Learning a new language sometimes might be frustrating, as it requires so much time and efforts, but we can't deny the joyful moments when you make progress ..
Absolutely. Especially it is more difficult to learn a brand new language, I mean you learn a kind of language which is from different language family when compared to your mother language. I’m a Chinese, and factually I’m learning English. Sometimes I find the process is frustrating.
Very interesting video. I was raised bilingual and became with time, effort, studies, and love for the languages, polyglot. I am today fluent in 7 languages and learning my 8th.. I have 7 recorders and I love to switch among them :)
I've been learning English for a year and half and it's fun most of the time ! yes there are those moments when I struggle to understand a certain word or a certain grammar structure but as soon as i found out the meaning it feels so good
I am still learning english and i think this woman have a really big talent. The way she talk the way she's examples was amazing. Very good talk for both speaker and the listener. ❤
To be honest, it's so captivating how languages are working. Like when you learn new languages you also know your own too, so always when you heard something in language that you learn and you understand it even a little bit it brings me some thoughts like wow how the brain is working. You can understand one word in different languages, whole phrase in different languages and it is so unusually fascinating
The best show l've ever seen. l'm Azerbaijani and study for learning English. l'm surprised that how l understood this show so comfortible. And it's so proudful to feel this moment. Thank you girl! You helped me to feel me more good. Noticed l know English well :)💗✨
In answer to the initial "why?" question. I accidentally discovered Western classical music on the radio at age 9 and was hooked for life. That drove me to dig deeper, so in high school a few years later, I did 4 years of French and German. Numerous benefits. Unfortunately, most everyone here in California, except many Latinx folks and immigrants, only speaks one language so I never get to practice with other people. To keep my languages basically alive, I do sundry things like reading Quora out loud in French and German plus attending stream media in those languages. Due to lack of direct practice, my two-way conversational skills are weak. On rare occasions speaking French with someone, my brain may insert a German word when I've forgotten the French word for something and vice versa. These days, what I really need is Spanish, and I should do that.
One year ago I started to study English language, It has been very difficult for my because I consider that I don't have much talent for the languages but watching this video has motivated me. I´ll go on in this path.
I have some experience to learning languges. Im learning english since my school years but i couldunt speak. Later i found perfect method. The best way to learning langugaes is listening. I try to listenijg every day someting in english. Right now i can speak, i understant, exlplain my thought and vs. i know i make a mistake but they are normal. English is not my native)) i start to learning spanish. Best way is watching cartoon and listening every day. Good luck everyone❤
After that, I recommend that you study writing to improve your skills and avoid some mistakes, of course: Making mistakes is totally normal, however if you want to improve your skills you have to learn with them. 🎉
2:03 Mother chose English for me. We went to US for a summer and one big reason was, it was time for me to start learning English. "Couldn't we learn French instead" English it was. I took French later at age 13 (this was at age 9).
Never give up! I realized who has persistence mind In this way is successful, I'm learning English with my 2 youngest kids , i'm about to fluent, i started my journey just before 6 months ..
She spoke very well. I am very greatfull that I am learning English for several years as well and that's rigth I do some mistakes yet even I am learning for a long time.
Thank you very much for such an astonishing speech! I've been waiting to finally see it and it was so inspiring! Thank you for what you do. I feel so proud of you!
Many people say that learning a new language is like running a marathon, I disagree profoundly. When you ran in a marathon like it or not there will be an end. Language change, evolve, learning a new language is something that you need to embrace forever!
I've been learning English for the past month. English is completely different from my native language. So it's very difficult for me. But I think learning a new language is a journey to new people, new cultures and new worlds. Learning a new language is fun and exciting. That encourages me to keep going.
I am an Indian, It is common for us to speak 2-3 languages. I can speak three languages and now i am learning German. The best way to learn a language is to build a separate personality for a language inside us.
When people ask why as a native speaker living in California I am learning Mandarin, I tell them because it opens the door to adventure. It also increases cultural understanding, and as you so eloquently say, it’s also good for our mental health. 😊
There was a Danish study years ago where they scanned university students at the beginning and the end of their studies. Foreign languages was the only topic that showed growth in brain structure! It creates new neuropaths and strengthens the brain.
Yes I have been learning English as a second language for approximately 5years not for job opportunities, educational purposes and everyday lives etc. but for my Intimacy with english. I have an idea to learn Japanese language but my intimacy with Japanese was strange for me so my second language is still English.
Oh My God! U will be lucky if I could live in English countries. I love to learn straight forward from the native English speakers through generosity and kindness. So, help me to there urgently.

Absolutely. Especially it is more difficult to learn a brand new language, I mean you learn a kind of language which is from different language family when compared to your mother language. I’m a Chinese, and factually I’m learning English. Sometimes I find the process is frustrating.
Learning a new language means you are going to learn about a completely different culture, and that is fun!
Definitely! Culture is part of the learning process.

Maneouvering between languages is sport for the brain. The more languages you learn as a child, the easier it is to learn more.
There was a Danish study years ago where they scanned university students at the beginning and the end of their studies. Foreign languages was the only topic that showed growth in brain structure! It creates new neuropaths and strengthens the brain.
