    Spent a lot of time their back in highschool. It used to be filled with rocks from all the years of divers so a friend of mine Went down into the hole and pulled out all of the large rocks it definitely helped the color. You’re welcome.

    Have always had a great time there, went yesterday and there were hundreds of large striped bass near the hole and around it, it was amazing to swim through them and look at how big some of them were.

    Map is a good component of the video.
    Great video.
    Comments on seasonal considerations of the location are helpful, and what season the video was shot. If you can stick the lonk to the park website in the description, that would be cool.
    Thanks for putting these together, my family has visited a few of these, based on your videos when traveling to FL!

    I moved to Ocala in the 80s and found the Glen by just getting out and exploring.
    It's nice to see it hasn't changed in all this time.
    I wonder if the old dugout canoe is still there lodged in ground.
    Btw, one of the nature trails has a bunch of sand boils you could stand in like quicksand.
    And it's possible to find old shark's teeth if you sift through it.

    It is also a historical Indian site. So that’s really exciting. I don’t know if you noticed that when you were there or not? But that’s why they don’t have showers or installed toilets plumbing. Because they can’t by law lol!

    Are there gators 🐊 in this water?

    • @CampTravelExplore
      @CampTravelExplore  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Gators are all over Florida, but I have never seen one near the spring-head itself, they usually are up river where its warmer, also, there is a lot of swimmer and kayak traffic, they usually stay clear of that!! It's a beautiful place to go!

    • @CampTravelExplore
      @CampTravelExplore  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We gave up flying the drone awhile ago, just became a hassle figuring out where to fly. You definitely cant fly at a state park, however some county parks allow it in certain areas. You just have to check each location and a lot could have changed by now! Thanks for checking out our channel!!

      Salt springs is the closest camping to Silver Glen springs. You should load up supplies before going out there as there are very few places to stop and load up on.

    QUESTION: Are there ever any alligators in this or any other Florida spring??

    • @CampTravelExplore
      @CampTravelExplore  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My experience has been that gators usually stay up river where it is warmer and no swimmers are present. Ive never seen one around the main spring area and I have filmed about 15 springs now.

  • @youtubernaz1scensoredbythe201
    @youtubernaz1scensoredbythe201 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You think it's pretty now? You should have seen it 30 years ago, when it was pristine, and the springs were so clean, you could see the water bubbling up from the sand. Back when it was privately owned and the government didn't screw everything up. There is only one privately owned Spring left in Florida now, Ginnie Springs. A place where you can still go camping. Have an ACTUAL camp fire, like on the actual ground. You can also bring as much alcohol as you want. Can you say that about ANY other spring???? NOPE. you cant...
