I've heard other complaint about the small seat, recently seen they produce a bigger seat. 🤷 I'm not a big dude so this super bench would fit the bill but still a bit high in my price range 😢
I’ve had both Rogue and REP FID benches and sold them. They were sturdy, overbuilt, great grippy vinyl, loved them. But just too cumbersome to constantly maneuver around. I’ve got my wife to think about and two grade schoolers (5th and 8th) who use the gym too - Enter the Super Bench Pro V2. I don’t need any of their attachments, except the Leg Crunch. I have been slowly “working on” improving an already fantastic bench. 1. Added two handles and another set of wheels. Upgraded wheels to ball bearing wheels and added knurled handles over the stock ones. 2. Purchased another set of the larger sized leg rollers and a longer rod and swapped out the tiny baby ones. 3. Had an insert printed up that fits into attachment post and locks in and allows for upright storage that is also perfectly level. 4. I am purchasing the same extra grippy vinyl that REP uses and having an Upholstry shop reupholster the seat and bench pad. I love the hybrid idea because it allows for using narrower end for certain exercises that it is beneficial for, so replacing with a straight pad doesn’t appeal to me like some who have swapped with REPs pre-made replacements. I don’t feel like this bench is inferior to a Black Wing or Manta Ray. I put up a lot of weight and I’m not any weaker on this than my REP AB 5000, I don’t slide or slip while pressing and I feel just as comfortable. Once I’m done with all my mods, I feel that I will have created the perfect bench…for me…I will then invite you over to lift on it and dare you not to love it! I will also have spent too much money on it 😂
Thank you for this post, I've been debating back and forth between the ironmaster Pro 2.0 and the Rep 5200 2.0, but being I'm 5'5" and I will be moving the bench from standing tucked against a wall to use it every day I've been on the fence about the weight difference of the Rep bench vs the ironmaster. AND being I'm in Canada the shipping for the Rep bench is $135 alone, by time I factor in shipping and taxes the Rep bench is $300 more putting it at just under $1000!
I have the Pro V2 and I love it.. I Also use the dip and Pull-up attachment to save space and while not perfect, it's more than good enough to get the job done and also better than other alternatives. Good review though. Wishes for a V3: - A seat with tilt functions, more angles. - A little more stable when using the attachments (also, make more attachments and upgrade them too?? That's actually it for me, other than that I think it's great. Maybe a little protective cover on the pad when it stands.

Ive been using the preacher curl attachment with my rep curl bar. I ordered the 75lb dumbells too with it. My first set of adjuatable dumbells and love them as well. My main gripe is also the seat, but it does hold me in place very well, which isn't something I can say about most ladder bench seats because they usually don't adjust up enough. I'd rather be secure than comfortable, I guess, so I'm OK with it.
I have the rep AB-5200 and the FB-5000 but still love having this bench around. When doing lighter weight presses, various incline rows/rear delt (no seat pad or ladder system in the way), decline/sit-ups or just plain rolling it up for cable preacher curls I find it very convenient and easy to move around. Still use my rep benches for most dedicated presses for more comfort and stability but probably use my Ironmaster about half the time
Thanks for the great review my friend . I feel this bench look cheep to me when compared to REP and Rogue. I own the REP BlackWing and am very happy with it. I have heard REP is coming out with some attachments for it. I am hopeful one of them will be a leg extension/hamstring curl. Happy Hollidays my friend. Love your content.
If you flip the wheels and the handle it should stand vertical. At least the v1 version does. 100% agree with the UHMW protection to protect the pad, although I've had the v1 version for ~3 years and the pad is still fine. Big fan of the channel! Really love the content you guys are providing!!
Not counting the attachments (which range from good to great), this bench is just so good and near perfect for the basics. It doesn’t have the detail-orientedness of Rogue, REP, GetRxd and others but those details aren’t needed for most people. I ended up putting a REP FB-3000 pad on my Super Bench Pro and replaced the seat pad with a REP CleanGrip one which is much bigger. Being a former wood shop teacher, you probably would do a much better job than I did. Regardless, it’s basically perfect as an accessory bench since I already have a dedicated Rogue flat bench. My favorite thing about it is probably using the decline attachment to hold my legs down for lat pulldowns.
