With driving instructions from my dad and your videos I PASSED MY EXAM. Had 2 minor faults (drove a bit slower at some point). THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP! Examiner also asked me to pull over on the right hand side of the road, which I never practiced in real life but I watched your video on it and used common sense haha, so thank you AGAIN! 😃 Once I started the test I got so much more confident, and I also tried talking to examiner because they are people and I hate awkward silences lol. Just what I needed! Started up driving lessons AGAIN, I'm an anxious person day to day but driving is something I've always been worried to do, I'm more worried of other peoples actions on the road which throws me off especially at traffic lights or junctions I panic if someone is behind me and I stall and stall and stall because I'm panicking I don't want to hold them up 🥺
It helps to remember that people behind you will see you are a learner and they will be patient. It also helped me to arrenge first few lessons in the area I knew better so i didn't have to worry about what's coming after turns. If you are still anxious maybe try to check with your instructor if you can do the same? Being around a place you know as a pedestrian or cyclist could make you more confident as a driver
I've stalled many times when on a slight slope because I use handbrake, and I realise that when it goes wrong the first time, I start panicking and it goes all wrong again and again until I decide to stop worrying about everyone behind me, take a deep breath and do everything at my own pace. It's very difficult driving with anxiety, but it will get better eventually, just don't give up. And yes, do accept the fact that you'll be making mistakes, you'll be stalling, but keep telling yourself you're doing well, concentrate on what you can do now and couldn't do before rather than what you can't do well yet.
I discovered your channel last weekend and I am so happy I did. I passed my driving license three weeks ago and bought myself a car last week. So far I went driving a couple of times with an experienced driver (hi, mom) as a passenger, but today evening I am supposed to drive for forty minutes alone for the first time ever. I know it seems silly, given it's a short trip, but I was really anxious about it this morning, I've checked the route twice on Google Maps already to get familiar with where I need to go, but watching part 1&2 of overcoming anxiety really helped me loads. I am still recovering mentally from being tooted at last week for stalling at a junction during my first actual drive, and I know I need to accept the fact that I am going to make mistakes and instead channel that energy to focus on what I'm doing. Thank you so much, I will be binge watching your content in the upcoming weeks, trying to do quick maths in my head to convert miles/h to km/h as I am outside the UK. :D

I just passed my driving exam and your videos are absolute gold, it helped me so much. (Even tho I'm not from UK, it still helped!) They are just the best!!! Thank you so much for your input and hard work on them! ❤️
I cannot thank you enough Richard. Your videos have helped me tremendously in understanding the driving techniques and gaining confidence. I passed my test last week. Thank you so much!
I can't thank you enough for taking the time to make these outstanding videos! I'm a 19 year old man who just got a learners permit about a month ago and we can't come close to being able to afford driving lessons, so videos are about all I have to go by and your videos are by far my favorite. Words can't express how much your advice is helping me to become a better driver and get over my fear of driving. I have learned so much from you and I continue to learn every time I drive or watch your videos. Keep up the great work, I will watch your videos as long as you keep making them!
Passed 1st time today with 4 minors, thank you very much for all your videos; I didn't practice with an instructor, only with my mum, much appreciated 👍
It's almost been a year since I've been learning how to drive and there's so much pressure for me to pass first time and I literally cannot drive still, anyone got advice?? I'm just so slow 😔 Edit: Passed first time early September and had to drive all the way to Exeter and get used to their roads 😳 but I really appreciate these videos, I still watch them now as I get used to the hills!!!
That's 100% true! The day I drive with confidence, my instructor says I did very well. On the other hand, the day I make 1 mistake and loose my confidence, I keep on making silly mistakes.
Thank you so much for this series. I’m not a new driver by any means, i actually used to be praised as a fantastic driver. However, I learned in an automatic (im American lol) and recently purchased a manual. It’s embarrassing but it’s been helpful working and acknowledging my anxiety (especially since I’m a car enthusiast!) Thanks again!
Surprisingly enough, after passing the anxiety was completely exchanged with confidence. I don't feel like I'm proving anything anymore to pass - I'm driving now.
