Love your videos, had an introductory flight years ago with a "nut job" at the controls, landed in a slew and proceeded to perform high speed taxi ,scared the crap out of me but I fell in love with the plane!
Always been a fav......based on the looks and abilities alone.....I've never been in one, so I enjoy riding along with you. I've heard (once) that if those big trim tabs are not set properly, it is impossible to get up on the step on water.....is this true or false?
Unlike most planes where the elevator trim tabs are tiny compared to the overall size of the elevator, Lake trim tabs are absolutely massive and basically serve as part of the elevator. It is very important for them to be set properly for takeoff. Because of that, I never tried taking off without properly setting the trim for takeoff. The weight on the elevator or back pressure needed to overcome an improper trim setting would probably be possible, but it’d be a real workout for the biceps.
Still love the Lakes. One day I’ll get to fly one. Keep the vids coming. No flight is too small.
This is the plane I learned to fly with. Forever love this craft. Seawind was next
Very informative video. Thank you for making this one.
Glad it was helpful!
Nice aircraft, and always good to get some practice in.
It sure is! Thanks for watching!

The Lake is absolutely a jetski with wings!
Nice video, I’m enjoying the videos. I flew one once and I remember it felt like a tank on the controls. Super cool airplane!
Thanks for watching! They say the Buccaneer and Renegade glide like bricks. I think that's a bit optimistic! Safe Skies!