It has incline, decline, amazing attachments, lightweight and SAME max weight capacity as these other “commercial” benches, sorry, this IS the 👑 I have V2 and it was worth every penny, almost got a Blackwing but your review showed me attachments where an afterthought and it’s max capacity wasn’t any better for real heavy bench days.
I own one and I think it’s hands down the best for home gym users. Yeah, the benches from Rep and Rogue are nicer as pure benches, but the ecosystem from Ironmaster puts this way over the top. If you’re short on space and interested in the functionality the ecosystem offers, this is the way to go.
It's not even about the ecosystem, IMO. The light weight, ease of use, and not having a gap make it a pleasure to use. Some of these new Rep and Rogue benches are monstrous, way overbuilt for 99% of home gym users.
@@plmn93 Yup. The quality is nice no doubt but they literally weigh twice as much. It practically stat sheet padding and hurts rather than helps utility. I'd love for a REP/Rogue/whoever to offer a lighter weight option.

I'm looking for a leg curl / extension setup like this that can clip into my (very DIY) pulley system instead of loading plates (to get more uniform resistance through the movement). Do you know of any solutions for this kind of thing?
Question, will the reps leg attachment fit on the super pro? I would like the option to do nordics on here as well just not sure if the attachments will fit.
Do you know if this bench would allow for GHD or Nordic with the attachments? Deciding if i could get this instead of something like from freakathlete nordic hyper
Gluck, great review. Looking at the 4 post Ares in the background, two of its shortcomings are the inability to incline and the lack of a pull up bar. Does this solve those problems? You could definitely add the pull up attachment to the Ironmaster bench. Given the short length of the bench and small seat, can you incline with the 4 post Ares?
Same. Plus my whole gym setup is rep fitness but I’m tempted to buy the Ironmaster bench especially since they’ll be having a 20% off sale for Black Friday soon.
@@jonb5331 Ended up grabbing the Ritfit PLC01 extension / prone curl. Has a cable to eliminate the resistance issue. Still gonna grab a Ironmaster V2 bench just for the leg holder attachment. Setting up a knee holder for my Titan rack mounted lat pull-down holder is a pain. Thanks for the heads up on 20%. That’s huge. Might have to pull the trigger
I almost bought the Super Bench pro 2 this week. Someone talked me into my second choice the Rep AB 4100. No I regrets at all. I love the AB4100. The pad and vinyl are perfect, the bench is very sturdy. I can’t imagine the AB5200. I still kinda want the super bench for decline, sit ups and leg extensions/curls. Maybe I will get one too later. 😂
I know a guy with a logical amount of benches who could talk to you about the finer points of each option 😂 He may or may not talk you into and out of lots of them.
@@GlucksGym I guess I could have phrased that better. My bad. Someone I know of owns a lot of benches and answered questions I had about each bench. I ended up going with the AB4100, but still really want both!!!
I’m in a similar situation, Ironmaster Super Bench Pro V2 vs REP AB-4100. Ironmaster’s fixed 90 degree seat angle and REP’s wobble gives me second thoughts. Leaning toward REP though.
Is the dip bar sturdy? That’s my main interest in this bench, but the product pictures on their website show people using the dip bar at less than 90 degree angle, which seems suspicious.
Since you have both ... so the Ironmaster attachments fit the Bells Of Steel Buzzsaw and vice versa? Could you mix and match which bench and which attachments?
After considering your review, I have made the decision not to purchase the bench. Although I was initially tempted to buy it, your review has influenced my choice. Great review
Yep, most people put them the other way so the front is narrower doing incline work. Though, that's part of the versatility of this bench. You can put them wherever you want.
@@plmn93 didn’t think of that. Guess the wider part hasn’t gotten in my way doing incline but makes sense. I also added the extra wheels and handle so you can grab and wheel around from either side.