This anxiety series has been really helpful. I've just started to learn to drive again after 3 years of putting it off after a bad experience with one instructor. I've also decided to swap to auto as it takes my mind off keeping the car under control and keeps my eyes on the road. After 8 hours I no longer feel anxiety when I set off and just the natural nerves one may feel when learning a new process. Right now my Kryptonite is roundabouts but who's isn't? 😂
@@xtremegamer3621 It's the best thing ive decided to do so 10/10. as it just means you jst have to focus on the road and what people are doing rather than having to worry about changing gears when slowing etc. I have processing issues due to having dyslexia and dyspraxia and so only having one thing to think about is ideal as it keeps my head clear of any stress. the only stressful thing is the idiots who have a full license on the roads around you haha if your in doubt, take up someone who offers a special offer on say 4 hours worth of lessons as once you have had those it will definitely give you an idea if auto is the best thing to do for you.
I don't think any Driving Instructor talks about this topic. Appreciate your effort. Understanding his learners is the most important trait of a good trainer. 👍🏻
I have my test tomorrow guys, i have watched this channel with some other amazing driving structures channel, ithas helped me learn so much, thank you all guys for the great community WISH ME LUCK!
Love your videos Richard, although I live in Ireland the rules of the road are basically identical and I've found your videos a massive help. Thank you 👍
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you so much again. I’ve been driving by myself for 2 weeks with P plate on, and this video totally hits all the points I’ve been worried/ scared/ thinking about!
I want to thank you Richard because, you take the time to do these very helpfull videos and like others had said, you understand what it feels like to feel scared and underpressure and that really means a lot to me because last year when i got my license, i was trying to prove to my family that i could drive but in the process i ended up making a lot of mistakes instead of focusing in what i was doing and by watching your videos i understood that, so, thank You very much for the help and please never stop sharing these knowledge with people 😊
Also, another factor which caused these was that after having my license, i didn't had a lot of opportunities to drive until covid hit and i started working with my parents all summer and the pressure of knowing the street names and driving correctly, only made things worse so thank you!!!
Great, well-though-through advice. I love points no. 4 and 5. It is interesting, that with age one indeed stops caring about the embarassement, but pays more attention to one's own mortality (as well as mortalities of others. For point 6, I would also add anxiety about damaging your car (by oneself or others, especially if one has an expensive car). :D Also, "You've got to face the music" made me laugh out loud.
Learning to feel more confident enough for my test and for being a safe enough driver as a mum of one toddler and one baby due early next year. This is my main priority that i can drive for them not just for this test. If i pass i still need to watch more cideos abd practice to be a safe wnougb driver until i can go out on my own with my daughter in the back seat. I feel okay overall about my driving skills but when i start to get anxious and stressed out about one mistake i can't continue and need to take a breather before i get back in the car and i can't be doing this all my life. His advice is great.
You are the best! I’m so glad I came across your channel!!! All of your videos are so detailed and is helping me with my lessons! Thanks so much again! Xxx
I'm usually not the comments writer, but all your videos works sooooo well for me, the content I have seen already including your MANNER OF SPEECH😊😊😊 (I'm latvian originally and sometimes it's still sooo hard to understand everything clearly🤣) MORE than amazing. Fair Play 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Been watching your videos since last year and what I can say its truly helpful for aspiring and struggling new drivers, Really your content is one of a kind as you understand the worries and anxiety students are going through . This video i played many times before I took my TP test just today . As a foreigner who took a chance to get this lifetime skill here in Singapore, your virtual support through your videos is really one of the best.!!Guess what , I just pass first time , never been happier and many many thanks to you ❤❤❤
I just found this video and wow you knocked the nail on the head! I’m a generally anxious person and I’m about 10 hours into learning in an auto. On my lesson on Friday it was going really well, I had driven into the next town and back absolutely fine and I was feeling good, then at the roundabout on the way home I was looking in my left mirror for too long and curbed the car on the roundabout 🤦♀️😳 then I felt like crap, was apologetic to the instructor because I thought I damaged his car ( I didn’t ), I managed to join the link road back home fine after that but the negative thoughts are creeping back in. And I’m up at 3am writing this because I have a lesson at 9:15 🤦♀️ and I’m a ‘ mature ‘ learner at age 39
Thank you for making this video. The day I got a manual car my father never wanted to help me and wasn't excited for me. I felt sad but I drove it home and got through it. I have been learning how to drive manual from TH-cam videos and one driving lesson I took before purchasing the car.
