All Scottish, Welsh and English should give thanks that they all live on such beautiful island (and surrounding islands). Yes it rains there a lot but the island of Great Britain is simply stunning.
That's why the island is so fertile, productive and green! A Spanish engineer coming to England for the first time, to work with a friend of mine at a British firm of engineers, said as she flew into England, that she couldn't believe how green everywhere seemed.

Thanks for the memories. My husband of 55 years passed away last December and this video brings back great memories of a great week my husband and I and our Springer Spaniel had on Harris back in the early 90's. We took the ferry from Uig to Tarbet and stayed in a cottage right by the water's edge just south of Tarbet. Sunshine every day albeit it April. Looking forward to the next video.
'Prefer to skip the Skye montage?' he asks. Am assuming that was a joke and people would have laughed if they hadn't been stunned into speechlessness by the very montage we were being offered to skip. Gorgeous scenery! So was Harris! Cracking wee hotel you're in. I seriously wish I could drive so I could go to places like this. Alas, too old and too anxious to learn now. Will just have to live vicariously through you, Steve x
Thank you for sharing Scotland with us. I've been wearing kilts and playing the bagpipes for 54 years, but I grew up in, and live in, California. Seeing Scotland with my own eyes may never happen, so I really do appreciate the time you take to show us this wonderful land.
I’d love you to read this Steve. I’m Laura McLaughlin Near Belfast. Back in the 1990’s before my lovely late husband took Parkinson’s we went in our lovely XJ 8 Jaguar to Skye & the Hebredise When we arrived in Tarbet the sheep met us in the car park. The roads were winding & in places just the width of the car. We had a pic nic on a beach with sand that could have been put in an egg timer & Pavarotti was singing on the car radio. Pure magic. We also were on Scalpy. We went l Lewis & took the ferry back from Stornaway to Ullapool. Your video brought it all back to me - I’d love to go back - but it would be to sad without Victor - gone now 6 years. He was so lovely. Do all you can NOW Steve. One never knows what’s round the corner. ❤
Wow, what a wonderful trip! Thank you so much for sharing. My condolences on the loss of your late husband; it really seems like you took the time to treasure each other and make beautiful memories together.
Oh Laura, I know how you feel, I lost my darling Libby eighteen months ago after 34 very happy years. We toured Scotland several times from the 2000’s on (the first time in our XJS) and seeing places we visited together like that road up through Skye is always bittersweet. But I have been back to our favourite place of Plockton and whilst tinged with great sadness it reminded me so much of happy memories that I’m glad that I did. Maybe you should too? Very Best Wishes, TonyS
I so agree. My lovely husband, Bill, died 4 years ago and, as a builder, worked in Lewis. He adored the area and always said we'd go there together. We didn't. It was lovely watching your travels out there. Thank you Steve. 🎉
I realized on second watching that "CalMac" is "Caledonian MacBrayne", and it reminded me of something I read in a history of Scotland, that you might appreciate, Steve. Apparently, in the early part of the last century, islanders had a satirical quatrain about the ferry company's monopoly on transportation in the Hebrides: "The earth belongs unto the Lord, and all that it contains. Except, of course for the Western Isles, for they are D. MacBrayne's."
You know, every Saturday I rush home from work, grab a bite then settle into the living room with my fiancée. Do we put on Britains got talent? Do we watch a movie? No, we’re straight on to youtube to see the latest Steve video. You are without doubt one of the most inspiring people to grace our TV screens. I hope this continues for many more years. Thanks for the videos Steve, we all owe you a lot.
Lovely to see Sligachan. I had a mate who rented a cottage there for a winter, so that he could play his enormous hifi properly loud without bothering anyone. I visited several times from Edinburgh - taking the long distance bus (I don't remember if I had to change in Glasgow, but I don't think I did). Spent Hogmanay at the hotel ceilidh - now that was a proper party. I remember the first time stepping off the bus - it stopped some distance from the hotel, on the other side of the bridge - and into the sleet and inky blackness, wondering how on earth I was going to be able to find my way to the cottage. But then I heard the mighty hifi from up the hill which led me, slipping and sliding on ice and slush, like a beacon in the night to warmth and safety and very loud music and whisky. It was ace.
Who in their right mind would skip the Skye journey montage?... Awesome looking trip to a wild and remote place - my idea of a great holiday. Pity about the bad news, but it still looks like a great place to spend some time!
Thanks for saving me the trouble of writing the comment about the Skye footage! I immediately suspected he might be going to St Kilda - it's on my list too but the crossing's always going to be weather-dependent.
