I just saw at the fanatec lab the 8nm power source only makes 4.8nm
And if i put the 5nm power suply only makes 3.6nm wtf!!!! I really feelt a decreasing of the power in the 8nm bosst kit over time like its to powelful and little by little almost no force at all and i mesure it 4.8nm bost kit and the iriginal 3.6nm...

as for pedals, u did the right choice. u can upgrade it to loadcell anytime,
handbrake is a must but only if u do drifting and rally, good choice.. but becarefull though its cheap sensor.. it will break 1-2years depends how often or how rough u use it (loadcell ones is better)

From the shorts and videos I see that previously you has TS-XW base, T-LCM pedals (am I wrong?)... In this case even 8Nm CSL DD can give you a wheel speed with a much quicker feedback. But 30cm wheel definitely will kill big part of this feedback. If you a rally girl - then fine. But a regular racing - for this base the small Formula wheel is the only option, to get the most of the base. But then almost forget about Rally, Euro Truck Sim.
Actually, exactly in your case, I'd rather recommend to get a Thrustmaster T818 base + a new quick release head for your previous wheel. That definitely will give you much more out of the box than 5nm CSL DD. With almost no disappointment for sure. Because wheel and pedals was fine already.
But anyway - Welcome to the Fanatec family! Hopefully LC + Boost Kit will make you much happier! :) See you on the Twitch!

  • @Cereal_Killr
    @Cereal_Killr 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

If you know someone with DIY confidence you can build the booster pack for this. All it is, is a more powerful power box....can be built VERY cheap with parts off of amazon. The one from fanatec is a huge rip off! the 8nm does make a pretty big difference. shoulda got Elite v2 pedals. not much more yet MUCH better. Also look into getting your damper setup in game and ALSO on the wheel base. Typically I run 25ish in game and 15-18 on the wheel base with the friction on wheel base around 10-15 too. Try those with lower damper in game. Makes things feel more snappy and sensitive. The wheel you got over what you had, is a much better base....you just need time to dial it in is all....and once you add booster pack THEN you'll be in a MUCH better base. Enjoy the CSL DD! Happy racing!

Congratulations. I hope you enjoy. I’m saving for Fanatec and hopefully will buy sometime next year. Wish I started sim racing years ago. I been gaming since the 90’s always loved racing games and never thought about buying a wheel and I can’t remember what made me buy my wheel in 2020. I guess I watched a review for racing game and reviewer probably had a wheel. I genuinely get panicky when I think about the thought that I only randomly got a wheel and the thought of not being able to race in my bedroom, don’t bare thinking about. It just gives pure joy. I loved gaming as a kid but when left school, I started work and fell out with gaming. I tried to get back into it as adult and I have fun with the odd game but sim racing is just a pure joyful passion.

@@riftblondie Your setup looks really great. I plan to get a cockpit like yours when I get my Fanatec gear. Gt Omega Prime. I have everything I need decided to buy from Fanatec but the only thing I’m unsure about, is what strength wheelbase to get for Ps5. There’s 5NM 8NM or 15NM. I leaning towards the gt dd pro 8Nm wheelbase. Reason I’m undecided is because if I buy 15NM wheelbase for £1000 but only have it set to less then 8Nm I’ll feel annoyed but I’ll also be annoyed if I buy 8Nm and need more. I don’t think I will need more but I’m not sure if the new 15NM Fanatec wheelbase does anything that the others don’t. Anyway hope you enjoy your new toys 👍

@@riftblondie ah, you saying about you driving fast, in real life, not being a good idea, reminded me of September 2022. I popped out on my e scooter, 1 morning, to go to a bakery, knowing the good stuff would be sold out but I went in hope. Nothing was left, I rolled past at 12mph and ended up crashing. I usually ride at 25-30mph and the 1 time I’m slow, I crash. 😭
And yeh, trying wheelbase would be great but nobody I know, is into sim racing.
Oh and yeh, I’ll probably go 8Nm or 15.
Just a heads up, if you plan to buy gear stick shifter, Fanatec have a regular version and a sequential shifter. I don’t drive in real life so I’ll make sure I buy sequential, to make it easier and I mainly play dirt and Wrc rally and you constantly shifting, so it will make life easier. 👍

idk if some would consider the t300(3.9 NM) a somewhat mid higher tier belt, but i wonder if its still substantial to upgrade to CSL 5NM DD. Thats the boat im in...
Also another factor is TM doesnt measure their wheels with NM so this is all community driven research. I hope the DD 5nm can still produce most of the same feelings(worried i might miss TM "canned" effects) and if its a little faster spin wise thats great cus i wanna drift.

