The fact that it takes a long time to kill them with this thing gives them time to fully grasp that they're being killed by the player, not by the weapon.
If you get a parry and riposte with the hornet ring, the damage will be equivalent to one hit of the lothric knight straight sword.

Best weapon in the game by far. Roll catches like a god. R1 spams like a god. Stunlocks like a god. And best of all, it stops estus recovery. Except everything I said was a lie, and it's all bullshit. Lmao

This weapon is actually nice as a tool in invasions. You can hit the host with the weapon or a whole gank (phantom range), pull out your main weapon and watch all of them wasting their estus beacuse this weapon lowers the estus flask level.
Yeah, you could use it as an off hand for invasions and get decent mileage with it... but like... you could also just do more damage.

Funny thing tho, I'm the Mislav guy and I started to use the black knight greataxe after watching one of your invasion videos... This was yesterday, I think. Twas an honor to get my ass wooped by you mate! :D
I have TWO suggestions:
1) [Gael's] Repeating Crossbow
2) Notched Whip
Also just a general suggestion: Try winning an arena match using only items. Knives, bombs, urns, dung piles, etc.
I think it would be near impossible to win with items only with an invasion unless it's a low soul level where they don't have much estus uses or many items that can cure poison/toxic.

Pretty sure the variable damage is the "Sweet Spot" mechanic, by the by.
About that varying damage: it probably was Leo Ring counter thrust damage effect. Normal attacks didn't have counter bonus, so it their damage was lower.

In this video I noticed close to every player changed weapons against the soldering iron and trying hard to win because losing to that of all weapons is equivalent to an insult to your skill level depending how you take it. like ds2 key of the embedded it can be used and great for pvp practice because it's a test your patience weapon and see and learn things about your opponent you haven't noticed before. Like you can beat anybody with a broken broken straight sword and yes I mean double broken but it's how you use it and how you play. That and their taking you seriously is because their suddenly getting their butts kicked and attacks stuffed and notice they cant do anything about it so the feeling of holy shit I'm getting my ass kicked by this piece of shit weapon no way I'm not letting that happen kinda thing lol
I think so too, but it's quite depressing. I understand that people don't want to lose to bullshit but if your opponent uses the worst weapons to have fun and still wins people should accept their defeat and maybe take inspiration from their enemies skill. I use ridiculous set ups at times and still encounter many sweatlords but this video showed me the epitome of human despair.

Chase i think you might be the only person that actually got to use the soldering iron effect IN THE FUCKING 1v1 ARENA against the guy who chugged with CE.
This weapon has the added sinister value.. it's kind of scary getting mashed with this thing. Also, was there a bad Japanese translation? It should be the _branding_ iron. shouldn't it? Either way, it is certainly quite annoying to get beat by this thing.. I would imagine..
I believe this calls for some actual Invasions with this weapon...

Fun fact: this weapon reduces HP healed from the estus flask to its base level. Estus being 250 HP and Ashen Estus 300 FP 👍🏼 if you think about it, sure it gets bad damage but it’s like getting an extra 350 damage when your opponent heals. (If they have +10 estus) maybe it’s usable as an offhand weapon and when your opponent is on low/medium health?
I think I'm too old to truly git gud. But I live through Chase.
It’s actually okay as an anti-twink weapon at lower levels. The wiki says it drops the estus recovery amount to its base level but I don’t think it’s actually that much. Still helps to ruin SL10 invaders with 7 +10 flasks since all they ever level is health.

Hey man, big fan, as a fan of dark souls myself, i am terrible at pvp. I think it’d be really cool if you could get some clips in your vids of you analyzing your opponents moves and vocalizing how to react. I just think me and a lot of other peeps would totally be in to that ; )

I'd like to see the four pronged plow next. I think it's one of the more underrated weapons in the game that's actually good.
Use the clerics candlestick or the javelin. Both are such fun weapons.

I kinda want to see Chase use the Golden Ritual Spear. It's not a particularly funny weapon, but I think the mix up potential is very interesting.

I think you get the most damage when you hit them spot on with the tip of the weapon.
This weapon is just to apply a debuff not a main weapon just a tool it lowers your flask lvl so estus heals as lvl 1