Steve much as I like your journeys around Europe you can't beat the Scottish Isles.I am so grateful for your vlogs you are becoming my favourite vlogger. I would love it you could try and tick off all the populated Scottish Isles as I don't think I will ever be able to afford it myself. Thanks for all your work 😊
I do recall spending some 5 days on Harris waiting for an improvement in the weather in an attempt to get over to St.Kilda some years ago. The original first sailing over from Harris was cancelled by engine failure, the second attempt with another company by bad sea conditions, but at the 3rd attempt we all eventually made it after almost 4 hours. St.Kilda is well worth the effort, Hirta the main island is supplemented by remarkable nearby sea stacks and marine life, especially interesting are some unique animal species and rare plants which are only found there and no where else. The old village, school and manse are all most interesting and full of history. Hope you eventually make it to your destination Steve and thanks for your most interesting and absorbing travel content.
St Kilda has regained some importance after the Ministry of Defence installed some new monitoring kit on St Kilda, the other year to detect Russian submarines sailing out to the Atlantic through what is known as the Iceland-Shetland Gap, so that NATO can map their fleet. In case anyone has missed it, We are definitely in Cold War 2.
Said it before on the channel we are truely blessed with a beautiful country. Some lovely scenes mate and thankfully the weather held strong for you 🤟🏴
Hi Steve, I'm sorry but this is a sad comment. Whilst watching your video this morning along with my Golden Retriever, Ruby, ( I was telling her I was going to take her to Clachtoll beach), she suffered a stroke. By 1pm, the Vet had been and Ruby was gone. I do apologise for the sad nature of the comment but the past few hours have been some of the worst. You have inspired me to get back out and your videos continue to inspire. Today's trip would have been one she would have loved. Please give Ruby a shout out sometime, especially on a beach somewhere xxxx RIP Ruby 29/04/12-25/05.24.
One of my late Uncles lived in Stornoway back in the 1970s and we travelled from England to visit him. Took the best part of a day to get there from the Midlands if I remember correctly. I was a small boy and my most vivid memory is of beaches that looked like they belonged in the Maldives or Caribbean instead, totally unspoilt by commercialism.
One lifetime is not enough! We were visiting Skye on a beautiful sunny day ( like the day you were traversing the island) and we could see H&L in the distance. “Someday” we’ll go there we thought, but those days are dwindling down. Enjoying amazing vicarious travel through your channel from SF Bay Area. Thank you…!
The Skye Bridge: I preferred the ferry Broadford Co-op: It's a right of passage Skye roads: I remember when they were all single-track, and virtually no traffic on them Fabulous video...
Sadly haven't been able to follow your adventures recently due to personal circumstances, but great to be transported from my bed in a London hospital for a while and travel with you to the beautiful Hebrides. Thanks, Steve.
The Isle of Skye was my patch from 2006 through to 2016 when I was a clerk of works for the local authority and then the NHS. Seeing this makes me yearn for the Highlands once more.
Lovely way to start my Sunday down in New Zealand. The weather here looks like the weather up there .. a bit chilly and rain on the way. Looks like a really nice place. Thanks Steve.
Great video. Brought back so many memories for me.I cycled up here from Wigan Lancashire in July 1965. The ferry back then was MV Hebrides but was not RoRo. It had a lift to bring vehicles up to the level of the pier. Also no Skye bridge. Look forward to your next video and hope you make it to St Kilda. I have watched loads of your videos and find them very interesting and informative. Keep them coming.
Watching this from "across the pond" - I forget that I don't have to be nervous or exclaim "oh no!" when I see you driving on the "wrong side of the road."
Just lovely--those puffy white clouds over the mountains were amazing! Thanks for another gorgeous video. Now I can't wait to see if you made it to St. Kilda after all.
@PlanesTrainsEverything I got lucky and visited for 10 days, the week after the first lockdown ended. Started in Stornoway then all the way down to Vatersay. Weather was just like this video and there was hardly anyone there. Some parts were so beautiful I just had to sit there speechless and try to take it in. Best trip I’ve ever done, only just above my first Safari in Kenya 😎 Go for it.
Driving across the bridge to Skye can never replace my memory of a ferry crossing at sunrise & humming 'The Skye Boat Song" back in the day. I love all of Scotland but the Highlands & Islands are really special. ❤
Great video again, thank you Steve for taking us with you. A Saturday without your video wouldn't be the same. Lovely music, too. Can't wait for the trip to continue ❤
Lovely place to stay and visit - I'll be back there again soon this summer... Slowly getting round the islands - love them. Thank you for sharing Mr Marsh.