@@GlucksGym appreciate the response! I watched your mantra ray vs blackwing comparison and saw the size difference there but was curious on this one. I’m not sure there is a leg attachment that would fit the manta ray for leg extensions currently out there… (was looking for one and was considering the black wing bench and adding on the bolt/venom gapless attachment hack I’ve seen on Reddit. But I kinda wanted the Manta ray bench after your review…) anyways, thank you for letting me know!
As i already have a solid bench, the REP AB-3000 2.0 - I am wondering if the Bulletproof Isolator is the better buy... as the attachments for the ironmaster are pricey, and honestly don't look to be high quality.
God dam it... Why was i watching this while i put mine together. I know you said "I don't read directions" (well neither do I), but i ended up putting the wheels on the wrong side because you did the same thing, lol
I'm 6ft 3.5 (flatfooted with no shoes ) 240lbs and long legged. It will work fine and it is very stable. It's great that if and when you need to remove it for space saving measures you can easily detach leg curl attachment. I actually have all the accessories for it and it's great. I even have the cable tower and that's another whole animal.
But if I go practical and versatile, how does that leave room for overbuilt and color matching?? 😂 good info but ignorance is bliss on the versatility but I really love a solid heavy specialist bench
Help!! Oh great, benchmaster. I need the smallest folded and stored footprint available that I hopefully won't die on. A home gym is but a dream, however, not at my wife's house but my semi truck. So yes, room is at a premium. Even if I have to switch some hardware to some kinda quick release hardware store special sauce. While planet fitness is kinda handy I can't make it daily as parking a tanker can be tricky. I've seen a few others grab some Amazon benches and just use quick release hardware... I figured I'd ask your opinion. What would you do if you had to fit a bench and some kinda portable squat stand of death in your waterheater closet sans waterheater?
If only Ironmaster had a conventional style seat for this bench, that's the only reason putting me off from buying it and looking at the less versatile line of Rep benches. Come one Ironmaster sort it out!
Bought this bench based on another review and regretted it. I'm on taller side and don't feel that this bench was a good choice for me. It is light so it does have that going for it. It's also easy enough to change the incline... but it's pain to set it to a specific angle as 1) the angles aren't marked on both sides and 2) the numbers are hard to see unless you bend way down or tip the bench slightly.
I've personally found that benches that are trying too hard to do too much fall short of my desires. I would rather have a bench that does bench stuff really well and then get leg work, dips, etc. with other rack mounted pieces
Do you think you could use the dip bar attachment as a roman chair? Like with your back to the inside of it, and your forearms on the grips and do leg raises. Or would it be torture?
What benches would you like to see in a huge comparison vid?
Ethos. A lot of people buy them. Want to know ur thoughts

I’m in a similar situation, Ironmaster Super Bench Pro V2 vs REP AB-4100. Ironmaster’s fixed 90 degree seat angle and REP’s wobble gives me second thoughts. Leaning toward REP though.
You need to review the new updated version of the Force USA MyBench. It comes with attachments and can be had for $400-500.
Thoughts on the new kensui MAX adjustabells?
They're supposed to send them so we'll be doing a review on both version (hopefully) soon
I absolutely hate the seat on mine as well, but I love the bench so much.
Would be nice if they came out with a new seat attachment that could be angled.
@@bradcondran8896 Wouldn't be hard to do for somebody who can bend tubing.
@@bradcondran8896 I agree!
Hey Gluck, do you think its safe to use the dip on the shorter side? Trying to see if I can sneak in weighted dips by getting this next to my Rhino
You can actually use a dip belt and plates without hitting the locking ring.
Or face the other way, I do that 👍
Can you please to the bolt blaze adjustable bench with leg curl???
Thank you for the review! What bench do you feel has the best platform for a decline bench press?
The Manta Ray. Beefiest rollers and attachment. After that maybe the Blackwing
How much of an issue for foot placement is the fact the bench is not tri-post design?