Thank you so much 🙏your videos are extremely helpful. I had anxiety over how much money I was spending, till I released I have to just let go and enjoy more my lessons🙏
Other Experienced Drivers on the road really don't help Learner Drivers. I've gotten my license a few months ago and have had many bad experiences with other "Experienced" Drivers. They start tailgating or even beeping at me although I'm already slightly over the speed limit. This has made me not really wanting to drive these past months, but as time passes I care less about those people. Just the other day I had a guy illegally overtaking me and I beeped at him (something I wouldn't do a few months ago). As for the patient/helpful and caring people, I thank them for making it more comfortable for Learner Drivers. The last thing a Learner Driver needs is fear of driving.
Most people are patient, try not to let the minority spoil it. Try to make yourself like a duck and treat the abuse like water. Then water off a ducks back. 🦆 💦
Literally have my test in a few hours have been learning on and off for years, no help due to the pandemic. Struggled to sleep last night cos of the nerves but this video has helped hopefully I pass
My cousin (18) started her lessons late and at 12 hours (a must to complete 15 hours unless given permission by the instructor) she took her driving test and passed. I'm at 13 and I'm still scared of turning into junctions and couldn't gauge how much I should press the car pedals. I get comments from almost everyone as to why I can't drive yet and keeps on comparing me to themselves or someone younger (I'm 23). Makes me feel more anxious than I know I should. So I'm taking it slow even if I need to pay extra. Better safe than sorry! and your videos help me out a lot! I watch them every time I'm about to go to lessons so thank you~
Thank you so much for your great videos! I passed my driving test today and it is impart due to your input!!! Great work!!! Best videos!! Highly recommended!! Thanks again 👍
I m here to share my driving anxiety I have taken 17 lessons so far ....my anxiety is killing me sometimes I compete with it and have a good day with my driving even get a compliment from my instructor about yesss going to book your test soon or why u don't drive like tht all the time or u drove like an experienced driver today and very next week I ll be back to basic I ll b like donno know how clutch works do emergency brakes and do everything so badly 😢 🙃
My father is driving for almost 40 years and he expects me to drive as good as him. And if i fail to do that (which i do quite often) he gets very angry and calls me stupid. But i dont think driving has much to do with intelligence. Cause i feel like im relatively a smart person but i didnt even have 30 hours of driving experience in my life so it makes me a bad driver somehow. Anyway when i compare you to him then i know he isnt a good teacher(no surprise cause he is just a experienced driver) and i have to accept that and just ignore what he says because someday im gonna be an average driver or even better. You are a big help for protecting my confidence and have realistic expectations from myself. Thank you.
When you are a driving instructor you soon remember that driving is something that needs to be learnt and takes time. It's less about patience and more about understanding that a skill needs time to be developed.
Richards face "what if someone toots their horn" 😄 if my taunting thoughts had a face they look exactly like that lol. I got tooted at twice tonight on my lesson. Is what it is, just going to keep pushing forward and remember I can only improve from where I'm at now.
I’ve just brought my first car, I’m learning to drive and I’m struggling so much to drive my own car. I started crying and it’s really lowered my confidence and increased my anxiety. I struggle on lessons anyway and I’ve got my test coming uo
The pressure of the test sounds like it may be preventing you from learning. To learn a skill you have to do things at your own pace, the pressure from deadline may be the problem. If you don't feel ready it may be worth moving your test back and giving yourself some time to learn. You may find you enjoy driving that way.
I do have issues with the first one, but it’s mostly about judging safe distances between cars. With speed, I’ve found so long as I’m at least AT the limit, they can cry about it in their BMWs.
