Article with full reviews, specs,a nd where to find one: www.gbgunsdepot.com/post/ermox-defense-x-fire I've also learned some things since this video was made. The article has been updated.
I just ordered mine from classic firearms they have it for $299 until Feb 29th 2024 then it goes back to 399
Please stop. I have enough guns 😂Bought my Px9-Gen 3 after watching your review . Best 270 I ever spent lol😊
That PX-9 Gen 3 is a fantastic pistol
How's the trigger
Edit. Been thinking about a Canik because everyone talks highly of the walther style trigger
@@NoNo_IStayGet a Rival and all your other guns will become disappointing
My Staccato is prettier but I’ll take the Rival any day of the week
@ronmartblog
I have a CZ Shadow 2 it's also a very nice-looking pistol, but my Canik Rival Darkside is my favourite.
@@ronmartblogI agree with you. I’m a sig guy and I own different manufacturers too but the Canik rival is my favorite. Aloha
I did some more polishing and put a 4# striker spring in. Amazing difference! One hard-primer reload took a second strike to fire; but 100 rounds of factory ran flawlessly. A better polish and/or a 4.5# spring ought to do it.
Where did you order your striker spring from and what would you recommend 4lb or 4.5lb if that's available ?
Does this use glock recoil springs and glock 19 firing pins?
After having purchased a Canik TP9 and realizing how reliably well made it is, I wouldn't hesitate to also own this gun. While I prefer to buy American made products when I can, I can't afford to. Remembering when I refused to buy a Toyota or Datsun, I reflectively say the times are indeed changing.
I ordered one after seeing the workbench video. I polished the striker shaft; the trigger was pretty horrible out of the box. It smoothed up a good bit; after a few hundred dry fires it is pretty good, though heavy. I think a lighter spring will make a big difference.
I like the way it shoots; accurate and handles recoil very well.
That first shot on the 9 was PERFECT 😁 I would love to see how the trigger breaks in after a few hundred rounds.
I appreciate your fair review and acknowledgement of equipment and shooter error. Just saw these pop up on PSA and found your video. Glad I did.
Thank you, I try to keep it real. Thanks for the tip that these are on PSA now. I've updated the article.
Thanks for this great review, I’ve really been curious about this gun.
You peaked my interest. Ordered 1 today. Another Turkey gun. Love my CANiK's. Good detailed reviews. I had good results with 2 S&W SD9 & SD40 trigger spring kits from M*CARBO. I'll try it on this ErmoX.
Seems like a good pistol . I would buy it !
seems to group well ! That is a lot of gun for the price .. And it never missed a beat , Enjoyed .. 👍👍
put my first 50 rounds 124 grain magtech through the gun with no issues. Great shooter with very tame recoil. Only issue was getting the barrel in and out and needed my rubber mallet for a little assistance popping in and out. Used magpul gl9 mags with no feeding issues.
Thanks for the video nice looking option.
Nice I was looking for a new backup for when I go hunting and fishing I think I found it and It looks better and has more rounds than a sccy and ruger max 9😊
Thank you for the complete and always excellent reviews. First place that came up was your review and then as usual the shooting. Yepper PSA had the worm dangling in My cart for 3 day's. I had to bite. A complete metal G 19 like copy with an expert review. Hopefully From the comments the trigger pull weight is better or I'll change the springs that's recommended.
Thank you. I have learned a bit more about these guns and their future since this video was filmed. That information is in the article (pinned comment).
Cool pistol. I'm picking one up.
Let me know what you think once you get it in
Would definitely be interested in seeing if a change in springs and connector can make this pistol go from good to amazing.
I've heard from multiple people and a youtube video that a good polishing job and a 4.5lb glock striker spring make a night and day difference to the trigger pull
Combatapasability should be a new term. Great job graham. Cant wait for the echelon
Haha. I hate it when I have mouth malfunctions, but I keep it real. The Echelon review has been up for a couple of weeks on our website: www.gbgunsdepot.com/post/springfield-armory-hs-produkt-echelon
Wish I had your shooting skills. Congrats!
Thank you. Lots of training and lots of practice.
Good review and good shooting *son.*
I found mine about a month ago on classic firearms after seeing their range review on it. No complaints best $350 I ever spent 👍👍
Classic has them now for 299
@@anthonyjancek2774 Less now why??
very impressive , the trigger pull can be improved by replacing the disconnector with a 4.5 or 3.5 lb weight .
Now we need a best Glock clone video. I’m leaning towards that Axe Cleaver.
This isn't a Glock clone.
Love it
I like your video, earlier I just ordered one of these
I paid 299$
It would be cool if you could review the GForce gf9 rapture the double stack g26 cloneish..
I'd buy one if I can find one .....I like oddball firearms
I'd like to get one .. shops around me have never heard of them .. they claim they won't be able to get one ...
