This is a HUGE improvement over the 2012 model! It's like 2 completely different cars altogether (the 2013 vs 2012). Honda definitely hit it out of the park!
By this logic, in a few months (When 2014 model arrives) you are gonna feel bad for people who bought a 2013... Civic Honda 2012 was very good at the moment, now we have this good car at this moment...
I think people need to rethink about buyers who bought the 12' model. As a 12' model owner myself, I don't regret on purchased the car at all. First of all, think about the price. I got my car at the beginning of Nov 2012 for about $16,000(Included Destination), about $3,800 different if I have to add the destination charge to the 13' model. Second, when purchasing these "low-price" cars, most people only care about durability, some what on safety and resale value maybe, Honda Civic got that.
well they removed the dx option which was the most basic with no ac or radio so each trim now has great standard features, imid, pandora support, back up camera, and a lot more.
I have the 2012 hybrid version and honestly, this upgrade doesn't really move me much. I can understand if someone has the LX version of the sedan/coupe but for anyone else, your wasting equity and money if you want to upgrade. But if they do upgrade the powertrain for 2014, im IN!!! 100% in!
Have to say, definitely impressed. May have to re-add the Civic to my potential new car line-up for 2013. Will wait to see one in person though, but the first-look opinions are promising.
he talks about everything safety, looks, comfort but the most important thing he didnt talk about was the engine you know every car guy wants to know about it.
Not a bad change. I have the hybrid so it already looked better than all the civic line up and this model doesn't really have too many changes that compel me to upgrade unless my local honda dealer gives me a scorching trade in for my current car and gives a good price on the hybrid.
Wow finally the criticism was worth it, the 2012 model was nothing impressive for me, sometimes I confused the front with the outgoing model and the tail looks like the first generation prius, but finally 2013 has change the car will stand out on the street, I feel sorry for those who got the 2012 model.
The guy says the civic is available with lane departure and front collision prevention or whatever it's called and says that's amazing in a inexpensive car. In fact, the base Civic IS inexpensive, but to get those safety features, you gotta go with the Touring version, which is more expensive than the Accord.
That's a real nice car, to be honest. But I think it's still hypocritical for people to accuse Kia/Hyundai of being design copy cats since this 2013 Civic's rear looks like the design on the Camry's trunk, the sides of the news Civic and Accords resemble BMW designs if you look at the two cars more carefully, while the front part of the Civic looks like the front bumper of Proton vehicles.
For people who like style and features, you can always look for other cars, like Elantra. Personally, I don't like Elantra due to its bad driving performance (test drove one, felt unsafe driving it). I guess it is a trade off that buyers have to make when choosing the cars in same price range. Well there always be some people who want style and performance, features and everything, I guess you should look into your paycheck before you complain. As always, you get only what you paid for
I have a 2012 LX 5spd and I must say it is a much more enjoyable ride than a '94 integra by far. The interior I will say, is great and when I see the 2013 I feel like, why? They added so much it just looks and feels cluttered and mashed together. All the chrome, rear camera, bluetooth, and etc is a nice addition but fairly to much. Of course this is all just my opinion since I like to keep things simple and easy. But they are the same cars so all to their own.
1:16 I actually like the 2012's taillights better. I don't like how they extend onto the trunk- it looks too basic. But of course on the newer civic's the "C" shape of the lights that cup around is a lot nicer too.
Looks a little better. However I still dislike the radio angle towards the driver. It makes the entier dash looking awkward. The Elantra dash is still much better looking.
I don't know about "it drives like Ass". My co-worker has a Elantra. She hasn't have any problems with it.Don't get me wrong.I think the styling of the Civic could be better in and out.I've been a Honda fan since high school.I fact my first car was a used 86 prelude and I'm currently driving a 2002 Civic.
Im sorry but 19 grand base for a civic? No thanks, new Jetta, Corolla, Mazda 3, and Cruze are under 16 grand and some under 15 and still offer great features. Even though Honda did step up quite a bit
That's not normal logic. The 2012 model was an unrefined mess that should have never made it to be a redesign. The last gen before 2012 was in production from 2006-2011, that shows that Honda knew they messed up with the 2012's. I second his notion saying I feel sorry for the people buying a single production year, failed designed car.
I wonder what they'll do for the people who purchased the '12 model. The '12 was supposed to be a new redesign that should have been current for the next 5 years then they release another new design (which was needed because the '12 sucked!!!) in just 1 year. I'd fight for some sort of compensation if i were a '12 buyer because the value will take a hard hit since it'll be labeled as the "style that nobody wanted"
See what Happens when customers DEMAND better? Thanks Honda. Now Nissan customers need to demand BETTER RELIABILITY AND TO LEAVE THE RENAULT PHILOSOPHY OF LOW QUALITY/RELIABILITY OUT OF NISSANS.
