    I mix a teaspoon of olive oil, a few drops of lemon, and then about a teaspoon of salt, mix together and then gently scrub my nails/cuticles and hands. This perfectly removes cuticles as you rub it around the base of the nail and the cuticle easily pushes up.

    I just started doing my own nails again for the first time in many many years and I STRUGGLE with trimming my cuticles well without them looking like they went through a blender, after. For some reason, it's impossible for me to clip away the dead stuff without accidentally clipping other stuff with the back end of the clipper, at the same time. I don't get it. they literally end up more torn up than they were by the time I finish

      are you sure you are not trimming in a straight line? also, be sure not to overcut.

    • @ASIANWOES
      @ASIANWOES  2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Practice makes perfect! Make sure your cuticle nippers (please do not use low quality ones with thick blunt blades) are angled in the right direction and as Eman shared below, trim in a straight line and do not overcut. Don't forget to moisturize your cuticles as well after! 💕

      Justine, you could try a smaller nipper jaw size!

      if it bleeds, you are *not* cutting your "cuticle". You are cutting you *Eponychium.* The cuticle is the dead skin on the surface of your nail plate, while the Eponychium is the living skin covering the matrix, as well as the lunua (when the lunua is too short)

    I've heard not to cut/snip of the eponychium its that line across the nail, it's what protects your nails from infections and bad stuff, you must keep it that is not the cuticle.

    • @ASIANWOES
      @ASIANWOES  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you 🌹 Depending on which cuticle remover you use, the one that I am using does not require soaking as it instantly softens the cuticle. However, if you are not using cuticle remover, you can soak your hands for 5 minutes before starting to push them ☺️

    What you were nipping is *not* something called a "live cuticle". You were cutting your eponychium, which is !!!LIVE SKIN!!!
    There is no such thing as a live cuticle, or "cuticle pocket" ! ! Please do not cut that living skin, it is a medical procedure, and you, as a "nail tech" should know this! • @ASIANWOES
      @ASIANWOES  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hello Kinder!! It sounds like you nipped too much and nipped into your live skin!! I hope you did not buy cheap nippers as it would have made it worse :( Be sure to clean your wounds properly and let them heal before you nip again (approx 2-3 weeks on average)~ If you are referring to the dry skin on the side of your nail, you can use the cuticle softener to soften it and push it out. But if you are talking about calluses on the finger by the nail, you can moisturize and exfoliate to slowly get rid of them ☺️