Good stuff,I’ve seen these on a couple websites now I wouldn’t be sad to pull the trigger on purchasing.the “red” grips are a bit pink for my taste but maybe something can be done about that with a 3D printer.
Yes, anodized aluminum would be much sharper looking too, I swapped to the red just to have something different. I handle A LOT of handguns and so finding ways to differentiate becomes a thing.
@@GBGuns got ya I heard you say that on the table top,it definitely stands out with the red.maybe if this gun gets some traction and is popular we can see some different grip options and maybe a full size frame? I know the micro guns are the trend at the moment but a full metal gun like this is kinda defeating the purpose of being small to my mind I’d like to see a full size 17 style frame.
Interesting. I have only seen these on classic firearms. Any info would be great. Thanks.
@@Jeff-xn1ew I 've posted what I know in the article. I try not to murky up these videos with too much beyond the performance of the firearm.
about 6 years ago I bought a few boxes of Tulammo in 40s&w 180gr fmj, still never fired it ...
A better trigger plus new barrel and compensator to improve shooting skills. I really like this gun for the price is a real deal.
Parts don't improve skills
Classic Firearms has it in stock for 299
Would you prefer this, psa dagger or maybe Arex, know there are quite a few budget guns that fly under the radar.
That depends on what you're looking for. For carry: Arex. For playing: PSA for Range enjoyment: Ermox
Would love to see a review of a Vudoo 1911 or 2011. They're made in Utah and they're very well made
Those are a bit out of our price range.
Watching this You Tube channel, is going to have me broke and divorced 🤣🤣
We give a fair shake to a lot of guns.
I thank you for the video as always. What other info did you find out about the company? I no you said the importer went out of business years ago.
I said I thought they went out of business, that was wrong, I learned a lot more after this video was filmed (a few weeks ago) and updated the article. See the pinned comment.
@@GBGunsthank you. I’ll go check it out for sure. Thanks for your great reviews. I have been watching you for years.
I like the looks of this pistol. It seems to be comfortable to shoot. Only if it had a Magazine Paddle Release, it would be perfect. LOL
Looks like money well spent 👍🇺🇸
Yes, not one of those budget guns you buy and then wish you had spent a little more.
I hope they can introduce a better trigger and maybe a flat face option. Seems like a good competitor for the budget glock mag compatible category. A long term multi thousand round test would be in order.
Unfortunately as an independent journalist (versus paid "influencer") I have neither time nor funds for that. I've got a real job, all the media is what I do when I have free time.
@@GBGuns if Ermox would send me one i would test it on my own dime; I've done that with a PSA Dagger (7500rds) and a Tisas Raider (4k rds so far). I pay for the ammo myself and run about 100rds per weekend so it's not too much at once. Tisas and PSA offer replacement parts so I get to see what fails without having the factory touch it unless it has some issue I cannot resolve as a gunsmith.
The PSA Dagger is toast, it needs to go back for brass to face and weak ejection yet it has all new internals lol.
I have a question for real gun guys.. I bought one of these.. lots of things I like.. #1 being an all metal frame and full-length ralis... that alone caught my attention on a strike fire gun.. it puts me in CZ75 mood.. the trigger I can manage even though it's heavy af.. I can lighten it if I want.. but I have a bigger question.. some of the features to this give me Canik vibes.. especially the fact that it's a Turkish gun.. so can anybody tell me if I can put a Mecanik M01 red dot on this gun? That red dot is designed specifically for the Canik Mete series.. if it fits on this gun.. I would prefer if it had an aftermarket mount plate.. or if I can have my slide milled to let me mount it directly to the frame.. any thoughts?
It seems the trigger is the only real issue on an otherwise very impresssive new pistol. Maybe there could be a follow up video with either a aftermarket trigger components or a trigger job to the factory trigger.
I've heard that they are making rolling changes to improve the trigger and other features.
A polish of the internals and a bit of moly grease would improve the trigger. But i prefer pre set striker fired pistols like Caniks
I put a little moly paste on the connector, firing pin release, and firing pin block, w/ no other modifications. I measured a consistent 6# pull w/ a Wheeler spring type gauge.
After playing around for a bit here is my 2 cents. This gun is overbuilt. This is a question that didn't need answered. How do you over engineer a glock? My only concern is steel screws in aluminum don't over tighten anything. How this gun is this cheap is a mystery. This is a glock that is not a glock, almost all the internals are metal and machined. The trigger housing is aluminum and parts are attached together by screws. The stiff connector is in a plastic cup and has a notch cut into it so its not drop in replaceable, it needs lightened. The trigger spring is longer but like click pen strength, i highly doubt it was assisting, I put a factory 5lb in and that alone improved the trigger. The all metal striker assembly has a spring that is heavy, smaller in diameter, and length, the diameter is smaller but a glock factory spring fits inside the metal cups and seems to be no issue, installed glock factory 5lb. Be wary of the slide lock lever, the spring is not attached to it, It has a small arm that rests on top to apply pressure. It puts the trigger about where advertised by them at 5.5lb, its closer to 5lb to be honest. Incredible gun at an amazing price. get one to modify or keep stock, and for the price it is offered at, buy a few.
