About 12 months back I pulled a gun on a road rager who cornered me and it cost me my permit and a Taurus GX4 ( I hope it’s got a seer issue and blows the jerk off cops thing off ). Anyways under self defense I followed every rule abandon I still ended up going to jail despite not doing anything but drawing it and yelling “ Do not force me to defend myself “. The cops lied and lied on the report cause crazy woman tried to use her grandchild ( who I had no idea was in there thanks to tinted windows) as a reason for her conduct. I argued my gun draw was legal seeing as she had a 4,000 plus pound Lexus aimed at my legs. Anyways the cops threw 2 felonies and 4 misdemeanors at me. My lawyer was able to get them to drop the 2 felonies ( as the DA was thinking it wasn’t worth the effort to drag me that far) unfortunately the jerkoff cop wouldn’t let the 4 misdemeanors go ( this ignoring the fact that again she endangered her grandchild, not me ). Anyways I had to plead to an ARD or trial diversion program for 24 months ( lawyer said it should have been 12 but that cop wasn’t going to let anyone take his bone from him). Part of the settlement was 2757 in fines ( which has left me all but bankrupt paying it out. I will be able to purchase my lease truck but I’m going to have to raid my retirement savings to do it). After 11/18/24 I can apply for an expungement of the arrest and can seek to have my permit reissued ( unless they decide to change the system ). That will be another 4 to 8 months for expungement. So spring or summer of 2025 is when I’ll be able to recover my gun collection from my father ( per the plea deal I had to turn the entire collection over to him ). Anyways been looking at the cheaper side of the gun world should I decide I ever want to carry again ( knowing the cocknockers like to take nice guns and keep them for themselves). I’m going to try to adhere to the 400 dollar total package rule. Gun, holster, mags and carry ammo not to exceed 350 to 400 dollars. That’s if I ever decide to carry a gun ever again cause that last brush with the law was embarrassing, expensive, and really demeaning
I have the thunder 380. It's my edc. I paired it with underwood extreme defense ammunition. I have complete faith in it's capabilities.
Good call. With the right ammo this is a quite capable small and lightweight personal carry.
One of my neighbors, who is a police officer, wears the Bersa Thunder on her ankle as her backup weapon. She saw mine at the range and that was it - she bought one right away.
I still have my old thunder 380 and shoot it every now and then . I like the looks of the new one . I'm a big fan of Bersa and still hoping for the BP9CC full size.
I am too. A full-size (or even compact) BP is something I remind Bersa about every time I interact with them, just like a gen 2 Walther P5 needs to happen.
@@GBGuns Their website doesnt exist anymore luckily i was able to get spare recoil spring for my tpr9c back in 2020. The magazine disconnect is the only con on the Thunder 380

I found bersa 12 years ago, when it seemed like no one knew who they were back then. I bought the 380 thunder right away. It fits my my medium strong and aging hands perfectly. The bottom finger guard on the mag seals the deal for me. I'm really excited about the new modern version here. I enjoyed your unboxing video as well.
Besides, it's a modern version of the Walther PPK that James Bond carried. 😂

Hey, thanks for bearing up in the Oregon fire smoke and heat! We can actually SEE how smoky it is there. Nice pistol: not one failure to fire or feed. We can live with an occasional lack of slidelock, which as you said might not be the gun's fault. The secret to using the .380 for self defense is to not expect a one-shot stop, and fire three times!........................elsullo
Wow it definitely looks way cooler than the old version, that rail makes it look very sci-fi. My old one has been very reliable with federal hst but it is a bit snappy.

Graham, thanks for the review. These seem like an affordable alternative to our inner 007, but without the slide-bite.
Also, Bersa BP380CC could be a good comparo, I know the BP9CC has a gem of a trigger.
The triggers on the BP lie are awesome.
I find, with small guns, that a thumbs down grip like I use on a revolver helps improve my accuracy. I shoot small guns a lot (Small frame/J-frame rebolvers, Kahr CT380 & CW9, LC9, P365, etc)
Also, on my Kahr 380s (Cw & CT), I often hit the slide release and cause it to not lock open. It is one of the few guns that my hand reaches the slide release without a grip change (big palms, short fingers)

Direct blowback pistols feature rather an abrupt recoil. Forward finger on a trigger guard didn’t work for me either with a larger gun (Beretta 84F). Had always to restore finger position which is useless.

Nice job, Graham, but I miss watching Teya showing you up on the spinning target. I have confidence that she would have gotten it. Also, how are we to know if the ammo and the gun are any good combo without knowing what it smells like?🤷♂️

I think I prefer the thunder as I carry a Walter ppl often, love the capacity increase. I am here in this for 9mm tho!
My current carry package is Walter ppl .22lr with the mini mags, hornaday, Aguilera, great stopping power for a small package, hk p30 ls My combat pistol is HK P 30Ls, USP, p2000 in a lem wish I'd kept that one lol. Sig p220 carry, 225\229\226, M9 if for. Lot of 1911
Anyway, p30 ls, smith n Wesson equalizer for so many reasons, girsan mc14ct cheetah clone and their Beretta clone, Bersa....girsan and bersa really worth keeping an eye on for those of us on a budget!
Also I totally believe a .22 is fine for carry street defense which is highly unlikely to happen and legs w likely that 11-22 rounds won't stop an attacker
Really seems like the Thunder wins still I will say the da\sa us fantastic

Woulde've been nice to see circles 1-3. Otherwise a good video. I have an older Thunder 380CC and no matter what ammo I shoot I have FF or a stovepipe. Like the gun, but I refuse to carry it because it's not reliable. Besides, I carry a Shield Plus and altrnate with a Glock 19-both very reliable.
Yeah, I had some odd camera issues that day. It interfered with another video you'll see next month.
I have the regular bersa .380 in duotone and like this pistol. Anyone know when this gun came out as I've never seen it before.

It's part of the grips, so if you replace the grip the rail would go too
I might point out that this Bersa is not designed for target practice. It is for close up self defense.
I’d say that Bersa is just too small for your hands. Take care with your asthma; the Canadian smoke we get in PA smells like an electrical fire. 😣
I like the old version and I still prefer it to this new ugly look gun .

01:28 that punch in the hand may come from the fact it’s an aluminum frame instead of a steel one. This is why bersa is so cheap.
Or that it's direct blowback.

Your shooting and target camera are out of sync. You are shooting at target 1 and your camera is showing target 3.

Hand fitment is a thing, unfortunately this one's a bit too small for me to grip well.
@@GBGuns yep. my fingers are short, but my hands are pretty thick, so it would probably not work too well for me either

It's our old camera. It stopped being our primary camera when it started to have issues, but since it still works most of the time we use it as a second camera. This is a self-funded and crowd-funded channel, not a commercial channel; we don't have camera operators.
