Thank u! Thank u! I was having the same issue with my 2006 Silverado v6 and I kept looking and looking till I found your video Hallelujah someone else had the same issue as I was having! I checked the idle air control valve and YUP that was the problem. It was pretty bad, so I changed it and I she is a whole lot better! Thank u again!
I got a 98 chevy Silverado, and the set up is similar. But I've been having the same issue with my truck, rough idle start. replaced the MAS air flow sensor, and spark plug wires, EGR valve sensor, fuel lines and fuel filter and was thinking it was my fuel pump giving out. But I'll give this a shot if not then I already know more or less what to replace 😅 thanks alot 👌
Also check your fuel pressure mine starting acting up again within a week or so and my fuel pressure was low as well new fuel pump and boom all good now
Think about this. A weak fuel pump, or a semi plugged fuel filter symptoms would be low power under a load. It might idle and rev up no problem, when just sitting there. But under a load, is when issues show up. This is because, when you are driving down the road. You are pulling. Working the engine. The engine will require much more fuel than when standing still.all that extra fuel goes through the filter, and if it’s getting dirty, it will restrict flow. People change out fuel filters all the time for nothing! I have pulled old filters to be replaced, and I will blow through the old ones, and theres no restriction. Waste of time and money. So, it’s simple. If you have plenty of power when under a load, that’s not your problem.
My truck idles fin on a cold start ac off bit as soon as I tur. The ac on it stalls and tries to die or does die...after I let it warm up amd drive around with the ac on its fine bit will do it again after I kill it amd restart 30 minutes later
Went to cold start my 97 k1500 yesterday ‘s and the RPMs shot up super high like somebody was standing on the gas pedal. Do you know what I can do about that or if it’s dangerous for the vehicle?
friend, my truck turns on the second time it is turned on and when I turn it off and you want to turn it on again, it does it again, just as it would have
I’m just now starting to have this with my 97 k1500 it’s driving me nuts I replaced the fuel filter cleaned the air sensors everything so I guess this weekend I’ll have to try this and I’ll let you know how it works
Check your fuel pressure. Mine started doing it again after cleaning this sensor and it turned out my fuel pump was not working right and was only making 15psi with should be 40 to 50 psi
@@davidmiller9056 there’s a fuel pressure gauge . I had to get one of my buddies that owned one come and check it for me but auto parts stores will rent you one
@@stickytarmacs and it’s crazy cause it just started doing this and now when I hit the gas my air conditioner blows low but I let off the gas petal it starts blowing harder
i recently got a 97 silverado with the opposite issue. runs good while cold but once the engine heats up acceleration is rough and the truck stalls while in park from low rpm. i have to give it a little bit of throttle while shifting into drive to get me going. Think that could be the IAC valve? gonna clean it when i can
Should be 55 to 65 psi . Anything lower to then that will cause you to issue. Mine was at 38 psi and was driving rough and stalling when engine got hot
Mine runs and drives good but mine whistles so loud for some reason. I’ve asked people on a Silverado group and they all say it’s the iac valve. I don’t see how that would make it whistle.
@@stickytarmacs it legit sounds like a supercharger, probably because I dont have the resonator box on the intake tube and it's an open filter with a heat shield between it and motor. Never wondered if something was wrong though cause it sounds cool lol
My 96 obs has high idle on start up it’s at like 2k rpm then goes down to 1,500k rpm but that’s still to high could that part being bad make it do that also or would it be something totally different?
"Pretty cold out. Like 55." Lol!!!
Thanks for your helpful video and the laugh. From your neighbor up north.
That's cold here in Texas 😂

Dang man that's nuts

Yeah my 97 just started doing this.I usually let it idle for 10 mins, cause its only -21_ -40° here in lovely Minnesota.
Check your fuel pressure fuel pump could be going out or weak

I’m gunna have to try this in my 97&98s.
Hey guys, it’s a T20 Tworques.
Did you just spray it with carb cleaner or did you also wipe with rag and or bristle brush?

Reving up like that on a cold engine is never good . Check for air leaks (vacuum leaks)

Check your fuel pressure. Does it run better when the engine warms up.

Do you have a cold air intake? I put a CAI on mine and it whistles from the air sucking in the engine now
