Love this video. Great close ups. Explanation is easy to understand. Thank you! I have the hardest time with cuticle care. Definitely leveled up my skills with this video!
Simply beautiful. I will be helping a sister in Christ do gel polish nails and goodness, I'm nervous. Your video helped me though. I'm used to dip powder but the prep is just as important. Thank you!
@@coriewalton6601 Aw, no worries. We didn't get to do gel nails afterall but the food fair was still great! I did acrylic for the first time like 2 weeks ago and gosh, 5 nails lifted, 3 on one hand and 2 on the other. #practiceresearchpractice
@@corienineboomSaw that too and had to comment, as a fellow sister in Christ 😊❤ I’m just getting into trying gel x at home! I get my kit and polishes in the mail tomorrow!
Looks beautiful but made me cringe 😬 just cancelled my plans to do it.never been visiting mani, pedi entire my life.amazing that u guys can do this.beautiful.😍
Soaking your nails beforehand so the cuticle is soft can prevent it. The method in the vid basically cuts/scrapes off the cuticle, when soaking it before gently pushing it back can keep the skin intact. After you’ve done your nails with acrylic, gel, whatever, it is good to moisturize em to double ensure hangnails don’t happen !
@@strangethings7180 did you know she just asked a question and you don't need to be an ugly person to people.. besides most video makers say questions or comments.. comment 🤡
I’m super new to everything to do with nails, I’m just a bit confused if someone can clarify… is she cutting off her cuticle on that first nail? I thought the cuticle was the white crest (not the dead flaky skin) which you’re not supposed to remove as it may cause infection and loss of protection for the nail? She used the cuticle clippers and it seems like she cuts off her entire cuticle, please correct me if I’m wrong I’m still learning! 🙏
Most people don’t do it so they don’t teach it to their kids. Also, clipping cuticles isn’t actually proper care. I mean, I do it sometimes because it DOES look nice but it can lead to infections and derms do not recommend. Nothings happened to me and clearly many others do it, but you can just push them back and that’s still good nail care

So thankful for you sharing your tips and making this video, THANK YOU so helpful :)
If I push my cuticles back like that it makes my skin lift off my nail and split up my finger. How do I stop that?

Did you not clean your nails with a cleanser before you applied base?
Great explanation😻
girl you know you don't need to throw out the entire nipper when the blade goes bad, you can send it out for sharpening lol
But how do you get the cuticle off the nail plate?
awesome video thankyou

ex nail teck here...she is removing living skin..youre NOT supposed to do that...push back only!!!!...if you cut that, they BECOME very thick
