    Im looking at a ZG 327 with 500 hours that has the Kabota with a KGZ 770? Have you heard anything about this gas kubota model engine good or bad...? Thank you

    Love the "FJB" badging. Whatever your take is, on it, I know what mine is. Very surprised by the hydraulic oil fill and fuel fill looking quite similar. How long before someone confuses the two? Fuel in the hydraulic tank, would be a problem for sure. I enjoy your videos. Be well.

    Great looking property! I feel your pain about cleaning up that tree - we had an ice storm here in Texas this past winter and it took out lots of large limbs. I was very sore after the cleanup.

      Thanks. We had major wind storms this spring and many of my EAB killed ash trees are laying in the woods. I have been cleaning up for weeks. I lost all my muscle mass after my second covid vaccine and can't build it back so bending over with a chainsaw is very painful now. I justtake my time. Thanks for watching.

    Hi Ed. Zero turns really are time savers. I have halved my mowing time in half. I'm 75 and would rather spend more time in doing other things (RECLINER?) than additional time mowing lawns. I have a JD Z545R with 60" deck. I had been using a tractor and groom 60" mower. The zero turn lower center of gravity makes it less apt to tip over on side hills. Also, it cuts down considerably on tractor hours use for additional longevity, frequency of maintenance, etc. Other than the cash outlay (and having to maintain and store two machines (but at twice the interval times), for me it is a win situation. .... As a side note: (in our prior discussions) my Beelink is still doing exceptional, so much so that I bought a twin for bedroom smart tv. Hope you and your family are all doing well.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023

      Definitely speeds the top up but have found it's no good for the hill or bottom section that's always wet. Still need the BX for those areas. Front casters reallly can make it squirrely on the hill when one wheel slips. My Beelink box still works great and I have been thinking about another to upgrade my cnc plasma machine if I can find a good usb to parallel port adapter thats compatible with mach 32. The old xp box wouldn't boot up thr other day. Thanks for watching.

    From one un-employed Red-Neck to another-
    If you have a warranty claim, the entity honoring the warranty is the manufacturer. I recommend you follow the manufacturer's warranty and not your "dealer's advice". Changing the oil after 8 hours is needed to get the engine hot so the assembly grease, preservative elements, and any other contaminants are removed from the internal engine parts. All of the greases and fluids used in the assembly of the engine are entrained within the engine oil so they want you to drain and refill with clean oil. The filter traps particulates including metal shavings, carbon, sand, etc. It doesn't trap the substances entrained in the oil, so that's why you don't need to remove and replace the filter at 8 hours.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have always changed the filter when changing the break in oil. Really wonder why Kubota doesn't call for it while other manufacturers do. If dealer says for longest life change it because there's break in oil in the filter that will contaminate the new oil I do. Thanks for watching

    • @FISHH00KS
      @FISHH00KS 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 I'm a airplane mechanic with FAA inspection authorization. There are two types of piston engine oil: Ashless dispersant and mineral oil. Mineral oil is used for break-in and allows the rings to seat to the cylinder walls and the bearings to conform to the races. Ashless dispersant contains additives that increase lubricity and prevent wear. If you used AD oil to break in, the rings and cylinder walls would take much longer to properly seat to one another and you would not get the power/performance. Manufacturers that say to change the filter at break-in probably want to make money along with the dealers on filter sales and don't want to answer phone calls asking "why not change the filter?" I got lazy about 35 years ago and took the Toyota dealer up on their "free first oil change". They wrote on the repair ticket that they changed the filter. When I looked over their work, they hadn't changed the filter. When I asked them why, the Service Manager showed me in the Toyota manual where Toyota says to change only the oil at break in. Then he said it's easier to write on the repair ticket that they changed the filter because the customers ask why they didn't change the filter.

    You are correct about the oil for a Kaw I got the whole kit for my JD X570 Kaw motor as the kit was $89,00 but you get the oil, oil filter, air filter, gas filter and 2 spark plugs. Would been a bit more at the JD Dealer. So I got the Kaw maintenance kit that way using the correct stuff for a Kaw.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a good way to do the big services. Actually the first oil change is only supposed to be the oil buy my dealer says the filter should be replaced also. I guess all Kawasaki engines need the zinc in the oil for long life so it's best to use OEM oil. Thanks for watching.

      It definitely has a nice cut and is fast. The biggest issue I have found is it is rigid with noflex in any axle so uneven areas make it a 3 wheeler. I may look at something like the Ferris next that has travel in the front axles so it's not tippy and scalping on my rough lawn. Thanks for watching.

    I've had one of these for 2 years now, approaching 200 hours. It is a marvelous machine, like a high powered go kart. I have lots of steep hillsides, and have gotten more comfortable every season and can do more as I get better at it (and more bold). My property is varied and uneven and I work the heck out of this thing. My deck looks different than yours, I don't think I have those bolt heads on the outside edge like you showed, but maybe... I have had one, maybe two mechanical issues: the gas gauge died, had to take it for a warranty replacement. Also, the seat is great, but the knob seems to turn weirdly now, I'm not sure if it is broken or not. I will go to the dealer at some point and look at a new one to determine if mine is working properly. This thing is an absolute hoot.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the older ones had a 7 gauge deck and different bolt configuration. This one has been cheapened down to 8 gauge with a 10 gauge top from what I read. Raise prices and cheapen stuff seeme to be common these days. All that hardware along with the added ribs to strengthen the thinner materials really catch clippings and make it a real pain to scrape clean. Mows great but my hill is over a 15 degree slope that is bad for these engines and the bottom is wet so the BX still is needed. Thanks for watching

    Big wood handle wire brush works on cleaning bolts inside the deck , I use a grassbuster deck cleaning tool, also. You you bought one of the best models they make. Mines a Z412, love it.

      Those in facing bolts are a real pain. I use several different masonary trowels. The offset handles work best for me. This mower is awesome and now that I am comfortable driving it, it's fast with a perfect cut. It is a gass hog but worth it for the time saved mowing. Thanks for watching.

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว

      No it's not. Over a 15 degree angle is not recommended for the engines and I can't get back up my hill if it's damp. I still need the Kubota BX for mowing my hill and damp bottom area around the pond.

      It has been a great mower so far. Sucks about 2 gallons of gas an hour and with my rough yard really rides rough but the seat absorbs most of it. Cuts nice and is fast. Not cheap to service the parker drives with $20 a quart oil. Good mower but wouldn't buy it again. I would look for one with suspension as 4 solidly fixed wheels ride terrible on rough uneven ground. Thanks for watching.

    Ed, is the parking brake to drive status a mechanical link or electrical? If electrical, it should be easy to unplug and mod so that you can engage the parking brake on a hill while having the drive motors engaged. I modded my old mower back in the day so that I could let it run while not sitting on the seat. If I needed to get off and move something, I had to restart. Just unhooked one wire and now I can idle it down and get off as needed. On mine it did not effect the safety interlock for blades in motion or in gear which are a no brainer. I thought the wok pan to hold the oil was hilarious!

    • @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023
      @unemployedredneckhillbilly2023  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure about that but am going to possibly put an override switch in if it's electrical. No I don’t agree. My neighbor has a big expensive Ferris and even with sharp blades the cut is not smooth and even. I think it has to do with the suspension being on the front wheels allowing the deck to dive at every little bump instead of the suspension seat that does not affect the deck height. They go so fast that if your on an incline going downhill just a little and hit reverse too fast you’ll spin and won’t be able to stop it. So just be careful.
