Nice vid. Glad to see someone doing well on Henry's lake. I've not been doing well there for the past couple of years.

Thanks Phil. Nice video on the action on Henry’s lake. I spend up to a month there every year in June.

Great video as always, might want to try a short strip-pause at various speeds. This technique has been deadly for me, especially when the other options aren't producing takes.
    Thanks Phil

I had a fish hammer a retrieved indicator and took the fly on the way down.(October 15). This has happened more than once. I had a fly and indicator dangling out about 20 ft and was moving to another spot, float waking across the surface, the fly set at 8 ft and a chrome 8 lb buck attacked! I no longer believe you have to subtly move the fly with an indicator. It doesn't seem to scare them. I then started to aggressively strip the indicator, and immediately started to hook fish. Prior to this action I spent 15 minutes carefully moving the fly in 1 inch strips, and got nothing.

All I ever think about when I see this lake is how you're the first to go if the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts lmao

Thanks, Phil! You mentioning you prefer a “long” rod for this style of fishing (two flies, swivel, indicator, thin tippet and leader, etc). What length rod and weight did you use in this video? The big white label gives away the brand and model…😉
