I miss my old girl. 99 Yukon with the 5.7L, leather bench seats made it feel like driving a couch. No matter the abuse she just kept going and would not die. Unfortunately age + NY rust killed the frame. RIP Bertha.
What a poorly researched list. Expeditions with Ecoboost are now trash due to Cam Phasers. GM’s Suburban and equiv Cadillac, GMC models are trash since 2015 due to that trash 10-speed transmission, and gobs of electrical problems. Sequoias and land cruisers are being recalled for CORE engine defects, solution still yet to be determined, but there’s NO WAY you can say they are or will be reliable. Honda Pilot was famous for transmission failures. Disappointed in your lack of research sir. You are not helpful to consumers and coming more across as a shill
That survey is about cars that today have 200k miles or more, and sure as shit none of the cars you mentioned achieve that because they have not gotten to those numbers, but the numbers will look worse once they get there because they're all unreliable now.
Wow this is really badly researched. Wrong images of cars, wrong video to what he's talking about and yeah he talks as if this is about the current models.
Can you Name an engine that's never had any issues? The average piston has to deal with essentially being slugged in the face by Mike Tyson with lead filled gloves 15-30 times a second four hundreds of hours straight, the rest of the engine has to contain and transfer all that force, it's a marvel of engineering that they even run for a few seconds, much less several years. With these kinds of requirements, you'll ALWAYS Have a failure rate The question is, when do they fail What's the failure rate on cars under 100k miles, or under 200k miles? Like he said in the video, an average of 1% of all cars ever sold even made it to 200k miles, and probably half of them were simply never driven that far due to being parked or sold.
The market is so boring. Whole lot of trucks and mini boxes.. Miss the days of the "car".. Too bad most cars cost over 100k and are either made only by BMW, Audi, Honda, and now Hyundai stepped up.
Ranking a modern BMW up there with toyotas in terms of reliability is just 100% completely false, misleading, and shows poor research. Modern german cars (from the 00's and up) come nowhere NEAR toyotas. Especially BMW. Mercedes Diesels, maybe. But BMW? absolutely not. They are entirely eletronic controlled plastic pieces of junk that are incredibly complicated and expensive to fix, and they need to be fixed a lot. And dont even get me started on theowing Chevy up here as well. What a joke
Electronics are not inherently unreliable. Take the bmw engine they put in the supra, designed with direct input from toyota engineers, its a fantastic engine with tons of electronic controls but is still very reliable Or perhaps the toyota 5.7 Again, excessive electronics everywhere, even has an electronic AIR injection system on several years. Never heard anyone call a toyota 5.7 unreliable. BMW engines dont fail because of the amount of electronics, they fail because theyre not designed with thhe average owner or long term reliability in mind.
Note the list only applies to the vehicles to pre-2021 ( Lockdowns) which for Toyota was reliable None Turbo V6 and V8's. All after were due new employees, and not hood with Quality and Engineering who think that mounting Turbos without insulation blanket next to Engine without a Heat Shield between them. Is good enough and I lived thru 2 Engines with Turbos within 1.5 years. I will never buy any vehicle with Turbos unless it it's a Porsche, which mount them in the quarter panels next to side intakes. Away from the engine block.
I'm sure the X5 can run for a long time, granted that a lot of money goes into the maintenance of course. But with BMW's history (and really any European brand as well) that people have known about, the X5 over the years has been notorious for a lot of engine issues. The SUV that should've been #1 on this list is the Toyota Rav4.
Ideal Cars are wrong about new Toyota 2023 and above new engine especially with V35A Twin Turbo with Tundra Sequoia Land Cruiser 300 series Lexus LX600 is absolutely least reliable engine, electrical problems, Engine failure, Transmission issues, expensive to replace the engine to deal with it, breaking issues, quality issues, and CR are lying about the whole truthful engine, stay away from those and get UR series 4.6s and 5.7s V8, the V35A will always ALWAYS 🫵 be broken
The BMW properly powered, and quality service is a good combo. Works for me.

RIP Bertha.
What about the RAV4? Not really a list of reliable SUVS without a RAV.
Seeing a CRV without RAV 4 was wrong
google ISeeCars vehicles over 200,000 miles and read the article about their study, it will make way more sense than this video
2014 4runner. Best vehicle I've ever owned.
Audi Q5; the 1st gen 3.0 TDI. here in Slovenia there’s alot over 350k and in germany even more. And they still run
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the Lexus GX470!
I expected to see it #1 of the list
That should be the first clue to not take this list Seriously.
@Anomize23 I wouldn't go to that far, For all the others are right
I own a 4Runner and a Supra. I’m hoping they will be the last cars I have to buy until my 50s or 60s. I’m 34.
What about 2015-2020 chevrolet tahoe ? ?

You're more knowledgeable than this clown
You expected realistic research from ideal?
Also keep in mind many of these specs dont take into account user neglect

The 5.7 is showing issue from yota

I saw a Toyota the other day and said to myself “wow-wee that is an automobile”

The Toyota LC and Nissan Patrol are known to last 500k miles +

The 3.4 is an abomination
@greathey1234 I agree 3.4 is all things wrong and it isn't the only brand Ford Ecoboost, and GM EcoTech are both EcoTragic. lol 👦👍❣️🏎🏁🚩 V8's Forever
Didn't get past the 3 seconds mark 😅😅😅 bmw's😂😂😂😂😂
BMW 😂
Just for the record, X5 and X6 are amongst the most expensive SUVs to maintain surpassing even Bentleys
I'm sure the X5 can run for a long time, granted that a lot of money goes into the maintenance of course.