Saturday night here in Oz and Steve has posted a new video, hooray. Lovely ferry journey with calm seas and good views and a steak pie thrown in very enjoyable as usual. I do hope your trip to St Kilda goes ahead, until the next exciting instalment take care and stay safe, cheers from Oz.
What a beautiful place. If you can’t get to St.Kilda think of it as a reason to go up there again. Living on an island I appreciate those skies and endless views.
Your videos with a ferry ride are among my favorites, how I wish there were ferries around here. I'm looking forward to this adventure, thanks for bringing us along.
Every time you do a video of scooting around Scotland, it makes me want to visit there SO MUCH. I have been to England a few times but never made it up to your neck of the woods, hopefully one day. Great job once again.
Hi, great video. I was on a Rabbies tour two years ago, we travelled from Tarbert to Uist then through Skye back to Edinburgh. We came onto Lewis via Stornoway. Fabulous islands. I love the Scottish Islands, well all of Scotland really. Thanks for helping me relive precious times on Harris.
What a nice little trip, Steve! I gather that St. Kilda was a no go, but any trip into the Scottish countryside is better than any day in the city. Can’t wait for the rest of the adventure! Cheers, and ATB!
What a beauruful video. It brought back great memories of visits to Skye although I've never been to the Outer Hebrides so I'm really looking forward to your next videos. Thanks for sharing.
Steve I love watching your videos. The scenery in Scotland is stunning, the Hebrides looks very picturesque. Hope you enjoyed your stay, always nice to get away from your 4 walls. Looking forward to the next one, cheersc
Whenever I watch your videos like these it makes me want to get up to Scotland like, NOW! I love seeing the journeys you take (who would want to skip the montage? not me). Looking forward to the next one Steve and I really hope you get to your intended destination 🤞
I really enjoyed this video. Thank you. I lived and worked on Lewis for many years so all of this is such a joy to see. I am lucky enough to have several island friends who I visit 2/3 times a year. Thanks for the memories. I hope your St Kilda trip came off. 🤞🤞
Another fantastic video thanks Steve. While I enjoy your European adventures, I find your Scottish adventures particularly enjoyable. The scenery is always amazing, especially when the weather is sunny. The sea and the beaches are pristine. Looking forward to the next leg of our adventure.
Watching the video and reminiscing about our trip to Skye in 2019 with my wife. What an incredible experience it was, highly recommend. Thank you Steve!!!
Really glad to see this theme as we're off the revisit the Outer Hebrides (after a lightning drop-in from a cruise in April) in Sept. Watching carefully to what what we need to see! Thanks as ever!
Your ferry journey reminds me a lot of growing up in Bremerton, Washington and taking the ferry to Seattle. I used to commute daily, usually on foot, but occasionally I'd take my car if the weather was bad, or I had other things to do in Seattle, and more than once I've almost walked off that ferry and forgotten my car. ALMOST being the key word. Never did forget it entirely (thank goodness) The montage was lovely. It's funny how some areas can look so lonely and desolate, yet beautiful at the same time. Safe Travels, my friend...(Still need to get you that reserve Filson hat)
Hi Steve. Fond memories of taking that same ferry from Uig to Tarbet. Nothing like leaving port to the sound of ‘car alarms’. 🥴 We stayed in an annex of the Hotel Hebrides, a terrace of houses seen from your hotel room. They were equally well appointed. Highly recommended. Harris is our favourite of all the outer Hebrides, exceptionally beautiful. Excellent video as always. 👏👏👍😎
Thanks for another great video. The weather was really nice, and it looks as if you were enjoying the use of your car to get around the islands. Can't wait for your follow up to this trip.
Omg. The calling of the Highlands and islands is growing louder and louder. I love your Scottish videos, I get so many ideas for future trips. Your foreign ones are good but Scotland always beats them for scenery and sheer magnificence. 🏴😍
Yes it will be a MV, motor vessel with diesel engines, rather than a S S steam ship with steam boilers turning steam turbines. These ahipst are pretty rare now. Thank you for a lovely down to earth video. Haven't been to the Isle of Skye for a number of years so nice to see it again.
