The Easy Peasy Pouch

- I have had quite a few requests for this pouch. Yes, I have already done this type of pouch in a tutorial, but I have now written in a PDF pattern form as well.
You can pick the pattern up for free in my group on Facebook, Patterns by Amy Lynne, / patternsbyamylynne
You will find it in the files or you can do a search for the Easy Peasy Pouch.
If you are not on FB you can pick the pattern up for a dollar on my Etsy shop or my website. Etsy requires all your listings have a cost and a buck is the lowest they will allow. I will update this as soon as my website is live and no longer hosted by Etsy, because it will be free. amylynnedesigns.com/listing/8...
The design I used is from Embroidery Library.
I love, love, love all of their designs. They stitch out terrific the first time and if you'd like you can head over to Facebook and join a group I started 4 years ago called Fans of Embroidery Library. EL is fully aware of the group, but it is a fan group run by 3 EL fans! / fansofembroiderylibrary
The Embroidery Machine I use a Brother Pr1000e. Brother upgraded this machine and they now offer the PR-1050X. But I do know that dealers still carry my machine so your best bet is to call around. It is a terrific machine and I love using it.
I sew on an industrial straight stitch sewing machine, Juki DDL 8700. Check out @Sewinggold if you're interested in making a purchase of an industrial machine. Steve over at Sewing Gold is wonderful and he ships throughout the U.S..
Throughout the video I mention things I use and I do not have affiliate links to any of them, but I'll add where I purchase the things I mention.

thank you so much for your great tutorials 😘
You are so welcome! Thank you for the compliment!
Great video. You explain everything so great. Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much!!
As everyone else has said, great video! I’ve been searching for quite a while now, for a different way to install zips on pouches. THIS seems like exactly what I want. I did t want tabs on both ends (restricts the opening too much), and I didn’t want the “tail” end, and I hate just sewing over the zip. This method is goldilocks just right! Thank you.
I'm glad you like it and thank you!!
OMG I learned so much here. I love the way you just pulled the zipper at 90 degrees rather than try to sew it at the 90 degrees first, which I hate to do. And you’re the first one to explain why not to topstitch the lining, totally makes sense. Thank you so much for this :) oh, and I finally know what those weird scissor things are for lol
I'm so glad you learned a couple new things! You just made my day! Thank you!
Got my wool, got my designs... color me ready for some fun, easy, pouches!
Man I love all your methods!
You’re too sweet!
This is one of the most thorough, informative and easy to follow videos I have watched in a long time. Your instructional pace was spot on. I will be checking out more of your tutorials!

Super super super Gr8 instructions. Love ALL the details!!!!! Thank you!!!!!
You are so welcome!
@@AmyLynneDesigns I’m a newbie to sewing - late bloomer age 53 so the more details , with slow instructions as well as very close video instructions are extremely helpful.
Love your tutorial 🥰
Thank you!!

Thank You !
Great tutorial! Winston shall not be silenced! Lol
Hahahahaha!!! 😂😂
So cute! Interesting zipper technique. Thank-you.
Thank you!! 😊
cool
This is a very cute project. Really enjoy your videos, you are a good teacher. Just curious as to why you make your zipper tabs so tiny?
Just preference. I don’t love them so I don’t make them often. You can make them any size you want! Totally up to you.
It would be very helpful if you showed the pouch at the beginning of your video. I had to go to the end of your video to see what it was you were making. Thank you for your video.
Great idea! Thank you!
Where did you get your little tabs again? This is such a wonderful video, I love your tutorials!!! Thank you Amy !!!!
Glad you like them! I get my tags from two different stores. I like them both. www.etsy.com/shop/AugieStore
www.etsy.com/shop/inkedpapers They both have excellent customer service. Augie Store is in Argentina and InkedPapers is in Wisconsin
Are you still doing videos, you're such a great teacher.
I am and have a couple Im working on right now that should be up on Thursday at the latest!
I have a Juki TL18. Just wondered where you got your presser foot? looked online and most don't say how wide they are. I already have the 1/4" foot, don't want another one!
I get most of my feet from either Wawak.com or from Cutex Sewing Supply. The one I'm using can be found here www.wawak.com/Sewing/Sewing-Machine-Accessories/Feet/split-hinged-sewing-machine-foot-40322shp363/?sku=PRT5002

Amy Lynn, where did the name “butler” method come from? Just curious!
Great question! I did not have a name for it and my friend Barb said “You need to name this method. It’s brilliant and it needs a name. I’m calling it The Butler Method.” And that is pretty much the end of it. She was right. It needed a name and my last name is Butler and The Amy Lynne Designs Method was just to long lol!
What kind of sewing machine are you using? I heard you say talk to Steve at Sewing Gold but never heard the name of the machine other than it was under $1000. Thanks sew much!!!
I use an industrial Juki DDL 8700! Love love love it!
I notice your zipper looks different when I put my zipper pool in the middle is unzipped on one end are you using a specific type of zipper or can I just use a regular one to make this work?
You can use a regular #3 zip that has the stop on the end. You'll just end up cutting off the stop and adding a tab. Or you can leave the stop and make sure the metal stop at the end is 3/4" from the end. Then you end up trimming the zip from the other end. No biggie!
@@AmyLynneDesigns Thanks
What are those little tape measures for on your sewing machine please
I use those as seam allowance guides and pivot guides when I pívot at a corner to sew 1/4”. Check out my other video I have about using the ruler tape!
@@AmyLynneDesigns Thanks, do you have a link
@@AmyLynneDesigns What do we type in to find the video explaining the measuring tape. I'd like to use the measuring tape on my machine as well.
