Nice video. I didn't feel the torx alan key annoying on mine cause i work on bikes, and i have plenty of tools lying around. I did find the lack of screws a bit disappointing, given that 75% of people who buy this want to mount it to something
The problem with T-Nut systems is that the length of the screws is quite critical. Too short and you won't have enough engagement in the thread (maybe even damaging the thread when tightened), too long and they press against the bottom of the T-Slot without the screw head touching the mounting surface. And as the thickness of mounting surfaces varies widely, there is no one length that fits every situation.

Are you referring to the plastic ones on the McLaren Rim? They are crap and nobody should use them. I have found on multiple wheels that they are actually even crooked, so the wheel will not be in a perfect 90 degree angle from the base.
Good video, but i have a small rant towards Fanatec (Not you) I think the boost kit is a massive money grab... I've already seen images on reddit that the power supply specs are exactly the same as the CSL Elite and CSW 2.5 power supply units, just a different plug at the end. The voltage/ampere etc is all exactly the same, all the numbers are the same. It's obvious what they're doing, purposly making the 5NM cheaper but weaker, so eventually people will upgrade to the €150 "boost kit", or "overpriced power supply unit". I wouldn't be suprised if someone can make an aftermarket "Boost kit" for €40 euro's or less.
Actually the wheelbase pricing at the 8nm level is really fair and very reasonable from a DD wheelbase overall market standpoint. The 5nm unit is just underpriced to open up a new budget market for the Fanatec eco system using the DD wheelbase as its loss leader. Not much different than the grocery store pricing eggs or milk at or below cost level to get you in the store where they then make their money on the other items you purchase. People should be thankful that Fanatec has opened up the DD market at such reasonable price points rather than whining what they are charging for the difference in the two products and how they obtain those differences.
