    Great review. I've been looking to tackle my first RC project. As a fellow Canadian, where did you source your parts? Lots of build part lists source US sites. I'd like to buy domestic, but it doesn't seem easy. Any leads to where you got your non printable parts?

      Hey man, it's tough sourcing parts up here in the great white north. I feel your pain. For this model I was able to grab a bunch of stuff off amazon but for most others I order from china off aliexpress and just plan 45 days in advance. You can find some stuff at hobby shops at ok prices but they just don't have the selection. Aliexpress/banggood are where I end up getting most of the stuff I need.

    Hello sir, I've been researching the open rc f1 car and I wanted to ask if you knew anything about the open rc RS-01 chassis, specifically the senna tribute McLaren?

    Will these parts fit on the Prusa Mini without scaling? Great review, thank you!

      Hey, great question. I just pulled up my slicer and everything fits easily except for the two main chassis pieces. The size of the build plate is 180mm but the pieces are actually 180.4mm so they technically don't fit. But you MIGHT be able to get it to fit if you print without a skirt and somehow bypass warnings saying you're too close to the edge, or trim off .4 mm of the pieces. If you try it let me know how it goes! I unfortunately don't have a mini of my own to test on.

    For the 12mm hex 1:10 wheel adapters and those specific tires you used do you still need the same type of bearings (8x12x3.5). Thanks

      Yup same exact bearings.

    I am planning my build out of a mix of PETG and PLA. I started the touring car but kind of lost interest, it is about 80% complete. I can't find drive belts for it. For this car I plan to use the rear diff mod and I may try some TPU tires initially.

      Hey man, here are the belts for the Veltro if you still need em: rcprinter.com/products/veltro-belts
      TPU tires are fun to test with but I'd recommend these when you're looking for more traction: rcprinter.com/products/f104-tires-for-openrc-f1-front-and-rear

    How much filament does it use

    • @rcprinter
      @rcprinter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm gonna estimate about 500g of filament total. Maybe a little more if you're printing the tires.

      The car is pretty light so haven't had any overheating issues yet.