Thankyou I really needed to hear your advise after today's lesson my instructor isn't very supportive at the moment I've been watching your videos against his advise to help me as I only drive in my instructors car which I will now have a 10 day gap in between lessons as he has cancelled a day next week knowing my test is now only 23 days away 🤦♀️ thankyou for everything I will still watch your clips and fingers crossed on the day it will pay off I will let you know either way 👍
I'm currently learning, but I can only make use of those car share car rentals. Often times the same car is not available so I have been learning in different sizes and brands. Sometimes diesel sometimes petrol. This has given my confidence a knock for sure, because it kept feeling like I just couldn't grasp it. But like you said, I was more worried about doing it perfectly than just learning. I need videos like these to help my confidence.
@@shayandewan4337 Hi I live in Switzerland not the UK, we have a service here called mobility where you can get a learner's subscription. All the best of luck
when your driving instructor gives you a good time for a lesson on a wednesday at 2:30pm and then decides he has to change it to a friday (when im working) at 7am.....thats just my luck
I finally got over getting anxiety from cars behind me and judging me, now I think ‘ ahhh f**k em’. I’m still bothered in how long it has taken me to even pull the trigger on booking in my first driving test, all the time I have lost in becoming a functioning adult. I’m 33 and finally doing the test In a few days. I have spent a lot of money on lessons, it has to count for something, I have done so much work physically and mentally, I deserve to pass.
It is for many. Part of becoming a safe and competent driver is to learn to ignore pressure to the point where it is water off a ducks back. Most people feel the pressure, but you have to be your own boss and do things in your own time.
I’m still way too terrified of driving I am scared to be in a crash I’ve had SOO many scary and bad driving experiences from tires blowing out on a freeway cus road debris etc accidentally hitting someone’s already really busted beater car cus I panicked and just let go of everything so I’m terrified lmaoo but I really wanna drive so this is a motivation
I passed 2-3 years just insured now got lot of anxiety driving forgot everything I learnt i know the basics keep forgetting to look at mirrors when stopping or turning and stalling
Btw the tip about caffine is way too true i just realised that when i didn't have my tea or coffee before a lesson i had better control over my emotions especially during the pregnancy. I have decaf now and thats helped me to have better sleep and better emotional understanding during the lessons. Also doing therapy lol.
I'm definitely scared of failure! I passed 2 years ago but only just recently got a car. I have had a few refresher lessons but suddenly being exclusively in control is freaking me out a bit! I tried to drive up a really steep hill and could not do it at all. Just kept stalling and rolling. (My friend had to swap with me to get us up the hill) Now I'm really scared to even attempt a slope! Most routes to my house involve traffic lights on slopes- I can't avoid it forever, but I'm just way too scared at the moment!
You know even though I passed back in late 2015, I still have a little anxiety before getting in the car. I haven't driven on the motorway yet for fear of crashing, not finding room to move on there, taking the wrong turn etc.
Taking the wrong turn is normal, we all do it. I did it two weeks ago on the way to Donington Park. You can have confidence that when you merge into the motorway other drivers don't want a collision also, make sure you are up to speed with the flowing traffic and finding a gap should be easy. Anxiety is a difficult thing to deal with, probably the most difficult aspect of driving for some people. The key is to understand what you're anxious about, challenge it and come to terms with it. It's mostly acceptance of the dangers associated with driving, we all understand the dangers, the confident drivers accept them and understand they are very minor if you try to drive sensibly.
I exchanged my license and so never got an instructor and had been driving automatic for a year and asked my dad to teach me and he just put me on a wet road night time heavy traffic and lots of intersections that are hard to get in and out off and expected me to do fine, at the time I had probably stepped in a manual car once and could barely find the bite point of the clutch, stalled a couple of times and berated me and told me no one taught him how to drive (I find that hard to believe) a manual car is a pretty complex machine I doubt someone could figure it out entirely on their own without damaging the car, it's quite frustrating to want to learn to drive manual and have a parent with 0 patience that doesn't want to explain anything to you
You can't control your feelings but you can control your thoughts. Have the mindset that you will be slow, get it wrong and get in the way. If you go in expecting and accepting this you may feel better.
