  • @DevMeloy
    @DevMeloy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    The Ducati low speed roughness is caused by running super lean to meet emissions, all the Ducati's that I owned had the Termi kit and tune which took away the slow speed issues. I know it sucks to spend a couple grand to "fix" an already expensive bike but the effect is well worth it. It isn't for everyone but Duc's just have such personality that most other bikes just don't have. Note: my favorite bike I've owned was a CBR 1100XX.

  • @Desmo904
    @Desmo904 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    So, with the addition of the wings and a pipe yer looking at 20k! Yikes! (27kg of downforce at 155mph. Great for the milk run down to Tesco, or the chippie) Nice bike, expensive, but nice.

  • @crocie
    @crocie 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Why are you trying to put this bike in the same class as an mt-09? It competes with the 10 and the gsx-s1000. The V2 has 150 hp, practically on par with the GSX-S1000 and just shy of the mt-10 at 158hp. The MT-09 has 115hp. This bike is, contrary to what you said, a supernaked. I'd call the V4 a hypernaked.

    Massive amount of new bike releases at the end of 2021 and they all look pretty fantastic. It's interesting to compare the bike market against the car market as there's so much variety for two wheels but if you're looking for a new car, it's probably a hybrid or electric SUV. Could this be the best ever time to be motorcycling?

Yes, I know, some might think I’m being picky, but for us NZers, it matters 😉😁👍. Two, the UK and Euro pricing seems much higher than NZ and Australia. The RRP here in NZ is $23,495. I should have written “we” but I was priced out from the market long time ago and I’m back to poster on the wall era. The strange thing is all this performance makes bikes bland on the road and if you want to use them legally as they were designed to be used you need a track. For a track there are much better bikes for much less money though so I’m pretty confused who is this for? My initial though is the poser… strange world we are living.

    The MT-10 is pretty similar and it’s a lot cheaper. You do have a point that there aren’t a lot of bikes that get close, but for anyone looking for one it’s worth considering. The Yamaha has 165 horsepower instead of the Ducati’s 155, although it’s more made for fun than performance oriented from what I’ve seen unlike the Ducati. 3 grand is a lot of money tho, definitely worth considering in the “somewhere around a liter sportier naked” class (currently looking at these sorts of bikes, any feedback would be much appreciated)

    I own the V2 panigale now, but I am really considering getting the SF V2. I ride mostly only joy rides in the twisties and I do a couple of track days per year, so should I change?

    • @Agouti
      @Agouti 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Question is what do you want that the Panigale doesn't offer? If you love the chassis, love the engine, and can at least put up with the suspension then the SF could give you a comfier seating position.

    The low end midrange pull of a V2 just can't be beaten!
    It would be the 950sp motard for me personally.

      This hasn’t got anything like the low-end pull of a Hypermotard, sadly

      The V4 does not have the low end torque either, when compared got to the 1198 testa . The power torque deliver is at high revs for a V4. Am Curious how the V2SF compares to the V4 torque wise at low revs for weekend canyon riding.

    Power aside, is it better on road and track than the 890R?

    Hello 44teeth and all other readers , I want to buy a Ducati street fighter , should I go for V2 or V4 ? I will use it mostly on weekends to drive in the city. That’s it.

    • @TheValbunnys
      @TheValbunnys 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you will have to buy both v4 for track weekends and v2 for roads and city 😂

  • @RandomShart
    @RandomShart 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In this price and power bracket I believe it's sits in a group test with the mt-10 and s1000r etc, rather than 890R and co. It's expensive but as you said that's the Ducati premium. I like it, great review too.

      Totally agree @RandomShart....I got the new S1000R Sport back in June, love it, and for £14k well pleased with bang v buck...but must admit am keen to try the V2, but couldn't part with £15k for it...