Hi Steve Another good one pleasure to watch over the BH weekend down here at the coast sunshine and all. Spent this morning watching a You Tuber climb Ben Nevis in glorious sunshine and again so far Isle of Skye and Harris again bathed in sunshine so far. All the best Crawford
I love the scenery in this video and your music selection enhanced it! We intend to visit the Hebrides next year so everything you post will be watched with great interest! We love Scotland!!
Thanks, that really wetted our appetite for a tour of the Highlands and Islands, Having lived up in the Borders for nearly 14 years you soon learn that all the various parts of Scotland have their unique beauty and quirks.
Oh Wow! Stunning & breathtaking. I simply love your videos of Scotland. Leaving us on a cliffhanger with St. Kilda! I do hope you made it Steve. The best You Tubers are always the ones who make you feel like you are actually there with them. Like going exploring with friends. I went all over Scotland when I was younger. I miss those days & can't do these things anymore, but have great memories. x J x
Steve lad, that was a fantastic film, Forgotten how Bonny Skye is, was last there with a group weekend away on my 1000cc Honda! Fantastic empty roads! I’m too old for biking now but ma I’d love to take my Aston Martin DB9 for a blast up there! Why you’ve not got 500,000 subs I’ve no idea! Superb!👍👏👏👏❤️🏴
Wow Steve! What wonderful scenery you have before you. Puts me in mind of Western Ireland. Somewhere I’d love to travel to but never managed to get to (former cabin crew with BMI). I adore Scotland (Scottish family)…looking forward to your next episode. Loving the music from Deskant too!
Loved the scenes of skye in the sunshine, lovely as always. Ferry trip was good too. Be sad if you don't get the st. Kilda trip but there was lots to see and admire in this video.
Cheers Steve, always my go to on Saturday morning! Once again to follow along, I had to get a map out....Scotland sure has a lot of coastline....6,160 miles of it!!!! Beautiful views, Galic sounds a little like my Chaucer classes from college, Whan that April with his showres soote The droughte of March hath perced to the roote, And bathed every veine in swich licour
I've been learning about beautiful Scotland since I have been watching your videos, what a wonderful country that I plan on visiting in the near future. Thanks for sharing with us.
All Scottish, Welsh and English should give thanks that they all live on such beautiful island (and surrounding islands). Yes it rains there a lot but the island of Great Britain is simply stunning.
Couldnt agree more
That's why the island is so fertile, productive and green!
A Spanish engineer coming to England for the first time, to work with a friend of mine at a British firm of engineers, said as she flew into England, that she couldn't believe how green everywhere seemed.
Naaaaa,I'm happy in Ireland
Well you can’t have a green land without rain.
You have never made a duff video yet, Steve. Your videos are gold-plated in my opinion. So natural and down to earth. I have seen many vids of Scotland that sound so pompous; but not the Steve Marsh Productions! May you have the enthusiasm and the will to carry on making these absolute gems. Thank you.
I agree with you about the quality of the videos🎉
Steve, your videos are the next best thing to actually being there.
I love how you always ensure a gentle pace, which allows us the sense of journeying with you, almost in real time.
Your camera work and editing are top notch too and I even enjoy your cheesy sense of humour!
Marvellous, Mr Marsh!❤
Sir, you take us all to places we wish we could go. Thank you for that. Through your genuine nature, we feel like we are there as well. Take care.
That’s exactly right. Nice guy and you feel you’re on that trip.
Thank goodness for lovely memories. They are so comforting as we grow older and lose loved ones.❤
Sending love & my thoughts. ❤
Only 55 - that’s incredibly sad. Memories are everything. Sending love to you. Xx
'Prefer to skip the Skye montage?' he asks. so glad we are back to classic Steve. A video with a ferry is a happy day.
Thank you for sharing Scotland with us. I've been wearing kilts and playing the bagpipes for 54 years, but I grew up in, and live in, California. Seeing Scotland with my own eyes may never happen, so I really do appreciate the time you take to show us this wonderful land.

Enjoyed your sharing .. my husband had a kidney transplant so traveling is scary even if covid is down.

Who in their right mind would skip the Skye journey montage?... Awesome looking trip to a wild and remote place - my idea of a great holiday. Pity about the bad news, but it still looks like a great place to spend some time!
Bad news? did I miss something?
Great minds...
I thought the very same thing.
Exactly what I wanted to write.
The ferry to St Kilda might not sail because of the weather.
Thanks for saving me the trouble of writing the comment about the Skye footage! I immediately suspected he might be going to St Kilda - it's on my list too but the crossing's always going to be weather-dependent.

Another wonderful video showing a beautiful part of the British Isles.
