Ahhh thank you. It seriously is the most overlooked under stocked area of a long pantry. And it’s honestly make or break on moral when you have to eat beans and rice.
Love how you teach us all your skills and knowledge. And I loooove your kitchen. You have motivated me to store my spices in a similar way. We had a water damage some weeks ago in our basement and since then, my spice order is waiting to get vakumized and stored. Some spices we even store in the freezer.
This is interesting... because when I started building my pantry 2 months ago... I also started with buying spices in bulk... of course, not anywhere near your quantities and I know I'm set for the year. I started this journey as a 'lone ranger' not knowing anyone around me doing this... and now after seeing this... I'm finding kindred spirit and I'm so happy.
I’m beyond happy to hear this. Spices are my biggest way to start. And just think if we had to eat just our stocks or rice and beans ours will have flavor! I think spices are The unsung hero’s of prepping.
Although I have been ordering from Azure for just a few months now, I love these types of videos because I see so many items that I did not know Azure carries. Their site is easy to use, but there are many things listed and I have not gone through everything. This month I added honey to my list because I now know that they carry it.

That is actually a very good point. We were just trying to figure that out last night. My pantry I built earthquake bars in it on every shelf. But I need to figure out something even thought that sticky mat you use in an RV. Nothing would stop a 6 or bigger from taking down the whole house. But yeah we need something to stop them from falling with the smaller ones.
We live an rv. Space is very limited…also weight. Can you suggest, off the top of your head, how to choose the very basic must-haves. It’s just me and my husband. We do have an AeroGarden and are starting seeds for transplanting into a GreenScape vertical garden. I also have ordered the Presto digital canner. Can’t wait to get started, just need to prioritize . Thank you, I learned so much from this video. Next week I pick up my first Azure order!
Great question. If I were you…… I would make a list 7-10 something most frequent meals you make. And would write out ever ingredient in those meals. Like say you make spaghetti, list everything you need seasons, then say tacos, and list all those out. The most basic in this horse however is not what we grew up eating. But it’s garlic, cumin, chili powder, red pepper flakes, cinnamon, ginger, mustard, so on. And a few mixes like garlic salt and ranchers steak rub.

May I mention spices don't need to be but into a large stockpot by the 1/4 cup, a teaspoon to taste, or 1/2, or a 1/4, near the end of cooking taste what you are cooking. and adjust the seasonings.
Umm I tried. But they are all mason brand. I’m not sure if you have Walmart or Amazon. Like I buy from a local Alaska store. But the ones I moved from Arizona came from Walmart for the most part.

😊thank you for sharing. I went through a phase in life where I was buying tons of spices that I wasn’t even using. Mainly remade mixes with fun names😜 I would se hem once and then they would sit. I love getting the large quantities of single spices from Azure. It really doesn’t lock you in just like that pancake mix.
