    Damn, so many Nicka supporters here, no one talks about Ami. I think people enjoy power moves more, but watching Ami here is like watching water flowing; her moves are just soooo smooth. She didn't do many power moves so it doesn't look as impressive, but in round 1 and 3, there are points where she was completely with the music. It just shows that she's not just doing her set. It was a close match 🎉🎉🎉

      Exactly what I was thinking too. Nicka is obviously super talented and impressive to watch but even I, who doesn't know much about breaking managed to spot one mistake from her in the first round. Ami was really mesmerizing to watch, I cannot imagine how much work you have to put into for dancing so precise while also going with the flow of the songs.

      Final freeze pose. This is important in breakdance. To end dance, she should stop a while in the uncomfortable pose for few seconds. She did not have control on it. I amaze that she went to final as she lacked this factor. She even recognized it.

    • @Grebeny
      @Grebeny หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is something that happens on competitions out of the olympics too, very often the more technicle breakdancer loses because of the other factors. First of all, it is breakdancing and by dancing it means you need to follow the rythm. Nicka didn't managed to do that good freezes and she was missing the rythm a lot compared to Ami.
      However, she is only 17 and I can't wait to see the next world championship, because the b-girls started to rock really hard core in the last 10 years.

      Breaking is usually decided on orginality, musicality, control, power, stamina and technique. Nicka had alot of good moves but she didn't control it perfectly and even crashed a few times while being clearly gassed out at the end. Ami on the other hand pretty much did everything perfectly all the way through.
      I personally like Ami's get-downs way more as well while also thinking that she uses the space in her top-rock better as well. She was just cleaner and stronger

      Lithuanian girl had really slow first 2 outs. She didn't have as good flow as Japanese girl had. You cannot have bad flow, 0 explosivnes and expect that 1 powermove will win you battle. This was clear win for japan. You will see man's battles where everyone is explosive, have sick flow and does cool powermoves. Then there is problem who is really better.

    • @gab_gallard
      @gab_gallard หลายเดือนก่อน +39

      I'm not a b-boy, but I am an enthusiast with experience in other dance styles. So, this is just my humble take:
      Bigger moves are not necessarily harder. They might look impressive from the outside, but they aren't always the most technical. I think the Japanese competitor was more technical and precise. This is especially evident in how she transitions from move to move. Those transitions are incredibly complex to pull off while keeping them in time, and she executed them perfectly. On top of that, she had all the best finishing poses, which is a very important element of breakdancing. The Lithuanian competitor didn't seem to pay as much attention to her finishers, and that definitely hurt her final score.
      All things considered, I think they are both amazing, and I wouldn't have been upset if the Lithuanian had won. I think it was close, but I understand why the Japanese competitor scored higher. The thing with events like this is that taste matters. It's not cut and dry like a 100m race, where whoever gets to the finish line first wins. Breakdancing is more of an art form than a sport, and you can't really quantify aesthetics with a point system. Subjectivity matters.

    Was skeptical at first. But I'm now persuaded. This was pretty damn entertaining. We accept artistic gymnastics and underwater dancing. So why not this ?

      This is exactly what I thought. Begun very skeptical but as you say, this is another way of gymnastics.

    Nicka was better. In addition Japanese girl failed twice. It's not fair

    They're both great but I loved Ami dance moves much more, she made me naturally have a rythmic move to my body, I wanted to dance along with her. She made everything look so smooth and easy... Kudos to her 👏🏻

    As a random bypasser who is clueless about breaking and was curious as I had no idea this was an olympic sport too, I vote for Nika. Greater diversity of moves and overall just liked it more, was engaging to watch 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Being 1e or 2e is so often just a small difference. Both did great and are deserving of an Olympic medal.
    I love that we have a new olympic game where everyone can shine, now waiting for the Olympic Breaking Youth :) Ive seen some pop off!!!

    They could've talked more about what the moves are called and how well they performed them

    Nicka has the right vibe and energy when dancing. I saw many different moves.
    The Japanese girl did dance good, but I saw a lot of pausing as if she was trying not to mess up or fall. I know some of the pausing was part of dance but others looked like she was trying not to mess up.

    I love how all the B-Dancers celebrate each other. I hope they always keep that culture.
