Amazing specimens!! When I moved from Southern Oregon, I had to leave most of my collection behind. Seeing these makes me wish I could afford to go back for rocks!! LOL 🥰🥰 Thank You for sharing the adventure!
@itslattice4195 I took a few with me, I have an incredible jasper specimen, but hundreds of pounds of rocks wasn't getting on the airplane with me! LOL I hope whoever owns that house now appreciates the rock garden!
Nice to see you back at it! The heat and smoke have finally left the Rogue Valley and I was just thinking about heading out this weekend to collect some petrified wood and agate. Thanks for the video and motivation. Let me know when you can arrange a trip down here.
Nice! Get out there!! Smoke has been pretty bad recently. We tried to go out last week but turned around and came home when we saw dense smoke clinging to the Ochocos. Maury Mountains were/are on fire. I might be able to do a day trip that way soon. I have Wednesdays and Thursdays off every week. Are those days you have time?
@@itslattice4195 Good to hear from you. Anytime you want to come over this way I can make myself available. I work for myself and my clients love stones also. Meaning I am ready to rockhound anytime your able.
Hey Jay what's up brother. Went rockhounding the other day and the rocks were plentiful. The weather here in the Rogue Valley is beautiful, let me know when you're ready to rockhound.
@mountainfamilymineralsandr182 right on! Glad to hear you go lt out. I'm down to make a road trip soon. Might be able to try for Thursday if that times out for you.
Dude! Love the process you and the boy went through to get that seam agate out! Those are some of the best moments. That anticipation is hard to beat. Let's get out and do some hunting bro! I'm in Pville
@@itslattice4195 Every weekend...and some weekday evenings. Went out one-fifty road the other day, up the hill to the top looking for that agate vein in situ haha Went out three-hundred the other day too. Tubes and Skaggs. Found some really beautiful agate with sharp quartz plates.
Really enjoyed each and every find. I’m stuck inside right now so I get to live some of my rockhounding dreams through videos like this. I’m learning some good geological info here too. Thanks!
Very cool video! Just subscribed. Definitely dig your style of video making! That material reminds a lot like some of the stuff down here, southern Cali, at a place called Acton. It was quite a pleasure watching you guys pull out that big one. I was actually on edge towards the end there. Hoping you guys would get it out! Thanks for sharing that. 💎
That's cool of you to leave the pile of agate for the next people to find. And what an awesome find! I've always wanted to get up there to rockhound... it's about an 8 hour drive for us.
Yeah, I figured I'd leave some clues. Otherwise, that vein would be lost. Hopefully someone finds it and digs more out. Ochocos might be worth an 8 drive. It's a fun place to explore. Beautiful country.
Yeah this area is nice because it's a short trip and the material is fun. Short hike from the car to known deposits. Convenient area to take casual rockhunting friends. Easy navigation
Interesting. Another viewer commented on another one from nearby, saying the same. This is only a few miles from the historic gold find in the ochocos near Scissors Creek.
you mentioned putting some in the sale??? where do you post? On another note, I have been pining to go to the Occhi cos for a while now after seen your videos. But this summer I went to the creek bed on my property and don't think anyone has ever hounded the creek before. I am pulling out carnelians at 7 lbs., 4lbs and 3 lbs. Jaspers at 12lbs and smaller. I have pulled out three wagon loads outta there and found a 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood half buried in the bed. I guess the Occhi cos will wait for another year. you found some real beauties!
Not selling anything recently. I used to do ebay back in the day. Maybe one day I'll get back into it. Sounds like you have a great spot! Creek hunting is one of my favorite ways to rock hunt. Something special about those naturally tumbled stones!
@MadelineRose-ep7fj yeah this is typically a float locality. Wasn't expecting to find a seam in host. Thought we at least had a couple picks in the bags but somehow both were left out. Thanks for watching what you could.
@@JoseyWilds are you implying we took over 25 pounds each? Or somehow took out 250 pounds in one day with a screw driver? I show my complete haul at the end of the video. No where close to 25 pounds.
Do you ever sell any of the agates or calcedony that you find? I am a retired Vet and rockhound and I have been teaching myself how to carve and shape semi and precious stones, but I am no longer able to go hiking in the woods, and you have found some very nice pieces.
I just like to go out and find cool stuff. Ultimately, I'd like to have a collection of polished matched halves that showcase the beauty of the Oregon rocks I've found.
a piece of advice for a fellow rockhounder that I heard.... old guy adventures.... when you are finding surface material.... look from where it's coming from...when you do. do a little digging. you'll find better material. top material is degraded
Very nice, rockhounding in the Ochocos is the best, so much beautiful stuff to find and the atmosphere is amazing in the pines.
Ochocos are the first part of Oregon i fell in love with. The ancient hills and towering ponderosas is a vibe!
Good to see you kicking rocks again! Hope you score some awesome finds man!
Thanks! Glad to be back out there. Spent the summer busy with work. Had to make some time for the fun stuff!
Amazing views & weather. I loved watching thanks for the take along,
It was a beautiful day! Glad you enjoyed!! Thanks for watching.
Great to see you two again!! 🎉I dropped everything I was doing and watched it right away! Nice finds 👍
Nice! I appreciate that a lot!! Glad to be back out there searching for rocks. Been a long, busy summer filled with work and not a lot of play

