      jade cole I honestly don’t think they are for what your paying for to be completely honest... tools that last you 5 years!

    • @isabelmaynails
      @isabelmaynails  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Jasimine Young ahhh that’s absolutely fine then, once you have built up more of a client base and saved pennies then you can invest 🥰❤️ I started out spending so much money buying loads of cheaper tools ( probably actually spent more on cheap tools combined) considering navy tools with last me at least 5 years 👌😍

    The eponychium provides a barrier to protect your nails from infection. Without it, bacteria, dirt, and fungus can seep beneath your nail and cause an infection. So, you should never cut it off. Besides, cutting it off will cause it to grow back quickly, contributing to overgrowth.

    • @TheApplianceDirect
      @TheApplianceDirect 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s ok to cut it. While it provides benefits, many women get their nails done, with that cut off, and have done so for years with any infection being the exception and not the rule.

    • @TheApplianceDirect
      @TheApplianceDirect 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yes and also in my experience, any amount of encouragement that cutting gives it to grow faster will easily go away with enough time spent not bothering it. So it’s not a permanent issue.

    I’ve heard that filing back and fourth is actually really damaging to your nails and can cause them to have jagged edges and it makes them prone to breakage. Is that true? I heard we were only supposed to file in one direction and I started doing that a couple weeks ago and have already seen a difference in my nails

    • @sylinamills8204
      @sylinamills8204 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes filing for fingernails should only be done in one direction.

    • @AB-rx8kr
      @AB-rx8kr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it’s damaging and causes micro tears on the free edge. The best way to file your natural nail is to start from the corner of the nail and file towards the center in one direction and then do the same from the other corner.

      Just learn at your own pace as you go ,and be mindful of your time or time yourself. Most of us are willing to wait for a good manicure :) If anyone is impatient or rude you can always deny service if they make you uncomfortable or rush your artwork.

    Hi! I never done something like this... is it necessary for the nail to be completely dry while pushing the cuticles ? Or I could use some warm water to make them softer ? Sometimes I hear the words "dry manicure " but I don't know if it's referred to that

    • @TheApplianceDirect

    how important would you say is the cuticle part? is it mostly just aesthetic or does it help the nail last longer? the reason i ask is because i have pretty healthy cuticles and i usually tell my nail tech not to mess with my cuticles because its uncomfortble and i end up getting hangnails. i dont think its too necessary because i dont have dead skin on my nails or white cuticle edges but let me know

    • @TheApplianceDirect
      @TheApplianceDirect 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe it’s mostly for aesthetic reasons. As long as built up keratin on the nail is gone, it shouldn’t interfere with the nail application. I suspect that cutting it away also helps to prevent some flooding in the cuticle.

    Hey, I’ve recently started off with gel nails and finding that my nails are not lasting on some people even two weeks. I do my prep the exact same and wipe the nail plate with acetone before going in with a base or builder. Is there anywhere people may know of that do a ‘nail prep’ class/course for just that??

    • @thecalinailtech
      @thecalinailtech 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you using a nail protein bond or like a booster before starting with base or builder? I think this prep is better than the young nails method butttt they have a nail protein bond and it works reallly well my nails make it to the month mark

    Hi, just some constructive feedback.
    I absolutely love your videos, i watch them all but please can you try and direct this to all crowds as its a little subjective towards one type of clientele "dont cut the pink skin".
    Not all have pink skin so would be useful to know tips for other skin tones also.

      JLambo JLambo heya lovely ahh thanks so much lovely☺️ but I think you might have slightly misunderstood I meant “pink” as in full of blood 🩸 so if you cut it it will make the skin bleed nothing to do with the actual colour of someone’s skin ❤️🥰 hopefully that makes sense 🥰