I get worried that I’m going to mess up while learning, but in a way that damages the car or or someone else’s. I really want to learn to drive but every time I try getting behind the wheel, my mind is thinking about everything at the same time. “What could go wrong? Did I do the right step? What even are the steps?” It stresses me out :(
The key is to try and accept you'll get things wrong as you learn and try to enjoy the learning process. I think many people try to skip learning and go straight to driving... That's a lot of pressure.
I wish I could drive our own car outside of lessons but sadly I can't as my partner only passed his test this year and needs to of held a full license for 3 or more years for him to be in the car with me if I drive.

I just passed my driving exam and your videos are absolute gold, it helped me so much. (Even tho I'm not from UK, it still helped!) They are just the best!!! Thank you so much for your input and hard work on them! ❤️
Congratulations on passing!
If i pass the test, he will be the prime reason. Thank you teacher 😁
I cannot thank you enough Richard. Your videos have helped me tremendously in understanding the driving techniques and gaining confidence. I passed my test last week. Thank you so much!
That's fantastic news! Congratulations on passing!
love this! this is what I need as a beginner. more power to this guy! will have this on repeat to get me on the proper mindset.
Having my test in a week or so, just the video i needed.
Good luck next week!
Good luck!
Good luck! You can do it!
I can't find any dates on DVSA website to book a driving test 😭
I can't thank you enough for taking the time to make these outstanding videos! I'm a 19 year old man who just got a learners permit about a month ago and we can't come close to being able to afford driving lessons, so videos are about all I have to go by and your videos are by far my favorite. Words can't express how much your advice is helping me to become a better driver and get over my fear of driving. I have learned so much from you and I continue to learn every time I drive or watch your videos. Keep up the great work, I will watch your videos as long as you keep making them!
I'm so happy to hear that, thank you.
I'm just so slow 😔
Edit:
Passed first time early September and had to drive all the way to Exeter and get used to their roads 😳 but I really appreciate these videos, I still watch them now as I get used to the hills!!!
the dad part hit hard 😂😂 he had 6 hrs and first time pass. i’m 37+ hrs in and just failed my test
You are a good egg, @ConquerDriving! Just the video I needed with my test in a couple of weeks. Thank you!
Haha, thank you. Good luck with your test!
That's 100% true! The day I drive with confidence, my instructor says I did very well. On the other hand, the day I make 1 mistake and loose my confidence, I keep on making silly mistakes.
Sameee
Thank you so much for this series. I’m not a new driver by any means, i actually used to be praised as a fantastic driver. However, I learned in an automatic (im American lol) and recently purchased a manual. It’s embarrassing but it’s been helpful working and acknowledging my anxiety (especially since I’m a car enthusiast!)
Thanks again!
Surprisingly enough, after passing the anxiety was completely exchanged with confidence. I don't feel like I'm proving anything anymore to pass - I'm driving now.
I'm pleased to hear that, a big part of the anxiety sometimes can be fear of failing.
On a scale of 1-10 how much switching to auto helped you? Im thinking to do the same
@@xtremegamer3621 It's the best thing ive decided to do so 10/10. as it just means you jst have to focus on the road and what people are doing rather than having to worry about changing gears when slowing etc. I have processing issues due to having dyslexia and dyspraxia and so only having one thing to think about is ideal as it keeps my head clear of any stress. the only stressful thing is the idiots who have a full license on the roads around you haha
if your in doubt, take up someone who offers a special offer on say 4 hours worth of lessons as once you have had those it will definitely give you an idea if auto is the best thing to do for you.
@@JMorris1 very encouraging, thanks man, keep it up!!
Thank you so much. You have really helped me to overcome fear of driving being a new driver. I love your honesty
How was it???
I hope it went well!
@@히히레몬머리 i passed with 3 minors thank you!
@@ConquerDriving thank you alot bro, you helped alot and it went great, i passed with 3 minors
Test in 10 days... failed the last test because of anxiety and nerves 😑 have been watching your videos and they are helping a lot xx
Good luck!
