It needs another wet sand and buff but all my friends and family say it looks professional. I'm not so sure about that (lol), but not bad for in my carport out of direct sunlight. I did use a sanding block a lot in the video but hard to see in some of them. It’s a foam sanding block and it didn’t work as good as hand sanding and wasn’t wavy. I've watched alot of the vids man love it, but I believe this to be the only one where u explain letting the paint aka bade coat cure a few days then wet sand 1k lightly then apply 2k clear. All the other vids I've seen you just directly add 2k on top after base no waiting? Is this somthing new you've learned to be a better overall outcome? And when your done wet sanding do u use wax grease remover or just wipe down with dry rag?
Just found you. Working through some of your videos. I'm really impressed that you are giving people a legitimate alternative to $5000.00 paint jobs. I have been thinking about this myself for quite a while. Paint is paint. If you can spray it on, and you have decent technique, you can get some very impressive results. Obviously a $12.00 can of paint will probably fade or chalk up in a couple of years, but I think you solved this by top coating with the 2K clear. Other than your time, you probably have $100.00 to $150.00 invested in your paint job, and the results speak for themselves. Your car looks great! Good enough for 95% of people! Would love some follow up to see how it holds up in a couple of years. Great job and keep posting!

Using rustolium 2x satin spray can. Should i or do i need to wet sand before i put on any 2k clear coat at all?? I cant spray the clear within the tacky time of the rustolium.
Just asking to ask how much cheaper if it is cheaper is using 8 cans vs buying traditional clear you sprsy out of a hvlp gun. Thank you for your time n great video once again
Depends on the clear coat you want to compare it to. The 8 cans are pushing $160+. Gallon of sprayable clear from speedokote is going to range from $89-$159. The cans just simplify the process but I wouldn’t necessarily consider it a cheaper option UNLESS you’re buying all the equipment too.
Well using cans is quiet that’s why I went that route because a compressor is loud and the neighbors will report me but it’s almost the same price depending on the clear. The price of a gun, compressor, air line, water separator and clear is more expensive though.
@Moore Motorsports Garage I've seen you use a gun before so I know you know how to use it but I completely understand about the neighbor thing. I was just looking to compare the 2. Thank you for your response
You really need to open up a shop. You can help a lot of people out that don’t have a lot of money to spend on a good quality paint job your paint jobs come out Awesome and very professional looking keep it up brother we appreciate it. Great Contant.😎👍
Probably hard to do this as a shop as the paint will fade within a couple of years (assuming it's garaged and looked after, it will fade much quicker if exposed to sun) and it still takes enough man hours to do all the prep work that it'd not be cheap to pay for. It's more of a fun/cheap alternative if you have spare time and enjoy doing this kind of thing :) All that said, while it's fresh it looks very fresh.
iv been painting with spray cans for 24 years, they can make a amazing end result if you know what to do and get lucky with the chemical reactions, some times paint just reacts bad to the base coat or even on its own coats that are half dried..
Nice job! The price is ridiculous expensive now though 6 cans £220! (That's about 280-290usd!! ) Shame was going to re-clear my BMW. Nevermind. 👍🏴🇬🇧
Hey, so I’m using the Rust-Oleum 2X Navy blue on my 02 Mustang. So far the results look good but a few runs. I’ve let the car set for a couple days. What do I need to do to get them out before using the 2k? And then after wet sanding with 1000 grit, do I need to apply anothe coat of paint or can I go ahead with the 2k clear?
Amazing Job Brother. God has Blessed you with cool talent i have been painting cars for 15 years and that paint job is killer. God Bless and keep up the good work.
As a crafter who uses spray paint, what are your thoughts on the plastic handle thingy? Not sure what it is exactly called, obviously. I t holds the can and when squeeze trigger the spray nozzle pushes down and paint comes out. For me it saves my finger on the bigger jobs. I cant even imagine doing a car by finger!
Nice Job ! The idea with the Carbon Hood could be good contant to lay some carbonfiber with epoxyresin to have a "carbon look" hood for cheap . Keep it up
Is the 2K clear compatible with all of the Rust-oleum paints? Can you also color sand the clear and then cut and buff it for a mirror shine? Is the 2K clear just like a catalyzed automotive clear? How long until dust free? Thanks man. This channel is VERY inspiring!
Well I have used it with other rustoleum. I have sprayed the clear while the 2X paint was still tacky and it worked great but with this paint the painted used in this video and other videos I prefer letting it dry then wet sanding and clear like I did for best results. It can still be wet sanded and buffed for a even better shine and smooth finish like I did on my wife’s pink crv video
Awesome video!! I found this while searching about rattle-can clear coats for a very small table surface and here I stumble across you painting an entire car! Amazing and a very well done video. Great color on that Honda too BTW.
So do you wet sand the gloss down from the color 1st before the 2k gloss for a better look You're motivated me but I want to take my spray painting skills to another level like yours
This is gorgeous . I’m doing my bike this color. So, what grade of paper did you use for wet sand. Also how long did the 2k dry for before wet sanding?
PLEASE ANSWER THIS FOR ME BROTHA , Once I’m done painting do i wet sand the base coats and buff &polish before applying clear coats than wet Sand the clear coats and buff and polish again ? PLEASE HELP ?? God Bless 🫶🏾
The labels of each product should tell you what grit the surface has to be prepared at. Usually no need to sand (especially polish) base coat before clear, but you can wet sand (at a high grit) and polish after if you really want to make it shine. Read the labels tho, they should specify everything.
when you wash, is it okay to go through the spray wash with that? how long till you start to consider to repaint? I have a TSX which is Black Sand Pearl ... the paint is gone and I want to do something like this - seeing the Turbo paint comes in clear now.
Has anyone ever had streaks in their clear coat after painting? This was my very first time spray painting a car and I did my entire hood. I screwed up the clear coat. I laid 3 coats of base beautifully, but on the clear coat, i had difficulty keeping a wet edge, i didn't overlap far enough, and let that first coat flash too long. I thought it would even out as i added two more layers of clear coat. It didn't. The first coat of clear is still showing through as uneven streaks. I was trying to avoid orange peel, but i know my mistakes now. Do I need to wet sand down and paint all over again, base and clear coat? Or will polishing the heck out if it with maybe medium cutting compound help? Any advice will be helpful. Thank you to all who read this. I used Duplicolor rattle cans for the base and spraymax 2k glamour clear.

