    I keep looking at the cable tower attachment for the bench, but by the time someone pays for it, the IM2000 starts looking appealing.

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not had a chance to use the cable tower attachment, but it looks awesome, especially with its 1:1 pulley ratio. However, you’re right, you can increase your number of exercises considerably with the IM 2000.
      With the IM 2000, for Pulldowns, you can sit on the floor and lock yourself into the roller pads. Also, the sit up attachment works decently to lock yourself down for Pulldowns when it’s connected to the super bench pro (I show that in my review of the sit up attachment), but the cable tower attachment is the most like a traditional lat pulldown.

    • @RobGraham1
      @RobGraham1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I recently sold the cable tower attachment and got an incredible deal on a used, almost brand new, IM2000. You are right, the cable tower doesn't save that much space compared to the IM2000, plus I had to have an olympic plate stand too. And the IM2000 pulleys are way smoother. It must be the leverage to the pulleys, but the pull down is like butter it feels way smoother than the cable tower pull down. The low pulley is super smooth as well. And as you said, you can do tons of exercises with the Im2000 and there's less set up. The cable tower you have to turn around to use the low pulley. that was getting old. Both products are great, however, if one has the space, I would recommend the IM2000 over the cable tower.

    FYI, if you lay back and down when doing your leg extensions it'll illicit the stretch response (for greater hypertrophy and mobility) of the quad better, but I'd suggest to lightening the weight a bit until you get use to it. However you're probably only talking about a 5% (average) gain over your lifetime vs. doing it the "normal" way.
    I've got my eye on the pro 2 model... seems like the right choice for me.

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews

      I’ve tried that; for whatever reason, my back isn’t real crazy about performing leg extensions supine. V2 definitely looks like a good bench, when I had this bench, I bought almost all the upgrades…so my V1 is basically a V2.

    Very helpful review...thank you. I have had the older "Super Bench" model along with many of the attachments except leg attachment for over 12 years - great bench. I've recently wondered if I should switch to the Super Bench Pro. Would like to buy the leg attachment (and hybrid bench pad) and bkz the leg attachment is the only piece that is bench specific, it is forcing the decision...stay with the current SB or make the change now to the SB Pro. I'm not really bothered by older Super Bench's extra height (I'm 6'4")...and the slightly higher small slide-in seat setting is a plus (SB's taller 3 seat settings vs SB Pro's 2). Is the SB Pro leg attachment better than the SB version (I noticed the SB Pro must be in a decline position as opposed to basic SB which remains flat - advantage or disadvantage)? Apart from the height, 2 attachment locking knobs (vs SB's 1) and stiffer pad you mentioned, is the SB Pro more stable or inherently "better" in your experience...are the attributes of the newer Super Bench Pro worth making the change over to? Thank you.

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much! I am really glad to hear you like your Ironmaster pieces. I have not had the opportunity to use the OG Super Bench. However, I will say the leg ext / curl is one of my favorite attachments for the SBP. The bench at a 10 degree incline is a good thing IMO bc it creates additional space between your feet and the floor.
      However, getting the SBP just for the Leg Ext / Curl is a tough call. With your height, I just don’t know if it’s going to feel too low…although 17” is what most benches are. If you could sell the OG and put some of that money towards the SBP it’s is probably worth it….just make sure you like pressing on a 17.2” bench.
      However, if you have the room and funds, keep both, bc at your height, the seated shoulder press on the SBP is going to be low.

    I bought the Hyper Core and absolutely hated it; it was returned back to IM.
    As you showed in the review, it needs to be dropped down onto the floor after it's setup on the PRO bench, makes causes a loud slam. This also makes it tough to take out of the bench once you are done with it.
    Instead of getting the additional attachment so that you don't have to connect it to the bench, I just got a standalone fold-able version from another brand.
    All the other attachments have been great though and I absolutely love what IM has on offer 😀
    I've been super happy with my purchases from them, well worth the money.

      I’m glad to hear you are happy with most of your IM purchases. I’ve been really happy with all of the attachments, even the Hyper Core, but it helps that I have it in a permanent spot always connected to the lat tower seat. I don’t think I would like it as much if I only had the Super Bench Pro to connect it to.

    • @plmn93

    • @juan.v9952
      @juan.v9952 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@plmn93 I wouldn't recommend you to get the one from Iron Master, since the reliance on the bench makes the setup tedious. Great vid again HGHR
    Would the preacher pad be ok for big fellas like myself? Or would I be far too hunched over or would tilting the bench slightly upwards with the point of the bench where the preacher is elevated work? The preacher pad is 1 of the SBs most crucial attachments I feel, along with the leg curl/ext and the crunch attachment, but it looks like it only has 1 height setting
    Other option is to go down the ATX/Powertec attachment bench route as they seem to have better adjustability with their leverage preacher curl attachments but also better adjustability with the leg extension being able to sit back on the bench with a backrest, something the Ironmaster SB doesn't do (need a barbell backrest hack as you show in the vid), though the SB will be better for my dumbbells as it opens up the spotter stands option and gives me a solid flat bench option/occasional adjustable bench
    Probably can get away without the preacher attachment if a dedicated station fits in my setup 🤔 though I do like the idea of dragging the SB over to a cable station for curls

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, RWBB! You are right, there is only one height setting for the preacher pad, but as you mentioned, slightly changing the angle of the bench might work. It’s difficult to say for sure without trying it in-person. From time to time, one of my 6’4” friends visits and when he does I’ll have him try it out (unfortunately, he is presently out of the country).
      The preacher is one of my favorites, if not my favorite, of the SBP attachments. However, the leg ext / leg curl is up there too. It fits me really well and when going heavy it just feels “right” (even without handles and a back support) and especially since having the wider pad on the bench.

    Great video, which is better IM2000 or Powertech leverage gym, as I am going to build a garden gym, here in the UK and wounded which is most versatile

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews

      Both have a high/low pulley. Your decision may be largely based on if you prefer a straight bar or handles like on the Levergym. I haven’t hacked the IM 2000 as much as the LG because I haven’t had it as long, but I have 4 videos showing all of the different things that can be done with the LG.

    What would be the factors to consider between the bench pro Chin Up attachment vs the Ultimate Chin Up Attachment IM2000? I am 5' 11" and 185 pounds. Thank you in advance for your time!!

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a video for the Ultimate Chin Up attachment. One needs to be mounted to the IM 2000 and it has adjustable knurled handles while the other is an attachment for the bench with neoprene grips. If you have the IM 2000 and the super bench, I would take the Ultimate over the attachment.

    • @nislau03
      @nislau03 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HomeGymHacksandReviews Thank you for the recommendation I figured the Ultimate having knurled and being attached permanently to the IM2000 might be more stable and more important keeping things flowing. I mean less barrier to just jump into pull up vs lowering the bench look for the attachment setting it up etc.

    • @nislau03
      @nislau03 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the equipment from the video that is useful will be the dip attachment because its a single piece compared to the dip attachment for the IM2000 that you have to lower the bar then setting the handles individually compared to the easy of use of the bench..IMO

    Hello, do you know if the max. Weight supported by the hypercore attachment is intended user+weight or just weight without counting the weight of the user ?

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      300 pounds takes into account the weight of the user and whatever additional weight is added to the exercise.
