Joe, I can't believe you only have 19K subscribers. Anyone who is a knife lover should watch your channel. I firmly believe in taking care of my knives. But it's nice to know just how much stress a knife can take. In a survival situation you never know what you may ask of your knife, above and beyond the call of duty. If I hadn’t watched your videos, I wouldn’t even know about WTG, and wouldn’t even know my country Taiwan is also a powerhouse in knife-manufacturing!! (At least WTG, Survival Lilly and most of Cold Steel’s blades are made in Taiwan. Nowadays if I like a new knife, I would search if you had done a destruction test on it before putting in my wishlist. Stay safe!!

I love knife reviews, I bought a lot of unnecessary steel in my life but it always fills me with joy and a certain amount of glee that something like the Mora Robust will make it to the top. I own five or so of them (lost count among the other Moras) that knife will somewhat easily hold up to other things 10/20/30 times the price. A Robust is roughly 14 Euros (Prime delivered) right now. A Mass of Oktoberfest Beer this year was 14,90 EUR. Mora Robust is THE value for money knife in my opinion. Haven't seen anything close. I use some cold blue solution on the Robust when I get it and they will take -anything-.
The splits, the yelling, and the theatrics. It’s awesome getting to the top 5 and seeing you struggle so hard to break these. Number 4 had me giggling cause you were beating the rod and you kept slowing the shot like it was gonna break but it didn’t. Hilarious.

Joe, if you remember last time we talked about 3V? So many tests on tanto and 3V knives of Cold Steel have been done by you. But Cold Steel ultimate one is still there waiting for you: Warcraft tanto 3V. You can pick up either 5.5 or 7.5 inches blade, though I prefer the later.

ESEE 5-6 are so good. This company deserves its praises and ESEE provides a great sheath with the 5, plus a perfect fit and finish. These Mora prove you can make both a cheap and excellent knife. The Gerber is the icing on the cake to conclude that a company that masters the quenching masters the steel, while everything else is just hyped advertisement (aka bullshit).
@@joex It is longer and not too thick, not ideal for your tests. That being said, you're right, some cheap machete performed better (probably a softer steel, and not 1095 that is not that great for longer blades).
@@joexYeah, the Junglas didn't do particularly well, but every other ESEE you've tested (including the Junglas 2, other than its weak tip) has done amazing, so I'm willing to consider that one an outlier. I suspect the ESEE 4 would've been included here if you'd tested it earlier. One thing I can say for sure, is that your videos definitely helped me decide between an ESEE or Becker for my next survival knife, as every ESEE significantly outperformed its Becker counterparts (E5/BK2, E6/BK7, J2/BK9). Which is honestly a little annoying, as I was hoping to save some money with the Becker.
I think the Mora Garberg should have been in your top 20, it was one of the only knives I’ve seen you having to jump on with your full body weight to break it, and even then you couldn’t even shoot the handle off with two bullets, what do you think?

For me the best you tested was Tom brown tracker, could you try a test in a tool called stealth or jaws from a company called lifeline tool for firefighters and divers this tool cut almost all you find in your way but must be tested for good 🤣

If I would ask you hypotetically would you test a non commercial knife, a fulltang puukko meaning that the puukkos fish-tang (or Red Tang) Is fitted compleatly through the wooden handle. Its a very old and rare way of making a puukko handle and the twist is that there is a metal end plate (usually brass) hammered through the very tip of the tail in order to lock the wooden handle in place and provide a spatial securing system that keeps the handle in place, the Tang lined, the whole long fish-tang provides a even pressure which does provide more piercing force for the counter force Kicks back in the target like regular fulltang knife, the endplate can then be used for some hammering if the endplate is thick and tough enough but not too hard metal. This way of building the puukko handle takes a very long time, its old and traditional Handwork mostly. Its the most difficult way, but its also the most robust puukko handle construction. I kinda would be curious how does it line up in with the rest of the knives you tested. Unfortunately I'm unable to the test the blades myself, people who I have given this Kind of fulltang puukkos have been unsuccesful breaking them. I think they just didn't want to break them. My cousin has chopped wood with his Laplands Leuku I made for him pretty close to 1,5 years now actively but I'm kinda curious to see where the weak point are, so that I can have more data which helps me make them better in the future? I'm the developing process right now, so I'm not selling anything, so it wouldnt cost you anything. Because I'm doing all of it my self (design, drawing the blueprints, select the best materials and inbetweens, actually do the work including the puukko and sheath, finish the coatings and leather) and I don't have a schedual in making, it takes a very long time anyways. It's ready when it is properly done, it could be somewhere in the unknown future in youre Mailbox, or not, if my health will allow it. So, would you in theory be interested in this kind of surprise fulltang puukko and test it? Ps. Forgot to add that if it would happen to survive youre regular beating, you could keep it naturally. Life is full of wonders and if I would have interest of selling them, it could be the most valuable puukko you have ever tested or ever will. I would send pictures but I'm not sure how to add them here. Wishing the best for you and youre channel, V

For me the best you tested was Tom brown tracker, could you try a test in a tool called stealth or jaws from a company called lifeline tool for firefighters and divers this tool cut almost all you find in your way but must be tested for good 🤣

Btw. If I would ask you hypotetically would you test a non commercial knife, a fulltang puukko meaning that the puukkos fish-tang (or Red Tang) Is fitted compleatly through the wooden handle. Its a very old and rare way of making a puukko handle and the twist is that there is a metal end plate (usually brass) hammered through the very tip of the tail in order to lock the wooden handle in place and provide a spatial securing system that keeps the handle in place, the Tang lined, the whole long fish-tang provides a even pressure which does provide more piercing force for the counter force Kicks back in the target like regular fulltang knife, the endplate can then be used for some hammering if the endplate is thick and tough enough but not too hard metal.
This way of building the puukko handle takes a very long time, its old and traditional Handwork mostly. Its the most difficult way, but its also the most robust puukko handle construction. I kinda would be curious how does it line up in with the rest of the knives you tested. Unfortunately I'm unable to the test the blades myself, people who I have given this Kind of fulltang puukkos have been unsuccesful breaking them.
I think they just didn't want to break them. My cousin has chopped wood with his Laplands Leuku I made for him pretty close to 1,5 years now actively but I'm kinda curious to see where the weak point are, so that I can have more data which helps me make them better in the future? I'm the developing process right now, so I'm not selling anything, so it wouldnt cost you anything. Because I'm doing all of it my self (design, drawing the blueprints, select the best materials and inbetweens, actually do the work including the puukko and sheath, finish the coatings and leather) and I don't have a schedual in making, it takes a very long time anyways. It's ready when it is properly done, it could be somewhere in the unknown future in youre Mailbox, or not, if my health will allow it. So, would you in theory be interested in this kind of surprise fulltang puukko and test it?
Ps. Forgot to add that if it would happen to survive youre regular beating, you could keep it naturally.
Life is full of wonders and if I would have interest of selling them, it could be the most valuable puukko you have ever tested or ever will.