Should avoid the Fanatec handbrakes if you enjoy rallying, mine lasted less than 12 months and it wasn't abused either, they're not as robust as many of the other alternatives out there, I'm loving the Sim-labs loadcell handbrake at the moment, it's night and day in terms of overall difference in use and quality and overall end product, far higher quality then the Fanatec model for a couple of quid more...

I am still debating on what bundle to get moza r5 or fanatec csl dd. This would be my first sim (but I always loved seeing videos about it and watching reviews) at first I was debating on getting a logitec but knowing myself I would later want to update so I am saving up money, my biggest issue is reading all the problems fanatec and moza have with shipping (I dont want to order something and wait months to get it I am in the U.S btw). But seeing this video aswell as many more I am probably going for the csl dd because later on I can slowly update parts in the future. Thanks for the video and I wish you luck on YT.

From what I heard the taxes are also higher in US so you might need to do a bit of research on that also. I hope you’ll make the right decision☺️

I use fanatec csl dd 8nm boost kit and also I upgraded to csl v2 load cell pedals they are absolutely fantastic compared to the csl pedals more control trail breaking etc. also use the McLaren gt3 v2 wheel. Currently awaiting for ClubSport 2.5 wheel and advanced paddle module just because McLaren wheel doesn’t have L2 or R2 buttons that are mappable on wheel and also for crisper gear shifting. If I can just give you another piece of feedback, when you describe the cons of something, try making specific examples, so that the viewers can actually understand what you mean. For example, when you say that you need more feedback from the wheel, try saying where and how you feel the lack of it (running over a curb, over gravel, while hard braking, while sliding... Things like that and describing what you feel, or don't feel), so that whoever has a different wheel can better understand if that's good for them and those who already own one might give you advices about how to set it, to improve the feeling :)

I just wanna drift on AC and had the t300 and loved it but i had to return it due to "ghost buttons". Also can csl dd produce most of the same feelings TM does? like im worried ill miss "canned" effects if thats even a thing.
Also it seems she had a TS PC or TS XW which is like 6.4nm. t300 is 3.9 but who knows they dont use NM to measure at TM and they use springs and other types of tension i assume to produce feelings.

Fanatec is selling a power supply for 150$ because the racing community is retarded and will buy it.
The CSL DD with NO BOOST KIT = 5nm "peak" but its "Constant Forces" is 3.5nm and possibly lower.
With boost kit, its 8 "peak" but "constant forces" are 6.8 so when people say it feels like double its geuinely is almost exactly double the strength.
T300 = Can produce up to Constant forces up to 4.5 and possibly higher peaks. Even if its the unnofficial 3.9NM we have seen people say it is then it actually still Edges out the CSL 5nm DD.
So even t300 owners are downgrading if they go no boost kit route.

I'm switching from my 16 years old gear driven Logitech Driving Force GT to the CSL DD.
Picked up the Shifter and Formula V2.5X wheel and clutch kit on black friday.
Waited with buying load cell and 8nm upgrade.
I think the switch from 2.4 to 5nm is enough for me for the first few months.

Going from Logitech to Fanatec is definitely an improvement and you will feel the difference! Just make sure to play with the settings and get to a point where you feel comfortable with the wheel. You can change almost everything in the settings with this DD base.

In short: overpriced. Even i get mine on sales on july
    - After only 1 month the up-shifter gets stucked for no reason. I played Euro Truck Simulator, and the paddles used for Volume knobs generally
    - After 4 months the pedals get shiny. The plastic on the throttle is total lost its texture, however i'm not a daily sim driver
May Fanatec hires different manufactures to build their hardware and sellsdifferent quality for ROW outside of Europe i don't know...
+1: EA WRC is now v1.4 and still can't handle LED stripe on P1 V2 (you can1t customise or switch Off) and it is annyoing a lot, on higher RPMs the light color burns into your eyes.

Hi! I can feel what you are saying and unfortunately for me, I had to make a move to another manufacturer. Review coming soon ☺️

Too bad Fanatec treat their customers like trash.