She looks even better bro, too clean🧼🧼

You really need to open up a shop. You can help a lot of people out that don’t have a lot of money to spend on a good quality paint job your paint jobs come out Awesome and very professional looking keep it up brother we appreciate it. Great Contant.😎👍

Probably hard to do this as a shop as the paint will fade within a couple of years (assuming it's garaged and looked after, it will fade much quicker if exposed to sun) and it still takes enough man hours to do all the prep work that it'd not be cheap to pay for. It's more of a fun/cheap alternative if you have spare time and enjoy doing this kind of thing :)
All that said, while it's fresh it looks very fresh.
iv been painting with spray cans for 24 years, they can make a amazing end result if you know what to do and get lucky with the chemical reactions, some times paint just reacts bad to the base coat or even on its own coats that are half dried..
Nice job! The price is ridiculous expensive now though 6 cans £220! (That's about 280-290usd!! ) Shame was going to re-clear my BMW. Nevermind. 👍🏴🇬🇧
Here in the USA it’s like $120 usd
Hey, so I’m using the Rust-Oleum 2X Navy blue on my 02 Mustang. So far the results look good but a few runs. I’ve let the car set for a couple days. What do I need to do to get them out before using the 2k? And then after wet sanding with 1000 grit, do I need to apply anothe coat of paint or can I go ahead with the 2k clear?
The glaze or filler tecnique is great for runs and it really helps avoid break through, and its flat then clear .
Amazing Job Brother. God has Blessed you with cool talent i have been painting cars for 15 years and that paint job is killer. God Bless and keep up the good work.
How many layers of clear coat is safe