What change??? Seriously disappointed with minimal touch-up effort. I was expecting much more dramatic changes to WOW the consumers. This car look just like 2012 model.
Now Uglier and more expensive than ever. I don't need to be having a party while I'm driving, so i don't need all this electronic bullshit like bluetooth, gps, backup camera, lane departure warnings, etc... My car is 24 years old and still runs fine... with all the computer crap in this car (and most new cars for that matter) that will inevitably become obsolite, I doubt we'll ever see any of these on the roads in 12 years from now
Nice car but they really have increased the price dramatically in the last few years .nineteen grand is a bit much for an econo-box .Of course were all so used to getting screwed by auto manufacturers we do not even flinch any more .All these little rattle boxes should be less than ten grand , and not just the imports . A thirty grand Ford Focus makes me gag , Great marketing makes people buy shit that drops fifty percent in a few years imagine if your house was like that ..
It still looks bad. Now it has a chrome happy face, looks like a neon from the side and has a back end that doesn't fit well with the rest of the car. Ugh honda needs new designers, Acura too!
+buildmorefarms100 Because the R18 engine has been a great engine for that same decade you say... It has been adjusted to produce up to 143 HP, for a 1.8 engine SOHC, that is simply amazing... Specially if you consider it produces more power than all engines in the Corollas from the last decade... That is why they still use the R18 engine, and now with the new model they had to change to something different because the game is changing, and everything is about turbo, and because they developed a highly efficient 2.0 engine .... Dude, dont forget that when it comes to engines, Honda is Master, because that is their main line of business, their core: ENGINES.
V-tec is played out....It was something in the 90s and early 00s but now its just a run of the mill motor just like everything else...Nothing these days has any soul anymore and its kinda sad!
Man, just took one year for the 9th gen civic to refresh. If that wasn't enough, they updated the drivetrain for 2014. Hondas on a roll.
Honda keeps looking for these type of designers and fire the last one. This is how customers looking for these days. Greatttttt jobbb! I love it
Who’s watching in 2020? 😂
i'm in love with this 2013 Honda Civic Sedan
lol yess! i love it!i almost bought the 2012 but with patience that 2013 civic is coming soon!finally i am ready to buy this awesome civic
Hey Joe, the 90s called. They want their suit back when you're done.
Thanks.
My dad bought this car and the exterior colour is coffee its very rare colour i love it so much its very quiet car than i expected.
This is a HUGE improvement over the 2012 model! It's like 2 completely different cars altogether (the 2013 vs 2012). Honda definitely hit it out of the park!

Ex-L and Touring versions of the 2013 Civic are the best. Leather seats + touch screen gps/display.
well they removed the dx option which was the most basic with no ac or radio so each trim now has great standard features, imid, pandora support, back up camera, and a lot more.
Look much better than earlier model.

But if they do upgrade the powertrain for 2014, im IN!!! 100% in!
lane departure warning and forward collision warning are only in the Accord AFAIK
Have to say, definitely impressed. May have to re-add the Civic to my potential new car line-up for 2013. Will wait to see one in person though, but the first-look opinions are promising.
Hooray! I'm proud of Honda pulling it together!
The 2013 Accord and Civic are the best cars in their respective classes...
he talks about everything safety, looks, comfort but the most important thing he didnt talk about was the engine
you know every car guy wants to know about it.
Hated it before, love it now! I feel kind of bad for people who bought a 2012 though. :/
Absolutely fantastic improvement. What great job, Honda!
This is much better as an evolution of the 2011-. Somehow the 2012 had gotten bred with a Neon. But it seems pretty expensive.
Kudos to Honda for listening to their customers!
Very impressed.
This will solidify Civic's #1 rank.
I thought Civic was a goner after what they turned out last year.
a vast improvement from to 2011, this is now looking good.
Not a bad change. I have the hybrid so it already looked better than all the civic line up and this model doesn't really have too many changes that compel me to upgrade unless my local honda dealer gives me a scorching trade in for my current car and gives a good price on the hybrid.

much much better design for the back end
The guy says the civic is available with lane departure and front collision prevention or whatever it's called and says that's amazing in a inexpensive car. In fact, the base Civic IS inexpensive, but to get those safety features, you gotta go with the Touring version, which is more expensive than the Accord.
long live the civic. people always associate Honda with poor people. news flash my company made 950,000 usd profit last year. i drive a 97 civic.