It shows Scotland! Use its name! Show some respect!
Who would ever skip that Montage? Beauty as always Steve.. As they say,, what could possibly go wrong?
Hi Steve, I'm sorry but this is a sad comment. Whilst watching your video this morning along with my Golden Retriever, Ruby, ( I was telling her I was going to take her to Clachtoll beach), she suffered a stroke. By 1pm, the Vet had been and Ruby was gone.

The beach, the sound of the sea birds, tearing at my heart. I loved the short holiday I had there.
Scottish scenery is breathtaking even on video!

Hi Steve Paul from Kent another superb video Scotland is such a lovely place keep up the great work you are doing.
This one I’ve been waiting for Steve since your brief stop in Stornoway on a previous episode. Thank you
That opening shot is quite breathtaking! Eilean Donan has been on my Scottish to-do list for a while.
Your videos with a ferry ride are among my favorites, how I wish there were ferries around here. I'm looking forward to this adventure, thanks for bringing us along.
What a fantastic area. We had a roadtrip across Scotland last year. I want to be back there. I miss it realy. It is so beautiful and relaxed
Dam Scotland is so beautiful. And, I’m a road trip guy. So looking forward to next video, weather be dammed. Thanks Steve. Again
Wow - who needs to go abroad when you have places like this in the British Isles - absolutely gorgeous and on my list!
wow steve thankyou so much for this trip. stunning scenery. Fingers crossed weather will stay kind and you get to that place
Another great video. Lucky you to have at least one beautiful day with cooperative weather! Cheers,
Wherever you choose to go, only amazing scenery left & right, up & down! Really worth getting out there, either hiking, trailing or simply strolling 💯
You arrived as we left! What an amazing place! Really loved Lewis&Harris. Our very good friend now lives near that big bridge to Scalpay.
Views were breathtaking looking forward to the next video
Great commentary and beautiful scenes - what a wonderful advertisement for Bonnie Scotland!! Keep up the good work, Steve....
Who needs to go abroad, when you have all this on our doorstep !! Beautiful Scotland . Thank you for taking me along on this wonderful trip Steve
Wonderful video, Steve.... really enjoyed seeing the Isle of Harris! So incredibly beautiful 🙏
Thank you Steve for the great video again. I will look forward for the next one. I like the music you are using.😀
Ahhhh lovely lovely Skye! We had a fabulous fortnight here. There's a smashing waterfall in Uig that many people miss as it's quite tucked away.
So enjoyed this, hubby watching along with me now too. Fabulous Steve, thank you.
Never did forget it entirely (thank goodness)
The montage was lovely. It's funny how some areas can look so lonely and desolate, yet beautiful at the same time.
Safe Travels, my friend...(Still need to get you that reserve Filson hat)
Lovely video, enjoyed the travel with beautiful scenery and music with your interesting comments through! Thanks 😊
Scotland for me is paradise!
Absolutely brilliant, Steve!
Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful journey !❤
This brings back happy memories. Love the crossing to Tarbert. Thanks! More please!
I very much enjoy your solo journeys! Beautiful photography and editing. Thank you.
Hi Steve, another grand day on tour, with more to come i can't wait 😊 take care . Regards Steve.
Excellent vlog Steve, can't wait for the next one. Thanks.
Great video! I like it when you go for a boat trip 😀
Thanks, that really wetted our appetite for a tour of the Highlands and Islands, Having lived up in the Borders for nearly 14 years you soon learn that all the various parts of Scotland have their unique beauty and quirks.
Another fantastic journey, you were fortunate with the weather, l look forward to the next videos, keep up the good work Steve, ❤
I miss those days & can't do these things anymore, but have great memories. x J x
Steve lad, that was a fantastic film,
Forgotten how Bonny Skye is, was last there with a group weekend away on my 1000cc Honda!
Fantastic empty roads!
I’m too old for biking now but ma I’d love to take my Aston Martin DB9 for a blast up there!
Why you’ve not got 500,000 subs I’ve no idea! Superb!👍👏👏👏❤️🏴
Do it!
I had similar weather in November up there with my Porsche. 🤓😏😉
Fantastic 💥
Beautiful views, Galic
sounds a little like my Chaucer classes from college, Whan that April with his showres soote
The droughte of March hath perced to the roote,
And bathed every veine in swich licour
I've been learning about beautiful Scotland since I have been watching your videos, what a wonderful country that I plan on visiting in the near future. Thanks for sharing with us.
