- It’s that time of year for a hockey goalie training off-season workout that you can do 2-3 times per week. I purposely made it so you don’t need a lot of specialized equipment to do this goalie specific workout.
A) Lunge Lateral + Pause
2-3 sets of 6ea (3311)
A1) Bilateral DB Row
2-3 sets of 8-12 (2013)
A2) Push Up + Lift Off (around the world)
2-3 sets of 1 each/each way (2012)
B) ½ Groin Crease Push
2 sets of 8-12 (2121)
B1) ½ Groin Reverse Crease Push
-2 sets of 8-12 (2121)
B2) Side Plank From Knee + Abduction
2 sets of 8-12 (2012)
B3) Single Hand Puck Handling
2 sets of 60s each - wear glove
Any questions about superset or tempos so far? Just drop them in the comments below

Excellent video! I love how simple these exercises and movements are (although I know they'll be challenging). I look forward to implementing these into my routine.
Always a good idea to keep it simple - then build from there to the more specific stuff.
Hi Maria, any suggestions for pelvic floor muscle? i get dull pain around my pubic arch and left side of bootyhole (pardon my french). got it when butterflying too enthusiastically
I think that is a very good description. Great question too and other than - "hold your pee" I don't have a lot of pelvic floor drills, but here is a progression I use for TVA + Inner Unit activation -

Not sure how old you are, but younger goalies (probably some older goalies too) can get an irritation of the pubic symphysis, so it might be worth getting the physio to have a look.
@@goalietraining thanks! im a 30 year old goalie who grew up playing soccer and had few issues with Pubis growing up, in fact i cracked it at one point when someone landed on top of me. havent had any issues with it with hockey but last game it happened and im too paranoid about it. if it doesnt go away ill go see a doctor.
@@ak_7442 yeah go see a sport med doc or a good sport Physiotherapist (that would be my first choice if I were you)
Hey! Would you recommend this workout for a 12yo goaltender or would modifications need to be made?
No - this program isn't for a 12 year old - - if you search here on my channel, I have posted some routines for young goalies - - just search "young goalie" or "youth goalie" on my channel.
Hello, me again, so I had hockey practice today and I let in a few bad goals because I couldn't kick my leg out. Do you have any videos on how goalies make standard kick saves? Or any advice? Thank you very much.
Why couldn't you kick your leg out? Mobility? If so, I have loads of videos on mobility - have you don't the splits challenge yet? The link is in the description for this video.
@@goalietraining I don't know why i couldn't kick my leg out.. maybe I just froze or maybe I just didn't know how..? I'll keep practicing and watching your youtube videos and hopefully during my next hockey session i'll be able to figure out the problem or better yet get my leg out properly
EXCELLNT
Excellent*
Whoa whoa whoa, no Jason Vorhees mask during the workout!!?? I few " Hextall" type chops with that mask on at the end would be hilarious.
That would have been hilarious!! That is actually the type of mask I wore back in the day for road hockey - - and all it did was basically slap your entire face when the puck or ball would hit it - ha ha!
It’s … A1, A2,A3… little details.
ha ha... for my little details it is A, A1, A2 😂
My dumb ass thought the second exercise was invented in 2013
ha ha - - that one has probably been around since forever.... a pretty basic pattern there.