Love your videos Richard, although I live in Ireland the rules of the road are basically identical and I've found your videos a massive help. Thank you 👍
Thank you so much dear for this video. You touched the right chords. I need this right now. New driver here and still full of anxieties. 😅
Im a learner and watching him from Australia....I'll appear in my PDA soon
Your videos are really helpful and they are just for free
Thanks
I'm very happy to hear I've helped. Make sure you're your own boss when driving. Do things at your own pace.
Passed 1st time today thanks to your videos at the Warwick test centre! Was even watching your videos waiting for the examiner, thanks sooo much :)
Congratulations on passing 😊
@@ConquerDriving Thanks :) So glad as the next tests are now November :/
I have my test soon and I’m also learning in my own car, so this video is really helpful.
Good luck!
@@hollychandler355 Thank you 😁
I wish you the best of luck for your test!
@@ConquerDriving Thank you so much😁
Great, well-though-through advice.
Xxx
I'm in the US learning to drive as an adult and I love and appreciate your videos good sir. Wish I could have you as an instructor
Just passed my test today with 2 minors. Thank you so much for the helpful advice!
Congratulations on passing!
Got my Learner's license a week ago and will be starting my driver's license lessons soon. These videos are so helpful.
Congratulations on passing!
Been watching your videos since last year and what I can say its truly helpful for aspiring and struggling new drivers, Really your content is one of a kind as you understand the worries and anxiety students are going through . This video i played many times before I took my TP test just today . As a foreigner who took a chance to get this lifetime skill here in Singapore, your virtual support through your videos is really one of the best.!!Guess what , I just pass first time , never been happier and many many thanks to you ❤❤❤
That's really great to hear! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Try to stay positive. Give yourself time to learn, you likely won't get it straight away but have patience with yourself and keep practising.
Thank you for making this video. The day I got a manual car my father never wanted to help me and wasn't excited for me. I felt sad but I drove it home and got through it. I have been learning how to drive manual from TH-cam videos and one driving lesson I took before purchasing the car.
You're very welcome, I love driving manuals, with practise they can be a real joy.
Thank you for taking your time doing these videos. You sure are helping people!!!
Just passed today, thanks so much for all your helpful tips Richard 👍🏻
Congratulations 😊
Thank you so much for this this was my problem setting high expectations for myself and my instructor having high expectations of me caused anxiety
Thank you so much 🙏your videos are extremely helpful. I had anxiety over how much money I was spending, till I released I have to just let go and enjoy more my lessons🙏
This video is re!lly meaningful and makes me fight off my anxiety in driving thank you sir for sharing this.
This video is totally relatable. Thanks very much!
Literally have my test in a few hours have been learning on and off for years, no help due to the pandemic. Struggled to sleep last night cos of the nerves but this video has helped hopefully I pass
Such a good depiction of anxiety
Another great video and again very helpful for an already anxious person! Thumbs up from me!! 👍👍
This channel is like a drug... Not even anxious but clicked anyway👆. Thanks Richard!
Really appreciate these videos. I also find meditation helps tremendously, not only for driving anxiety but life in general!
I watch them every time I'm about to go to lessons so thank you~
That's normal. The normal range in the UK is 20-100 hours. Don't worry about it, avoid the topic if I was you as their comments won't help you.
Thank you so much for your great videos! I passed my driving test today and it is impart due to your input!!! Great work!!! Best videos!! Highly recommended!! Thanks again 👍
That's great news! Congratulations and thanks for watching 😊
Man I wish I knew of your channel months ago! Thanks man!
Hello mate. Yesterday I passed my practical test in first go. your video helped me a lot. Thank you 🙏🏻
Congratulations on passing!
That video is too accurate!!!! Thank you sooo much I am a learner and I got that
Richards face "what if someone toots their horn" 😄 if my taunting thoughts had a face they look exactly like that lol. I got tooted at twice tonight on my lesson. Is what it is, just going to keep pushing forward and remember I can only improve from where I'm at now.
Another great video!! Monday night is Conquer Driving night for sure!
Thanks James.
Thanks for all the time and effort you put into making the video's i have my second attempt at getting my drivers license.
Good luck with your test 🤞
@@ConquerDriving thanks i will get it.
