    I began tying these last fall. The midnight fire dubbing is the bomb, when combined with the hot bead in a balanced approach. I tie these with and without the tail and with and without the collar. Without the tail it actually fishes really well in the dead of winter in rivers. With the tail it fishes well in spring and fall, and it is killer in stillwater!

    with a midge or a san juan worm underneath the leech absolutely kills it in south idaho still water especially with no indicator on a float tube or with indicator in the wind

    This pattern was responsible for 16 Bass in 3 hours fished under an indicator and bounced along the bottom. Other colors were refused.
