Really Nice. Best of both worlds, I can always tell its a Lake when one is flying over, without even looking up. They have a very distinct sound, just like the Cessna 336/337. Great video Cory, Thanks!
Hey Cory, curious about the buccaneer! How long can you leave it floating in the water? The 172s at our school stay in the water but I imagine with the retract gear it would slowly take on water. Beautiful flying by the way! Subbed for more content!
I'm not aware of many people that keep amphibians on the water for any prolonged period of time. My Buccaneer was water tight but I still didn't leave it on the water for more than a couple hours at a time.
Morning, that first landing was beautiful, then again nearly all your landings are good. But tell me why you speak so fast when on the radio. But when you speak to us its back to normal speed. Thank you.wiz
👍got shamed into life vest eh?🤓 Been reading up on actual numbers… seems for my 500 acre MI lake, a light sport may be safer bet. Got the SES & a parking spot now back & forth on ownership plan…
The glide ratio of the Renegade and Buccaneer are dependent on whether gear and flaps are up or down. With Gear & Flaps down, the glide ratio is basically the same as a safe full of gold bars. 😀
@@CoryJohnsonpilot If you were doing a water landing gear up would you have more time or the design and weight of the aircraft still going to cause you to drop pretty quickly? Thanks for the reply
There is significantly less aerodynamics drag with the gear up, so it glides better with the wheels in the wells vs down and locked. You can land them "dead stick" but it's a much softer landing if you keep a little bit of power in.
@@CoryJohnsonpilot They look like very well built aircraft . Did the company go out of business? I never heard of them until I accidentally found one on You tube. Thanks for the reply
@@guspappas7792 You'd have to check the performance charts for the different planes to see if they can takeoff/land in a lake of that size. Straight float planes typically have shorter takeoff/land distances since they don't have the weight of the wheels and retraction mechanisms. Good Luck in your search!
Beautiful aircraft. Just something about a flying hull! I hope we see a well done model in the flight simulator one day!
Looks so fun
Very good video, learned alot...thanks
Glad to hear it!

Thank you very much!
could you show some heavier loads? maybe 4 pax...land and water?
Nicely done! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Yep, nice airplane, nice video.
Thanks a lot!
I have flowen a lake buccaneer Dad was a cfi
How nice is that... you can fly to your house!
It's pretty awesome.... 😀
surprised you don't leave your hand on the throttle for takeoff - I've had some surprises

For ever dude! Love the Buccaneer
Understand what you are saying! Like a boat
@@CoryJohnsonpilot do you not have it anymore?

Yes you can.
Enjoying you videos.... is that the prop control on the roof behind the throttle?
The Throttle, Prop & Mixture controls are located on the ceiling. The round knob behind the throttle is the mixture control. Thanks for watching!

Question, how does it handle on the ocean, is it a real 4 seater?
Dream plane
The question is, can you get it out again?
That is a very true point.
How long have you been flying? Have you had to do a dead stick in one these? Do they drop like a rock?

Is a 1500 foot long x 1300 wide lake ,long enough to take off and land ? Thanks
I wouldn’t land on a lake that short.
@@CoryJohnsonpilot Would there be exceptions in amphibians ? LIke an icon a5 or vickers amphibian etc,on a lake 1500 feet long. Many thanks

Time to buy a BUSH PLANE ;o)
Seriously considering one of these over a Cessna 172 or Piper as a first plane. I may be dreaming, but they just look like so much fun!
you know my dad
Looks like a duck! Sounds like a duck! ....
