😁If you go a little further south outside the park where the Silver River meets the Ocklawaha River you will definitely see the monkeys. But be forewarned they can be nasty little shits. They like to scream and throw things at you and if it happens to be mating season and it's a troop with an alpha male it will jump in the water and chase your boat.👍😁
I absolutely love going to Silver Springs every year! Usually for the day I go, I'll couple it with another Florida state park such as Crystal River or Homosassa Springs. All of them are very natural and soothing!
Ocala is also horse country, so consider horseback riding as a fun option while here or visit the "World Equestrian Center". There is also a fun place to go ziplining through the tropical trees over an old quarry that has since filled with water. My point is that you could spend the night here in Ocala and stay awhile! Great video of Silver Springs!
Springs are definitely your passion and I love seeing how excited you are when you share their history and take us along on your journey through the waters! The manatees are so cute! I was just about to say I want to get into kayaking and then you mentioned gators LOL. I promise, I'm going to overcome this fear lol.
lol…I do love kayaking. It’s definitely is one of my passions! There is just something about being out on the water with this beautiful crystal clear water that just makes feel at peace. I hope you do try it sometime. As long as you stay far away, the gators are more afraid of you than you are of them.
Another amazing video. So relaxing to go to the Springs. Water so.crystal clear. alligators.😳👀.Manatee so beautiful. Saw the monkeys. So much fun. Waiting for the next video.Thank- you
Thank you so much! We were hoping to see many more monkeys, but we're so glad we at least caught the one on the trail. Thank you so much for your incredible support!
I'm fortunate enough to live locally and get to kayak the Silver River quite often. The Monkeys can be seen from the water around 50 percent of the time. They are often seen further down the 5 mile stretch of river. Regarding the Manatees, this year there were about 16 that were calling Silver River home with a few new born that could be seen.
Wow, that's rare seeing a monkey. The manatees are gracious as ever to see too. I'm amazed at all that crystal clear spring water at locations in Florida. We have a treasure here worth preserving. Thumbs up presentation!
Philthy!! I hope you’re doing well! 🤗 we were sooo excited to finally see a monkey!! Every time I visit a spring, I am always so grateful to live so close to such incredible places! They definitely are treasures worth preserving. I completely agree.
@@miszced same here….the fountain of youth is definitely worth a review! We actually have an older video that features the fountain of youth, but it could absolutely use an update. We are planning on creating an updated St Augustine video! We could update The Fountain of Youth while we’re at it. I’ll add it to the list! ☺️✅
I’ve gone twice. I haven’t seen the monkeys yet. We even went to the trail side of the park and walked 6 miles looking for them. That’s awesome that you saw one !
I still can’t believe we finally saw one!! 😁 I seriously didn’t think it was going to happen. At least we’re not alone is our chase trying to see these elusive monkeys!!
Me and a friend once canoed up the river to the springs(saves the cost of admission :D ) We didn't time it very well and it got dark on the way back and I mean no moon dark. We could barely tell that we were in the middle of the river and all of a sudden the canoe hits and goes over something. If you have ever been there during the day you know there are no obstructions in the middle of the river so it had to be a gator we ran over. I still get chills thinking about that adventure.
I live about a mile from Silver Springs. It sends up over a million gallons of water per day of over 99% pure water. The clarity of the water is breathtaking. The monkeys have learned to swim (yes, the gators leave them alone) and they do come across the river and climb onto people’s roofs! No one is glad when that happens because about 30% of these monkeys have herpes B. They can be very aggressive and nasty! There is no more relaxing, peaceful, quiet place to forget about everything that troubles you, and just relax while paddling. It is a restorative place where one can just BE.
I couldn't agree more. When life gets hectic...paddling in a place as beautiful as Silver Springs or any of the incredible springs in Florida bring me back to life! However, I could only imagine how chaotic it can be with monkeys on your roof!!
Hey Everyone! Have you ever encountered the monkeys at Silver Springs?? I would love to hear your stories!

Great video❣❣ I'm going there soon to hopefully find some monkeys!
Thank you!! You’ll have to come back and let me know if you see monkeys!!

안녕하세요! I just came back from a kayaking experience where we saw wild monkeys, crocodiles, and turtles. It was a fantastic experience.

Awesome, why are you not allowed to swim there? I can’t find anything on internet

@@ChrissaTravels doing fine just getting older. Is Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth worth a review in St. Augustine?

Hello, do they allow swimming? Are there any swimming areas here?
Not at Silver Springs! Salt Springs is nearby and allows swimming.

Whoa….I can’t even imagine how creepy that had to be!! I’m glad you made it back safely!

A monkey scurrying over a roof than suddenly on a screened-in lanai! Hmmm, pass.
BTW, crystal clear water still hard water?
They are invasive, and should've been removed a long time ago, but I enjoyed your sense of adventure finding them & the beauty of the place.
I have seen monkeys all the way down to moss bluff.
Save FL springs. They’re under threat. Do research. Donate to FL Springs Institute and others. Lobby. Volunteer. Keep enjoying them!
