  • Hey Ya'll!!
    I pray that every mom or expecting mom that can benefit from this review, will see it. It is so challenging finding your footing into motherhood. You are not alone, mama.
    Here is a review of every breast pump that I have tried. I hope this helps when choosing the right pump for you.

    28 weeks with my first. Found out today that my maternity pay is going to be so much less than we hoped and felt my spirits be crushed. I’d been looking through Aeroflow and trying to find the best pump possible because that’s the only way we will be able to get one. I’ve watched tons of videos today and “accidentally” clicked on your video. When I read the caption to this video and listened to how you talk about it all it really encouraged me after this rough day. I think God let me click on this video to cheer me up. Thank you!

      This makes me so happy! I hate, and very much know what it's like, to get a curve ball like that, right before and/or after giving birth. I was so sad when I realized I spent my insurance stipend on a pump that was not serving me well. And I was in no position to pay out of pocket for another one, with my fingers crossed. That was the main impetus for me making this video. I'm so glad it found it's way to you. Good luck with everything. ❤

    Omggg !! THIS is the video I was looking for!!. All the information I needed without feeling like an influencer was influencing me to buy a pump 😵‍💫. I’ve been so stressed on this and car seats. I’m 2 days shy of 36 weeks and I have yet to make a decision on which pump to get. After this.. I’m getting the spectra 2 and the last one you mentioned. … thank you!!

      I am so glad this could help. Yes, I was in the same head space when researching pump reviews. I kept finding content sponsored by luxury pump companies. It was so frustrating. All of that motivated me to film this video. Congratulations on your little one. I hope you both have a beautiful bonding experience. 💐💕

    Im 22 weeks and I decided on the Medela since I know I'll need to be able to pump at work once I return! The other pumps my insurance approved were plug in. I also feel so lucky and blessed that my insurance approved me for not only the pump but a bunch of accessories/tote bag. Thank you for such a detailed and honest review- its been commented but its so refreshing to not be advertised too when getting information.

    The Mya did not work for me but I love the S1. It just shows how our bodies are all different and perfect too. My advice to anyone out there shopping for a pump, buy the right pump. Don’t get something because it comes with a bag or bottles. You can put your pump in any bag. You can use a different cooler. But the pump itself, that’s the expensive part. No one knows what works for them until they actually try something. Good luck. It’s hard but worth it.

    It's been 2 years since I had my youngest of 3. I bought the motif Luna and ameda mya outta pocket with Medela part adaptors (I used the symphony with baby #2 thanks to WIC as nc pregnancy Medicaid didn't cover pumps till very recently). The mya was pretty good for when I needed to move around with a pumping bra. I was an exclusive pumper with all 3 babies. If you can, get a hold of a Medela symphony, but it's not necessary to having a good supply or experience, bc it feels a lot gentler but seems better at stimulating and extracting. You'll still have to manually express to get it all out, particularly the fat at the end. But yeah, I also liked the Luna as my primary but I had the wired one, not wireless (absolutely essential if you have small children to care for, you'll be constantly disconnecting, and who wants to drop everything to pump for 15 minutes minimum? Luna and Mya are similar to Spectra's feel, I wouldn't be surprised if they're practically the same. I just wish the simulation mode could be a lot stronger. I spent most of my time in simulation mode cranked up with the symphony.
    I had the Evenflo advanced double with my first in 2016. PLEASE DON'T. maybe my parts didn't fit well, I was a 19-21mm flange when I was regulated with my third. I was incredibly frustrated that I stocked up on 21mm flanges only to realize I needed a size down.
    The OG Medela PISA, can't go wrong with that other than it can get gross. I lusted for freestyle flex like no one's business when I was pregnant in 2020. I heard it wasn't a good primary pump for EP'ers and I'm not spending over $300 on a pump that can't pull her weight.
    It's really hard to pick a pump, I wish you could go try them out in store with your own parts... However even the best institutional grade pumps won't completely empty you, make sure to hand express till you're on E Again.