As a crafter who uses spray paint, what are your thoughts on the plastic handle thingy? Not sure what it is exactly called, obviously. I t holds the can and when squeeze trigger the spray nozzle pushes down and paint comes out. For me it saves my finger on the bigger jobs. I cant even imagine doing a car by finger!
It looks much better with the clear.
I know Killeen TX very well. Was stationed at Hood back in 93. You would laugh at my spray can paint jobs on my old 74 nova. Looks killer man!
I'm not finding a chart converting manufacturers color codes to rustoleum. Did you have that info?
Great product, make sure you wear a proper Mask when spraying this stuff it’s harsh and can really screw you up.
Fresh fresh fresh!! So sick
Nice Job ! The idea with the Carbon Hood could be good contant to lay some carbonfiber with epoxyresin to have a "carbon look" hood for cheap . Keep it up
Would be cool but I’m not that skilled haha
God bless u brother! Looks awesome
What kinda respirator do you use when painting 2k and the rustoleum paint?
Something that is rated for organic vapors. I like the 6006 cartridges for a 3m mask.
That’s awesome how you showcased this. Saving thousands of dollars for people who would’ve thought it be impossible
Hi. Can I message you privately? I have question regarding semi gloss black on a hood.
moore_motor_sports@yahoo.com
Do you have to run some of these paints top to bottom? Good work man these all look really good
Keep making good content bro
Wetsand the clear and buff it...The orange peel made it not so shiny
Awesome video!! I found this while searching about rattle-can clear coats for a very small table surface and here I stumble across you painting an entire car! Amazing and a very well done video. Great color on that Honda too BTW.
Would you recommend doing 1k grit wet sanding with black gloss spray paint? Or would the scratches show?
Plus do you wipe it with alcohol??
What if you wait a week after the base coat to dry before wet sand and 2k clear???
So do you wet sand the gloss down from the color 1st before the 2k gloss for a better look You're motivated me but I want to take my spray painting skills to another level like yours
Yes 100%
@JamesDguy thanks alot I'll try that
This is gorgeous . I’m doing my bike this color. So, what grade of paper did you use for wet sand. Also how long did the 2k dry for before wet sanding?
Looks wicked for a spray can paint job water sanding is the key for that no orange peel shine ;)
Great job . Peace be upon you.
Bro I been watch you for a lil min and your skills are crazy with the rattle can 🔥🔥
PLEASE ANSWER THIS FOR ME BROTHA ,
Once I’m done painting do i wet sand the base coats and buff &polish before applying clear coats than wet Sand the clear coats and buff and polish again ?
PLEASE HELP ?? God Bless 🫶🏾
The labels of each product should tell you what grit the surface has to be prepared at. Usually no need to sand (especially polish) base coat before clear, but you can wet sand (at a high grit) and polish after if you really want to make it shine. Read the labels tho, they should specify everything.
If i Didn't Know i Would Think it's a Wrap
Awesome video
Appreciate it and DC2 content soon!
The garage door insulation how well does it work?
GoPro Firmware upgrade should fix the issue.
We did that and didn’t fix it. Also it works decent since the sun beats on it most the day
God bless you brother! keep up the good work!
It is absolutely insane how good that car looks from spray cans!
Unbelievable transformation.
How long after u paint it do u add the clear?
when you wash, is it okay to go through the spray wash with that? how long till you start to consider to repaint? I have a TSX which is Black Sand Pearl ... the paint is gone and I want to do something like this - seeing the Turbo paint comes in clear now.
curious as well. i wonder how long paint jobs like this actually last. im considering on doing something like this to me 08 honda civic
a week
That 2K clear's one of my favorite. Great job! Real inspiring!
I used Duplicolor rattle cans for the base and spraymax 2k glamour clear.
wet sand until you start seeing color
how long do you have to let rosteleum cure before applying a clear coat?
What master at the rattle can
It is crazy how good it can be with rustolem
Great job sir
Jumping out of my seat with your technique but you still go great results....more power to ya!!
