    From my experience, if client ask you to extend the target destination, like wait for them and bring them back, request they update their destination, otherwise you risk that later the client will report you for being overcharged and you will be the one being blamed for your good will! Happen to me. Client reported that I did not end the trip at the destination, when it was her request! And I ended with lower rating and my earning for the trip was taken away! But since I never thought someone could scam me like this, I did not ask her to update the location and then I did not have any proof, when the client lied in order to get $ back and have a free ride!

    • @MPEG4User
      @MPEG4User 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah like that's the 1st sign you're gonna get scammed and they will give a bad rating to prove their point. Be polite but if being scammed call UBER'S support BEFORE you close the trip or uber can't help. I save screenshots too for disputes with the help app!

      That's lame on the riders part Ivana. I generally have good experiences but have had a few that have tried to cheat the system.

    • @TeddyT6
      @TeddyT6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is why I have a dash cam and I record every ride. Then I have proof if they lie. This became my policy after I worked one weekend did two rides, and one of the two made a bogus complaint saying I was driving under the influence. I didn't record that day and had zero proof. Luckily I had a great track record and was able to convince them that I was not under the influence of anything except making money. Now I record each and every ride so the claims can be resolved quicker without any doubts!!

      Open two front windows and one rear window, set same height. This applies 2:1 air flow ratio that inner pressure is strong enough to against the air flowing speed so that the air won't blow.

    I’ve been driving for 3 years and I endorse every tip presented here. Very good advice. Two minor issues: 1. After dropping someone off there are times when you’ll know that you’re never going to get a ride where you are and have to relocate. Get to know your hot and cold spots. 2. If you only drive for the money, get another gig. Like any job, you have to like or at least tolerate it or you’ll stink at it. I need my music. I’ll turn it down but don’t ask me to turn it off. Keep your tip, give me a bad review. I don’t care. (I’ve never gotten anything but 5 stars).

    Also, yesterday I was pinged for a ride. All the sudden my messages start beeping to call the rider. I call and they say they are with Uber and that this is to inform me that Uber will be shutting down for two weeks starting April 24. They had me cancel the ride. Then told me I would be getting $500 to compensate for this. I am pretty good at sniffing out a scam but they almost got me. We got the point where I was going to enter a special 16 digit reward code into my bank account info when I finally got it. Please tell everyone to watch out for this. The person sounded very authoritative and knew their way around the Uber Driver app.

    A healthier, cheaper alternative to energy drinks (ESPECIALLY if you are combining coffee either before or after [very bad idea]) is to just add an expresso or double expresso shot to your coffee.
    Alot of people don't realize you have this wonderful option when ordering coffee. Do this instead of energy drinks. Those things will kill you!

My passengers always got so excited to see me & said they prefer me over the other drivers because im such a joy to be around! They alway gave me a tip but the other drivers didn't get tips from the passengers because they didn't treat them well.... im not usually a prideful person but that i do take pride in that!

    Rental car for uber / lyft through their program is a bad idea if you want to make money. I wrecked my Escalade in 2017 and was looking for another vehicle. In the meantime, I got hooked up with the Uber rental car program through Hertz, and got a really nice 2016 Dodge charger to drive around. It cost me about $250 / week. I did just enough Uber with the car to pay for the rental fees and then stopped. I did this and kept the car for 3 months while I was saving for a down payment / looking for another vehicle. It was great and it was kind of like driving a car for free for 3 months. And the rental came with insurance already in the price. But every 28 days you had to go back into the Hertz office and re-sign a rental contract (they are only good for 28 days). But other than that, it worked out great. I would not recommend it though if you are just getting one to try and make some money. You have to work off the $200-$250 / week rental fee before you even make a dime. If your ok with that, than go for it. It's not a bad program.