Now that I think about it, that actually translated right into parenting my toddlers. 😄 But I'm glad you have 2 amazing pumps, that will give you a smooth breastfeeding journey, this go round. Try checking Amazon for pump parts. Also, if you got your pump through aeroflow, they will contact you every 3 months to send you replacement parts for free. I used to interchange which pump I would order parts for. They don't keep track or care. There is a place for you to enter pump info. each time. 😉

    Hey, great video. Did you feel that the Ameda had as good of suction as the spectra? Used the spectra with my first but want something a little more portable but had great milk supply with spectra so scared to rock the boat.

    • @Lauren_Whitney
      @Lauren_Whitney  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, Ameda's suction was just as good as spectra, in my opinion. Spectra does have more of a Lux feel, if that makes sense. Ameda isn't as quiet and the pull isn't a gentle pulsation, like spectra, but definitely just as effective. My Ameda was my most used pump.

    28 weeks & so excited for this journey. 💞 Thanks for your thorough input! I have been gifted two pre-loved pumps, the spectra s2 & ameda mya joy. So grateful to hear they were your favorites!
    On another note, I am already producing colostrum & was thinking about collecting once I’m further along & it’s safe to do so. Do you have any thoughts or tips on that process? 🥛

    • @Lauren_Whitney
      @Lauren_Whitney  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wow!! You are already off to an amazing start with the perfect pump set up. I would ask my OB about the colostrum collection. I didn't produce that early, so I don't know how to handle it. BUT I have heard of ppl collecting and creating a stash. You just want to make sure pumping won't cause premature contractions or be harmful to baby.
      Congratulations!! I'm so glad this was helpful. ✨️

    Hello, this video was so helpful! On the Mya you mention that it uses the same pump parts as the spectra. Are the parts from the spectra compatible to use with the Mya?

    My insurance covers the spectra s2 but not the s1 & im so upset😭 I love how the s1 is portable. I already have the Momcozy but I want a primary pump that’s still powerful, should I still go for the s2?

    • @Lauren_Whitney
      @Lauren_Whitney  ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually recommend getting the s2 as your primary and then spending out of pocket for a portable that's smaller. Even though the s1 is portable, that's a huge pump to carry around, so not a total loss to get the stationary version.

    Between the ameda and the spectra s1 which would you say offered better accessibility to parts and bottles etc

    • @Lauren_Whitney
      @Lauren_Whitney  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, they both use the same parts. If you order through insurance you will get free parts shipped to you every couple of months (an alert is sent to your email). If you are paying out if pocket both pumps have universal parts that can be purchased on Amazon. They have several vendors that make compatible parts. I personally used maymom, when paying out if pocket. You can get flanges, duckbills, tubing the whole set up for roughly $30. OR if you don't need everything you can scale your order back to your specific needs for even less. ❣️

      Mine just says Ameda Mya. It doesn't have pro or joy on it. But I also got mine back in 2019. Maybe the other variations came out after mine. It doesn't seem like you can go wrong with the , pro, though. Hope this helps.

    question, my insurance charge $80 for spectra sp1 and free for Ameda Joy Plus. I have a friend who is giving me her sp1 but I am debating on which of these 2 I get, do you have any suggestion?

    • @Lauren_Whitney
      @Lauren_Whitney  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have the option to get both (sp1 through your friend and Ameda Joy with insurance), I would do that. If you're choosing between 1 or the other, I would definitely go with the portable option. (Ameda). I haven't used the Joy, but Ameda is a great pump brand. I wouldn't pay out of pocket for spectra 1, simply because it's stationary. The convenience of portability is more important to me. And Ameda still packs the power. I got long winded. Hope this helps. ❤️

    8 weeks with my first tomorrow she will be 2 months i am breastfeeding but got a free pump thru insurance and ine wasa gift. Ive tried it pumping was not going as well as breastfeeding. My baby is cluster feeding and my mom was supplementing because she thought she wasnt getting enough