For me it hasn't been an issue but I also don't tuck my feet in super close.
thanks for the review please review the marrs bar 2.0
Bench 🤴🏻
😊👑
Nice equipment ...
Is the dip bar sturdy? That’s my main interest in this bench, but the product pictures on their website show people using the dip bar at less than 90 degree angle, which seems suspicious.
So did you purchase the preacher curl pad (as alluded to in your review of version 1) ? How are you storing the various attachments when not in use?
I didn't 😥 I figured I'm over 1k in the hole on this one bench so I didn't push my luck. I put them on a shelf atm
Happy to help!
Do you think Rep is going to add some more attachments for their Blackwing to bring similar versatility? Have your little birds told you anything?
Rep has teased in some comments that they are planning on releasing a leg curl/extension attachment and some other things in the near future.
They're hinted at it... For years 🤣 haven't seen any yet
@@GlucksGym Exactly. You can buy Rep and hope, or you can buy the bench that has all that today.
I think you might have put the legs on the wrong sides. I have this bench and it stands up perfectly.
You can swap them but either way the pad rests on the ground.
@@GlucksGymtrue. Still a great video! Hope y’all have a great thanksgiving!
Yep, most people put them the other way so the front is narrower doing incline work. Though, that's part of the versatility of this bench. You can put them wherever you want.
@@plmn93 didn’t think of that. Guess the wider part hasn’t gotten in my way doing incline but makes sense. I also added the extra wheels and handle so you can grab and wheel around from either side.
can you do nordics on the super bench pro with the crunch attachment?
Maybe an odd question, but do you know if the leg extension attachment would work on the rogue manta ray?
Nah it won't. Rogue's attachments have a much larger mount.
I have a small gym space and looking for a bench I can do leg curls on. I’m 6’4” what would you recommend
@@bruceantoineii8875 thank you
10:05 For the bakery workers out there, is it that it’s merely inconvenient/unoptimized, or is it the case that it is completely unusable?
It's usable but the seat is a little small so with heavy lifts you'll feel the pressure more. It's just not as comfortable as many other options.
Ironmaster please offer a larger seat option.
Any chance the attachments fit on the blackwing?
Is the V2 padding any softer than the V1?
Man that seat gap is INSANE.
But if I go practical and versatile, how does that leave room for overbuilt and color matching?? 😂 good info but ignorance is bliss on the versatility but I really love a solid heavy specialist bench
Me too man, me too 🤣
No bench is over 1k max weight and this one is max weight, nothings breaking unless you are a world class strongman
It's the most versatile bench it's the second most versatile bench powertec work bench does have alot of attachments.
Interesting. I'm 6'3" and I fit on it fine. I'm long-legged though with a 36" inseam so my torso may be shorter.
I'm 6ft 3.5 and 240lbs and the V2 is just fine
Cool
Is there a discount code for ironmaster?
No. They run a Black Friday sale but not much else.
They currently have a $100 off New Years sale that ends tonight.
I've personally found that benches that are trying too hard to do too much fall short of my desires. I would rather have a bench that does bench stuff really well and then get leg work, dips, etc. with other rack mounted pieces
Try it out at Home Gym Con 2024, we'll see you there!
How tall is Winnie? I'm 5'6" which is short but not super short.
She's 5'6"
Can you do Nordics on this bench?
Do you think you could use the dip bar attachment as a roman chair? Like with your back to the inside of it, and your forearms on the grips and do leg raises. Or would it be torture?
They need a bigger seat tho
Edit: lol 10:30 is exactly what i said when i got mine
FIRST FINALLY!
👑 Congrats!
“This knob has been upgraded…”
😉
You put the wheels on the wrong end. Swap them and it stands much better vertically.
Still sits on the pad and that's the real issue. Same thing with my FB 5000 and after a few years the vinyl is wearing some.
@GlucksGym Sure, but having the bench stand up straight would at least even out the pressure on the pad so it potentially wears less.
#1
handle on the wrong side
I see that the cake did not fit.