      @@CelestialChef90 Oh let me clarify that, I pick up Walmart employees in the early morning hours and those are usually good because most employees live 10-20 miles away, but regular rides Nope 3 miles and a trunk full of groceries, typically not worth your time

    Beautiful area and great advice! Yes, please clean your car when doing Uber

    • @programmerPo
      @programmerPo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually clean compact cars are full-time drivers. Consider to tip them reasonably as they may need the extra money for enjoying life with families.
      Cars with some interior dirt (especially of exterior colors other than black, white, silver) may be drivers doing commutes; usually much fewer riders have been in the cars so that it is safer during Covid-19. So, unless you are with very important people, don't mind acceptable dirty cars.

    Thanks Dylan! Regarding the Lyft app, I’ve had several instances where a rider try’s to add a stop but is not able to or if they do the navigation gets messed up. With Uber, yesterday in particular, after accepting a ride the navigation sent me 10 miles the opposite direction. Have you experienced any of these issues? I did call Uber about the navigation issue and it was brushed off to technical difficulties- quite disappointing. I haven’t called Lyft because there is no support number to call. What do you suggest?

    • @TheRideshareHub
      @TheRideshareHub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When you're doing Uber Pool or Lyft Shared the passenger usually isn't allowed to change their destination, so that might be it. If they are really unable to change the destination then I'd just do it but make sure to contact support through that ride afterwards to tell them they tried to change the destination through the app but it wouldn't let them

      It cost the rider a $1 or 2 to change destination or add a stop. They're lying to you that the app "won't allow them to make a change";, they don't want to pay an extra dollar. Guess what kind of tip you will get from these types?

    • @user-hj3ko6mm7i
      @user-hj3ko6mm7i ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TalkingOutOfSchool I agree. Cuz usually when you tell them you can't add a stop unless they put it in the app they just say okay forget about it.

    I follow a lot of this guys videos I'm an owner operator truck driver with over 2 million safe miles! The truck industry today is a great way to make a quarter of a million dollars a year easy, but the problem is there's a reason why there's a shortage of 400,000 drivers it's a tough job and not everyone can do it I've been doing it for a long time and I used to be a taxi driver back in the day in Philadelphia and I recently met up with another owner operator truck driver who is doing Uber and Lyft it's doing well I will say the number one thing is to do your research and watch guys like this guy he has some great advice some of the advice he has is just playing common sense but we all know there's a lot of people out there that don't have that nowadays LOL.

    I do this Full time: and Yes I have a rental,
    * As for keeping your doors locked at all times: I found that out the hard way when someone just jumped in and offered cash to take them to where they needed to go..... Ugg
    * Having the correct passenger - I did a pickup at the Metro here in my area and a young girl got in and I never asked her for her name before driving off, found out 2 blocks down the road she was not my pickup so since it was raining I drove back to the starting point and had her wait in the car until her Lyft showed up, Once they did then my Pax got in and she went to the other Lyft.
    * Blasting Music: I pulled at a stop light yesterday right next to a Uber driver with a Pax in the back of their car the music was "Blasting" it really didn't look like the Pax was even enjoining the music at all and the Driver looked as if he was even sleeping during the wait at the stop light - I always play "Flashback" music it does offer a variety for them to listen to plus I keep it low to where we are all able to know music is playing but without developing a headache. Plus I always ask if there is a special radio station they would like to listen to.
    * AC vers Heat - I always ask them if they are needed.
    * Watching Uber/Lyft video's as a source to better yourself as a driver - Started this "Before" driving for Lyft and still do it regularly to see what kind of crap pax may be doing during certain rides.
    * I'll leave you a Tip on the App - Lol don't count on it! I have heard this many times and never received the tip for anyone that states they will although I do get quite a few tips daily if they talk about doing it then chances are they won't.
    * Question: at what age does the "KID" have to be before a driver should take them? also at what age does the Child have to be before you take them without a car seat? - I do get them from time to time but to me 1/2 the time they look a little to big for a booster or car seat (My Opinion).
    Thanks for taking the time to view and for your answers.

    I've been getting a lot of people lately who live in huge apartment complexes or condo complexes and they enter the address for you to pick them up that's at the gate but they really want you to drive all around to pick them up at their building.
