did you have this morning? Talk about how the business plan for an Uber driver is approximately $10/hour when you consider the 25% Uber fee, the gas, the insurance, the depreciation of your car, assuming that you drive 10 hours a day...is it worth it?
Yes
I didn't have any coffee, I merely edited my video to be quick. Whether it's worth it is a personal decision.
UBER/LYFT is not really profitable, but folks don't know that until doing it for a few months
It can still be profitable. Depends on many factors.
OMG speed racer!!!! 😱
You can slow down the video in settings and there are accurate captions. Hope that helps!
I know is 2020 already but your videos is probably by far the best one!👍🇺🇸❤️
