  • Watch with child-like wonder and slack jawed amazement as I disassemble and clean a wagner sprayer. Chances are that if you have one of these you have had problems with it at least once. The most common part that needs repair is under the tray filter. You can take it out and clean it to working condition in most cases. Remember to put a few drops of mineral or vegetable oil at that part when you are done cleaning out the paint and ready to put it away. It helps stop any extra paint from seizing the part.
Sorry the video is not much good. I just taped my iPhone to a ball cap.

Stick a 3/8 ratchet extension in the center hole of the plastic extractor and attach a ratchet, it will easily break the brass plug free without messing up the plastic tool.

Thanks for posting. I used this sprayer to paint a barn two years ago. I got it out of the garage today and found that we didn't get it clean enough from just running water through it. Your video will help us get it going again.

Thank you for the instructions, my confidence level is up now. I'm going to go clean the one I got for $60 at a yard sale that only has mild paint build up compared to this one.

Didn't mean to sound short on this comment. Your video helped me know that a part that was stuck was just stuck with paint. My poor old Paint Crew is spraying again! Thanks.

I liked your video, very informative. By the way, on my machine I need to replace the part showed on your video at 8:39 to 8:44 The same one at 8:57 .By any chance, do you know the part number and the name of that part? That is a plastic ( lobe , cam ?) and mine is broken. As this is a old model I don't even know if they still making parts anymore.

You don't need alcohol, latex paint will come off with hot soapy water. There was no need to take the motor apart either. Oh and that inlet valve is mean to have a ratchet used with extension into the white tool to take the plug out... tells you right in the manual.

Good afternoon, my machine stopped taking pressure during a job. Throw the paint but without excessive force. The function "prime" does not do it, and I thought it could be that valve that is dirty with paint, however I do not know how to disassemble the red knob to access the nuts and clean that part, because if I put a wire I notice the presence of paint inside. Any ideas?

Hi. Iv got this exact machine. For some reason mine has no power what so ever. Do you have any ideas why this would be. Iv replaced the fuse but still nothing. Thanks

I’ve got one of these & my hose shakes vigorously after being primed & there’s not much pressure & the motor doesn’t cut out it constantly runs I’ve taken out the inlet & outlet valves cleaned them sparkling any ideas what this could be?
I’m a new build house basher from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 & this machine is ideal for finishing ceilings.
Any help would be greatly appreciate.

there could be a o ring that is cracked inside the inlet where the paint drains down into the hose

I agree with Timpala. It was very upsetting to see you shove a screwdriver into the 3/8th ratchet hole, but I kept watching hoping you had some idea of what you're doing. I think next time you video yourself taking something apart, make sure you've done it before.

Dude use some Mineral Spirits or Paint Thinner - Disk at a angle is called a squash plate - you need a snap ring plier its like $5.99 at ace even less at harbor freight - You don't want to scratch all those surfaces with a screwdriver - Use a Solvent

We call those snap rings, and they make snap ring pliers to install or remove them. Thank you for the video.

Michael Vestergaard Look for isopropyl alcohol. To make things even more confusing we some times call it rubbing alcohol.

Really a dirty machine, you didn't dismantle the spray gun because there is a filter in the handle and if not cleaned or replaced it will not work well. What do you do with the hose if it's also clogged, I don't know of a way to clean it, come back to us with your complete proposals this time.
Thank you nice video if we don't count the times we don't see what you're doing because the shot is out of scope.