I do have issues with the first one, but it’s mostly about judging safe distances between cars.
With speed, I’ve found so long as I’m at least AT the limit, they can cry about it in their BMWs.
Thankyou I really needed to hear your advise after today's lesson my instructor isn't very supportive at the moment I've been watching your videos against his advise to help me as I only drive in my instructors car which I will now have a 10 day gap in between lessons as he has cancelled a day next week knowing my test is now only 23 days away 🤦♀️ thankyou for everything I will still watch your clips and fingers crossed on the day it will pay off I will let you know either way 👍
Good luck!
@NameLess where did you rent a car from? I was thinking about that 🤔 I don't have any family car
@@shayandewan4337 Hi I live in Switzerland not the UK, we have a service here called mobility where you can get a learner's subscription. All the best of luck
Excellent video, really helpful, thank you!
when your driving instructor gives you a good time for a lesson on a wednesday at 2:30pm and then decides he has to change it to a friday (when im working) at 7am.....thats just my luck
Thank you for uploading these videos, I will try to use your advice and hopefully it helps me 😊
Oh my ,number 1 is my main anxiety after I passed, specially on roundabouts.
It is for many. Part of becoming a safe and competent driver is to learn to ignore pressure to the point where it is water off a ducks back. Most people feel the pressure, but you have to be your own boss and do things in your own time.
As always very helpful! thank you so much for doing these videos
Thanks so much! USEFUL INFORMATION 😊
Thank you for this video! It’s very helpful! 🚙💨
These skits have me dead everytime 😂😂
You inspire me richard.
Thanks conquer driving very helpful tutorial 🙂
Thank you so much for this 🙏🏼
been waiting for this one
I passed 2-3 years just insured now got lot of anxiety driving forgot everything I learnt i know the basics keep forgetting to look at mirrors when stopping or turning and stalling
Make sure you start somewhere quiet. Better to get back into it when the roads are empty or seeks seek some professional refresher lessons.
Btw the tip about caffine is way too true i just realised that when i didn't have my tea or coffee before a lesson i had better control over my emotions especially during the pregnancy. I have decaf now and thats helped me to have better sleep and better emotional understanding during the lessons. Also doing therapy lol.
Thank you, thank you, thank you
Thank you for the sharing Sir
I'm definitely scared of failure! I passed 2 years ago but only just recently got a car. I have had a few refresher lessons but suddenly being exclusively in control is freaking me out a bit! I tried to drive up a really steep hill and could not do it at all. Just kept stalling and rolling. (My friend had to swap with me to get us up the hill) Now I'm really scared to even attempt a slope! Most routes to my house involve traffic lights on slopes- I can't avoid it forever, but I'm just way too scared at the moment!
Thanks for this Video.
Greetings from Austria
I exchanged my license and so never got an instructor and had been driving automatic for a year and asked my dad to teach me and he just put me on a wet road night time heavy traffic and lots of intersections that are hard to get in and out off and expected me to do fine, at the time I had probably stepped in a manual car once and could barely find the bite point of the clutch, stalled a couple of times and berated me and told me no one taught him how to drive (I find that hard to believe) a manual car is a pretty complex machine I doubt someone could figure it out entirely on their own without damaging the car, it's quite frustrating to want to learn to drive manual and have a parent with 0 patience that doesn't want to explain anything to you
As always I want to be anxious free but in sudden I feel it while practicing 😔
You can't control your feelings but you can control your thoughts. Have the mindset that you will be slow, get it wrong and get in the way. If you go in expecting and accepting this you may feel better.
I get worried that I’m going to mess up while learning, but in a way that damages the car or or someone else’s. I really want to learn to drive but every time I try getting behind the wheel, my mind is thinking about everything at the same time. “What could go wrong? Did I do the right step? What even are the steps?”
It stresses me out :(
The key is to try and accept you'll get things wrong as you learn and try to enjoy the learning process. I think many people try to skip learning and go straight to driving... That's a lot of pressure.
I wish I could drive our own car outside of lessons but sadly I can't as my partner only passed his test this year and needs to of held a full license for 3 or more years for him to be in the car with me if I drive.
