@@Roz-Ventures It's odd, isn't it? I always used, with my previous caravan, to reverse to my right (which also means slightly uphill) to get into my drive at home, at the end of a trip. I only did it by reversing left if the position of other vehicles made that necessary but that was rarely - and more stressful Since getting my new caravan, with a more powerful motor-mover, I just unhitch and use the remote control handset unit to get up the drive. The looks on some drivers' faces...! This was a GREAT video. One of the best so far. A bit naughty to let us think you'd fallen asleep and missed the ferry, though. I'd been urging you, under my breath, NOT to have a nap before setting off for the ferry...

You would absolutely love the scenery around South Africa... From mountains to deserts to beaches... And even during winter, the temperature seldom goes below 10 degrees Celsius throughout the day majority of the country. Having said that... There are parts of the country that are in n the mountains, spectacular views one side and you turn around and it's up to 3" of snow!!! Thank you for another installment of the adventure fix!! ❤❤❤

5 star reversal that must have been nerve wracking ! The clip at the end with your lights on in the pod showing light around your door frame was not something I expected to see ! I just hope your door wasn’t shut but if not the wind noise would be awful. Loved it as usual , thank you for taking us along 👍
The door might have been on the latch in the clip. But it might not have been 🙈 The door seal isn’t great and it does create a bad draft in windy cold weather. I usually use a towel as a draft excluder. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

Anyone that has tried to go backwards with a blooming caravan on the back will know how awkward it can be. Fabulous bit of reversing there Roz, very impressive.

Great bit of reversing Roz, you put me to shame! 15 years of towing and I still mess up when reversing. I picked up a great tip as well, the elastic around the water inlet lid, so simple but stops that annoying rattling in the wind. Thanks, Can’t wait for the next instalment 👍
I'm good at reversing in a straight line, but I still get a bit messed up around corners (especially to reversing to the left) 🙈 I hate to hear the water lid flap so I always have an elastic on it now 24/7. A hair bobble works great 👍🏼 Thanks for watching.
The scenery looks quite a bit like the East Coast of Greenland and parts of the Canadian Maritimes. I suppose that makes sense. It was all connected millions of years ago.

Hi Roz Great straight line reverse at the ferry terminal, first class. In a previous life I was in the HGV business so it was spot on!. Wonderful video despite your tiredness with 4 nights of little or no sleep. Before I retired , different from the HGV business I did rotating shift work and this involved night shifts sometimes 12 hours in length. Regards Crawford

I was on the minutes for a music practice and said, "Sorry, I was doing a Reginald," and they knew what I meant! Very well done on your brilliant reversing. Howdy 🤠🏴 - I was tempted to try and get across, but the problem is that I would then have to walk back again 😅 - I am a tight-arse when it comes to money 😂😂 (I have spreadsheets and everything 👩🏻💻) I hate losing/wasting money so yeah, you're right, I wouldn't have missed a ferry I'd already paid for 😅😅 - thank you 😇 I still struggle with a reverse to the left though 😅 but I'll get there. This is my third ferry and the trip and they put me at the front on this one, but I've also been put in the middle and at the back. So, I think it just depends on what other traffic is there etc 🤷🏻♀️ Thanks so much for watching 😀🐶

Id suggest you get those soft rubber door seals, for the micro pod door,I think you can get them from asdas poundland etc,..or probably amazon theyre self adhesive and easy to install,it would cut out the draughts(mostly),the escaping light and probably the midges as they firm a seal.👍🏻
Well said Roz, on the liquid meals. People are taken in by all the marketing around them, protein powders for body builders another example. Oh, and energy/electrolyte drinks.

One star & one hanger on , you can choose which you are 😂 . Well done on the reverseing . Little tip , leave the van in gear either 1st or reverse depending which way the road is slopeing , 1st gear if faceing uphill , reverse if faceing downhill . Thankyou for another great video .

Before I retired , different from the HGV business I did rotating shift work and this involved night shifts sometimes 12 hours in length. Regards Crawford

@@Roz-Ventures Have a look at Blue Frog's vid of Reginal Molehusband. Ancient people like me still quote bits from it. I was on the minutes for a music practice and said, "Sorry, I was doing a Reginald," and they knew what I meant! Very well done on your brilliant reversing. I used to drive a school minibus and had training including using the door mirrors. It's been useful ever since. Laura

He is impressed, ( probably cos she's a woman!) and compliments her with ... "Only formidable!" The latter being pronounced as they would say in France! It became a thing we'd say whenever anyone did anything impressive! 😂 I guess you had to be there! 🤣🤣

This is my third ferry and the trip and they put me at the front on this one, but I've also been put in the middle and at the back. So, I think it just depends on what other traffic is there etc 🤷🏻♀️

Id suggest you get those soft rubber door seals, for the micro pod door,I think you can get them from asdas poundland etc,..or probably amazon theyre self adhesive and easy to install,it would cut out the draughts(mostly),the escaping light and probably the midges as they firm a seal.👍🏻
Surprisingly, it already has that stuck around the door, but there's still about a 2 inch gap 🙈😂😂
Well said Roz, on the liquid meals. People are taken in by all the marketing around them, protein powders for body builders another example. Oh, and energy/electrolyte drinks.

One star & one hanger on , you can choose which you are 😂 . Well done on the reverseing . Little tip , leave the van in gear either 1st or reverse depending which way the road is slopeing , 1st gear if faceing uphill , reverse if faceing downhill .
