I finally install a quickshifter on my Streetfighter

- My first time...riding a motorcycle with a quick shifter. I install a Ducati Corse Quickshifter on my Streetfighter 848. Then take it for a quick ride.

Nice mate on a different note my 848 engine warning light comes on with fuel light after a while also not sure if my fans are working are these issues related ?Thankyou
I just swapped the relays around on my SF848 after pulling all the fuses to check them the other day and my CEL/fuel light issue went away. It was giving me a fan 18.2 code. The contacts on my relays looked a little rusted so that might be a good place to start.
That being said, I'm definitely getting a DQS now.

@@DesmoMarcel My lights flashed again yesterday when I took off to work, but only for a brief moment. Nothing on the ride home though. It was flashing a lot before, and the CEL just stayed on after a while, but nothing now other than that brief moment yesterday.
Quickshifter on the SF848 is a must! I love it when I short shift and a huge blue flame just explodes out😂
Seriously the best! I know some people say that it’s useless unless you’re on a track, but the fun factor is 100% worth it
@@DesmoMarcel Only people without them says they useless...You need to experience a quickshifter to know why people love them. The funfactor is just through the roof.
@@DesmoMarcel I have the DQS on my SF848 since day 1 (bought it from the optional catalogue). I use it except for the 1st to 2nd gear upshift, 'cause that shift has the largest Rpm gap. Just for a bit healthier and long-lasting gearbox.
I saw you installed lots of mods on your bike; if I can tip you a mod, is the Evotech Exhaust bracket. Since you ride like me, with the single seater configuration, you can remove both the passenger footpegs and install the single sided bracket. It will give a much cleaner look to the back of your bike. Just know that you might have to wait for it if it's out of stock (I had to wait about 3 months), 'cause it's not a much requested item, and they will wait to group up a bunch of requests to start production. By the way they will let you know when the item is available by email.
Oh, and another advice...I don't know how much Km your bike has on, but past year mine broke the clutch slave cylinder gaskets. Sadly Ducati won't sell you only the gaskets kit, and wants you to rebuy the entire clutch slave cylinder. So I bought the CNC Racing Pramac Limited Edition one. It comes in 3 different colours (red - black - gold) and it will have the manutention kit, for about 50 dollars, that allows you to replace all the gaskets without purcashing a new clutch slave cylinder. And you can choose on 3 (i think) different sizes, if you want the clutch lever a bit more soft to pull or leave it just as it is.

@@masterofpuppets1985 I actually have an Evotech exhaust bracket waiting for me to install it. I’ve just been debating it since it won’t allow my wife to ride with me, but honestly she rarely does. I think that’s was the push I needed to get it done. I’ll look into the clutch slave cylinder, that’s one thing I haven’t done yet either. Thanks for the tips

Did you just bypass the factory DQS? If am not mistaken, the DQS when is turned on is manage by the ECU. Or the display is only to tell you that it is wired for it but you still have to install a quick shifter?
Yes you still have to install a quickshifter. The bike is set up to take one, but does not come with one from the factory. So installing the Ducati Corse quickshifter uses all the factory components. Plug and play
What it’s really a quick shifter? Looks just like an automatic clutch or an automatic gear lever actuator, or is it both? I guess for me the least electronics interventions I have is better as I feel more mechanically connected. New generation want all thru a computer. 2024 I ride my sf848 so graciously on the mountain passes it needs nothing!

I just picked up a 2012 SF848 myself and was a QS on it, In the owner manual it say's that it can run Up and Down, how would I go about confirming this without damaging the bike would you know? thanks in advance man!
Definitely does NOT shift down with the quickshifter. Only up
Any issues with the quickshifter yet? Some people says it can damage the gearbox. I think its only recommended to use it in higher gears, right?
Don’t know how I missed this, zero issues. I usually don’t shift from 1st to 2nd unless I’m really getting on it. Other gears totally fine.

Yup, plug and play. Activate in the dash settings after that and you’re good to go 👍
Before you put this QuickShifter part you had this DQS on-off message in your Dashboard!?

True, new ones have both ways. This one does just go up. Although I’m pretty sure there are some aftermarket ones that you can add that will go both ways.
That being said, it’s still super fun!

A friend of mine is lookinflg for a quickshitfer for his 2009. 1098s
The bike in this video was a 2015, my current Streetfighter 848 is a 2013. The quick shifter is the same one though even for a 2009 1098S.
Debating on a used 2015 or spending double on a 2022 SF V2. Any wisdom that you may enlighten me with to help with my decision
I haven’t had the pleasure of trying out a newer V2. Tempted though. I love my sf848. I don’t know, that’s tough. You’ll have more parts available for the V2 since it’s a newer model. Sometimes looking for things for the 2015 model is hard, or you have to score parts from forums or ebay

Yes plug and play. Just have to activate in the dash/menu
Hello. I have a 2009 streetfighter 1098s and I cant find the wire where you plug the quickshifter. Can anyone help me?
It’s tucked back in there. Look for the rubber strap that holds it on with other wires. Start watching at 2:30

why don’t you fit an airbag and a parachute, and cover it all in balloon material so it doesn’t get scratched when you fall over? I’m sorry, but a clutch and a gear lever for using in combination and the quick shifter is for dummies. hello millennials and anybody born after the 1970s and 80s. Motorbikes never used to have quick shifters, ABS, DDA, ECU, and idiot proof things for people who don’t know to ride all of this stuff is great safe driving assistance. But I’d say the only good thing about the street fighter which I also own one, along with five other Ducati and two MV Agustas, a Harley and some other bikes too (custom), I would advise you all to watch the documentary on TH-cam about the history of motorcycling from the first and second World War™, the 60s and after and the documentary about motorcycling in the 80s in England and in the 60s because there’s plenty of documentaries about it and then you’ll learn your roots because if you’re a young man now getting your first bike or upgrading your bike to something like this, and you don’t know the history of motorcycling then you’re not a biker. You’re just a kid who got a toy. He’s gonna throw away next Christmas when he gets something new.