That's a bummer you had to leave your collection! Time to start a new one!!

Oregon is the best for rockhounding...im in southern oregon but travel all over
Oregon rocks! Glad you found the video!
Gorgeous finds and stunning views. Thanks for another awesome vid! Keep em comin, please!!
Thanks so much! Haven't gone out in months, so this was a nice break from work.
I was just wondering if you had a recent video. Good luck on the rocks
Gorgeous agates. The slices show how beautiful they are.
Nice to have you back. Awesome finds!
Glad to see you back out hunting, one day I'll see you out there.
Thanks! I look forward to crossing paths with ya. I have some spots to mark off the map if you ever feel like exploring!

Howdy bro love ur vids. I am a hound too. N. Nevada so. Of carson city. Great rock hounding here. Look great there also.
Thanks, glad you enjoy the videos! That's cool, I'll have to get out to Nevada sometime.
Some of them were a little hard to get out. It took a lot of effort. The result is marvellous. You've found some beautiful pieces.
Thank you very much!
Nice Find! I try to go out into the ochocos 1 to 2 times a week.
Thanks! Wow, you must have some great spots in those hills! Wish I could go that often
Holy crap/ that’s beautiful! Great find!
Thanks!
Awesome finds! I've never searched around there before

Well done gentlemen!!!! Awesome!!!!
Really nice rock
Patience is what you develop. It's really worth it.
Pa was a chicken a farmer and he always said you never know until there's ice on the pond.
So many effing cows. We went through that area rockhounding and camping... so much cow crap, hard to pitch a tent.
Haha yeah that and wild horse poo. Thankfully, my dog only likes horse dung and ignores the cow pies.
Nice adventure guys. Looks like some wonderful pieces were found. BTW, that last piece on the video suspiciously looks like it has AU sulfides in it.

Tooooo difficult to keep watching this with no rock hounding tools!😮😢
@MadelineRose-ep7fj yeah this is typically a float locality. Wasn't expecting to find a seam in host. Thought we at least had a couple picks in the bags but somehow both were left out. Thanks for watching what you could.
25lbs a day 250 lbs a year! Think they did that all in one day,
@@JoseyWilds are you implying we took over 25 pounds each? Or somehow took out 250 pounds in one day with a screw driver? I show my complete haul at the end of the video. No where close to 25 pounds.
Can’t believe nobody hooked a bar over their shoulder
Awesome!!! We haven’t been in that area this year, due to the wildfire smoke. Is it clear of smoke in central Oregon now?
Smoke is intermittent as of last couple of days. It was awful this morning but beautiful now. Hopefully we are through the worst of it.
Did you ever think about a pick and shovel

Maybe in the future. Just having fun for now. I can definitely share some rough with you though!
Used to be some big bull elk in the Ochocos
Oh yeah, I've seen some giants.
@ Bucks too
Very good
Thank you!
I think I would get a eastwing rock hammer and concrete chisel .and eye protection.loose the squirter bottel it's heavy.wash when back to the truck.
that last piece looks like gold bearing quartz
That would be cool!
Wow!
Thanks!
What do ypu do with them

That small nodule kind of looks like a morel mushroom
Don't forget oregon allows rock hounding but ya can only get a few pounds a day and 1 picker out can pack... total 250 pounds a year.
I appreciate the input but that's not accurate at all.

Very true. Especially in the mountains. Want to get below that freeze/thaw line.
Put all mayby day wil look like OPEL KKOOL
Go slow on the weed and you'll remember to bring your hammer.
Gotta bring the rock whistle!
Lol