Massive improvement.
I do hope they put the honda concept c into production. It is sick.
For people who like style and features, you can always look for other cars, like Elantra. Personally, I don't like Elantra due to its bad driving performance (test drove one, felt unsafe driving it). gotta say...I am not a honda fan...but they did a nice job.
Just bought one today ayy

I have never seen a copy of a new car from the last generation before. Damn.
Beautiful car
No image stabilization on your video camera?
would this be consider the next gen? cause of a new body?
Looks a little better. However I still dislike the radio angle towards the driver. It makes the entier dash looking awkward. The Elantra dash is still much better looking.
a little bit better than the previous model just a little
Cool. I like the 2013 Sentra. Good choice.
Agreed!
Instead of making their cars look newer.. They just keep looking older and older.
I want the hatchback version to be available again.
looks good
the 2013 civic's are already in dealerships
I don't know about "it drives like Ass". My co-worker has a Elantra. She hasn't have any problems with it.Don't get me wrong.I think the styling of the Civic could be better in and out.I've been a Honda fan since high school.I fact my first car was a used 86 prelude and I'm currently driving a 2002 Civic.
This is what the '12 should have been, makes ya wonder if the '12 was a rush job...
Good job Honda, vast improvement but the new Forté looks quite superior
Im sorry but 19 grand base for a civic? No thanks, new Jetta, Corolla, Mazda 3, and Cruze are under 16 grand and some under 15 and still offer great features. Even though Honda did step up quite a bit
Whoever needs a back view camera in a car of this class, should go back to the driving school and start all over again.
That's not normal logic. The 2012 model was an unrefined mess that should have never made it to be a redesign. Wow base price for $19,000 that ain't cheap!
I wonder what they'll do for the people who purchased the '12 model. Awesome car
Should I get this or:
- Mazda 3 Sedan
- Toyota Prius
- Toyota Prius C
?
Wow they changed the bumper
See what Happens when customers DEMAND better? Thanks Honda. Now Nissan customers need to demand BETTER RELIABILITY AND TO LEAVE THE RENAULT PHILOSOPHY OF LOW QUALITY/RELIABILITY OUT OF NISSANS.
No it's not, The Fit is a Hatchback Version of the Honda City. The UK make a Civic Hatch...
Front end looks great, but the back lacks any imagination.
It sounds like this is your first Honda....
3:06 New Dash comes with Cassette Player as standard
honda has been outdoing themselves lately. surprised to see standard backup camera..
What change??? Seriously disappointed with minimal touch-up effort. I was expecting much more dramatic changes to WOW the consumers. This car look just like 2012 model.
the back looks like an Avalon now.
Much better Honda!
K.O for the previouse model
way to go honda!
dangit I got my 2012 civic back in june :/
They can just trade it in.
i want civic coupe review
Now Uglier and more expensive than ever. I don't need to be having a party while I'm driving, so i don't need all this electronic bullshit like bluetooth, gps, backup camera, lane departure warnings, etc... 2012 owners should ask for a refund.. lol or get a big discount for 2013 model
@PreludeH22A5 actually my sister has the 3, uncle a Jetta and mom another jetta all are great and are better all round cars
Do people seriously need a back up camera for a ... civic?
0:27 Shakey cam guys?
honda has become such a desperate company~ i mean doing a refresh after one year?? thats unheard of LOL what about people who purched the 2012 model
I bet you the 2012 model buyers feel like shitt now LMAO....thats why you NEVER buy a car the 1st year it comes out
honda and toyota are stubborn. who would buy this over elantra/forte or focus?
It still looks bad. Now it has a chrome happy face, looks like a neon from the side and has a back end that doesn't fit well with the rest of the car. Ugh honda needs new designers, Acura too!
Complete redesign? They have been using the same engine for over a decade....
Ever hear of punctuation, Michael? Your comment makes no sense if read as written....and you are calling me the idiot? LOL!!!!
+buildmorefarms100 Because the R18 engine has been a great engine for that same decade you say... It has been adjusted to produce up to 143 HP, for a 1.8 engine SOHC, that is simply amazing... I have never been sold on the civic design... looks too cheap compared to its rivals
GIVE ME ONE TYPE R!!!!!!
Always liked the Civic but the design on this is just hideous
I wish I could get the 2013 civic too poor.
I believe u have no head room in the civic cause ur head is touching the roof......thumbs down to honda civic, cause they making cars for small people
No thank you...same bullshit....there better fun cars out there
Still, the dashboard is ugly... Honda is losing me...
Ugliest civic ever made!!
fucc that shit its not a honda
