still impressed by how much utility the weapon art gives you. The moveset is also quite good for mixups. Really important for heavy weapons.
My favorite weapon. Not even the damage, the movesets is amazing.

I've been watching these arena showcases for years and for years I'm hearing Chase tell himself to do arena videos at different times but not follow through with it lmao
Just a heads up chase, Crucifix is special in that it has Greatsword poise health instead of normal poise health. Another tip is that rolling attack recovery into L2 is very low both 1h and 2h so you can bait people very hard with it. Also, L2 has almost infinite HA so it can go through everything against all weapons.
Hey Chase! Halberds can't trade with Greatswords (the highest they can trade with is fellow halberds)! But the Crucifix has roughly the same hyperarmour as a greatsword ❤️

I remember fighting this weapon for the first time in a Fight Club (I don't have DLC) and the little dark chasing bomb saved my life after the host decided to fight me after killing all the red boys. I had a medium shield, the thing explode on him and it broke my guard, but I was the last one standing in pontiff bonfire with 13 HP. It was so epic, I recorded and still watch it some times

11:54 Earth Seeker, Wolnir's Holy Sword, Morne's Hammer and Dragonslayer Greataxe are interesting Str/Faith weapons that you can play around with. But of course you can always just have heavy-infused weapons + darkmoon blade
A str/faith build is one of the strongest builds around, you get high are weapons such as the Exile and Crucifix, mixed with buffs such as DMB or Dark Blade as well as health restoring miracles such as Bountiful Light.
Tho depends on how much attunement you want
Don't forget about Lothric Knight Ultra. Insanely strong on a build like this.

11:30 at +2 it increases length by 35% which makes dark blade go from 60 seconds to 84 i believe

2:55 Crucifix has greatsword poise-health, allowing you single trades with 2h greatsword r1s if you have more than 42.04 poise. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I also believe the Crucifix L2 alone will reset your poise health to 100%.

Yes! This is one of my favorite weapons! So happy to see you rock this Chase. Btw! I see you swap faith ring on and off for ToD a lot, BUT did you know Faith Ring has another nifty trick? You can do that for extra damage when casting weapon spell buffs.
If you caste with the faith ring, you can get upwards of 25 extra AR after you buff (equivalent to having Lloyd’s Sword ring) , you can take your faith ring off AND the AR still remains the same. You only need to keep the faith ring on the moment you caste the weapon spell buff, not afterwards.

Edit: I forgot to add that I rock this weapon on a pure dark build +5 plus buffing with Human Pine Resin. That triple combo with the scream is just so nice.
3:07 you had enough poise because the Crucifix actually has Greatsword poise instead of halberd
I used this weapon some time ago, I don't know if it's been nerfed but I ran a very similar build to yours, but with 60 faith. I also used the blindfold mask and Morne's ring and I think I had around 820 AR while two handed. Give it a try!

Love the moveset on this one, never tried swaps with it tho
if you want a good str/fth build go offhand rose of ariandel 40str/40fth DMB or lightning blade rose has good spell buff and its an unparrable club with pike range, heavy millwood axe with rose lightning buff does about 630ar 1handed and comboes from L1 to R1 rose/axe usually does about 700 damage XD or just go claymore
One of my favorite dlc weapons. One of my favorite weapons in whole game. My strength faith build with this weapon murders.
I've gotten higher damage with a strength infused great mace with the lightning blade buff and Oath
I like the GM move set a lot more, and that Oath of Sunlight really makes the difference
I forget the stats, but I was able to do that build in SL133
Gotta do duel wielding painting guardian sword. Get some parrys from the offhand left trigger animation
I have a build that uses that weapon, Morne's Hammer, and a Claymore, at Sl125. I am proud of that one. Is my favourite build.

6:30 hes clearly waiting for the buff to wear out, which is a solid strat for fighting against a buff build, and a weapon that outclasses his in terms of damage and range.
Just picked this weapon up, i love it. Get 955 damage with lightning blade, lightning clutch, dark clutch rings. Lloyds sword. Deep protection. So fun
Crucifix has greatsword poise so to tank another R1 2 handed of another GS you need 40 poise, so you have enough.
Little bonus you need at least to have 23,13 of poise to tank any 2 handed R1 of any weapons ( Great hammers included i tested against Ledo's) with the L2.

A few things missed in this is that the r1, l2, r2 doesn't combo, it was removed and now just l2, r2 combos. That being said, the l2 gives insane hyper armor and instead of throwing out r1 you can us the l2 if someone is just fishing for bsckstabs is it comes out faster and has better tracking. The r2 is also really good at roll catching.
@Chase: You could try a Lightning Great Mace on a Str/Fth build. It gets pretty high AR

Playing recently really want this weapon to be my dark weapon of choice lol dark faith/intelligence build with some strength and dexterity

Astora GS revisited, and in comparison to Lothric knight GS.
The crucifix of the mad king is just prone to so much bs at times and I love it.
+2 Lingering Dragoncrest Ring will extend buff from 60 sec to 84 sec. So, 1.5 times longer.

Either way, 24 extra seconds is worth the ring slot!

I played through this game 3 times and I’ve never even heard of this thing
The only way to fit this on a build is on a high level build with miracles and str weapons, the classic arrow casting ledos buddy.
I use it on my sl13 here and there. No dark blade but the human pine resin is good enough.
Dragonslayer Greataxe would fit on a Strength/Faith build I reckon? Also, Halberd next please, I won't stop suggesting it! xD
Dragonslayer greataxe doesnt get much of a difference in ar with faith investment than if you just use a strength build, because of the weight you end up investing more in vitality depending on whether you hyper armor

I might me mistaken but I believe I've read somewhere that the crucifix has the hyper armor of a hammer or greathammer (not sure which one), maybe that's why you were able to trade with the MGS
It has the ha of a greatsword. Also the l2 has ton of ha, with enough poise you can trade with basically every weapon in the game

Crucifix of the Mad King is in the same poise class as a greatsword. That's why you traded.

Does anyone know a counter to this, especially if there is some latency as well? Fast weapons don’t work for me here because I end up trading too much and you can’t afford to do that more than 1 or 2 times. I’d just try to chip it down with a spear?

I get like 817 AR with darkmoon blade with 60 Faith. The dark buff gives 25 less AR with the five extra levels. Weird how that 5 extra levels makes darkmoon better.

Morne Greathammer next? :))) I am ngl to I think personally that this weapon deals a bit too much damage from just an r1 basically. Its more than half your health gone even with full havel as seen.

-Crucifix Of The Mad King
-Lothric Knight Greatsword
-Exile Greatsword
-Dragonslayer Greataxe
For now,I left COTMK on the shelf for Blessed LKGS and that thing is a monster.