If anyone is looking for a holster, a Fobus XDCH works.
Gb. Please look further into this frame. I want to know if glock slides and trigger would fit on this metal frame
I have learned more since this video was filmed. As I understand it Glock barrels and mags fit, but the rest of it is all unique. That doesn't mean that springs can't be changed, just needs some research. The importer also told me that rolling changes are being made and other models will be coming.
@@GBGuns Thank you
The glock 19 barrel can be used in it also.
Yes, we've tested an aftermarket Glock barrel in it
for the price, which one would be better for CCW this one or the arex delta gen 2?
For carry I'd got with the Arex as it's considerably lighter and slimmer, plus has existing holster support. The weight of the Ermox however makes it really nice on the range.
Also Arex is a more proven company
It will run with a g19 gen5 recoil spring ..lol there not the same length but will run
I cannot find the Table Top review video for this one. Have you already released that video?
Neither video has been released yet, but you should have gotten it on Patreon on 18AUG.
@@GBGuns found it, thank you!!!
It's an impressive piece, but not without cautions. The article with deeper thoughts will publish Firday morning.
Do they make it in a more potent caliber?
Word is that is in the works, but if you're looking for a bear gun why look at a compact?
We still never saw any targets with patterns at 7, 12, 15, 20 yards. Is it accurate or not?
The C-zone steel was over 20 yards, the 6" spinner was over 13 yards, paper was 7 yards. It's as accurate as any human can be.
To the best of your knowledge, are there any holsters for this handgun . . . perhaps Glock holsters?
I have not tried any, but as with all guns, if we look outside of kydex there's likely something that will fit, or if you opt for a light-based holster that might fit.
@@GBGuns Thank you for such a prompt reply.
Mine fit perfectly in a PX4 Compact holster.
@@OhioCruffler Thank you!
Is the mag release polymer?
No
@@GBGuns The mag release button is steel, but the mag catch is polymer. The exploded view in the manual calls the release button the "Magazine catch screw". There is a spring that goes over the "screw". The "screw" appears to thread into the "Magazine catch" on the opposite side of the frame.
Lol so they made this gun for $50-100 from the factory before 3 rounds of people got there cut to be $350 street.
Maybe, and let's not forget the cost of getting it to the US!
Now all the attention brings it to 450
Even at that price No Thank You👎.
Good presentation 👍
I can't help but to think of how the Glock Performance Trigger would work in this.
I don't think it will fit. This is not a Glock clone, just uses Glock magazines and barrels.
@@GBGuns I see. I thought it uses Glock internals as well.
No worries, as with anything on the internet, there's some incorrect information floating around out there. I do my best to only say something if I KNOW it to be absolute.
@@GBGuns that's why I'm a subscriber. Thanks for all you do. 👍🏾
I have people tell me two different things about ammo.. so does 115 grain have less or more recoil than a 147 grain??
That really depends on the loads. a 147gr will be a heavier bullet moving slower, a 115gr will be a lighter bullet moving faster, but within each bullet weight total energy can vary wildly from load to load. We tested 23 different 115gr range loads and found energy varied by more than 30% from brand to brand. You can see those results here: www.gbgunsdepot.com/post/the-9mm-range-ammo-guide
Great review, thanks for that! I hope this doesn't become an 'import orphan.'
After filming this I was able to get in contact with the importer and it sounds like there is much more planned and in the works for Ermox.
@@GBGuns Good to know! Thanks for the response.
Thank you very much for this opportunity. Ermox USA is also coming soon.
Edit: 7 yards was done.
This could be very interesting if I can fix the trigger.🧐
For mine the biggest issue is polishing the striker. It has to move a fair bit back before release, and it is very rough. I am going to polish it a bit more and try to put a lighter spring in next.
@@OhioCruffler nice. Have you found any other parts compatibility? Connectors, etc?
Striker spring is identical to the Glock; I haven't checked anything else. A good polish and a spring and it's pretty nice overall. But it was rough as a cob when I go it. Get it mirror smooth and a 4# spring; a world of difference.@@twrol
"Seems to be pretty damn accurate": misses two/three times
I always love doing this to myself. "Ah yes, I am doing so great." The universe "Yee have spoken thus now you must suck"
Yup! For me it's usually when I'm grouping. The first three shots will be great, then I throw the fourth shot and the fifth sort of centers between those. About 300 different handguns grouped I bet that happens 75% of the time.
@@GBGuns My worse talking into existence failure was when I was out shooting with my uncle with one of his super old first Mark .22 pistols. I was like 'Man, why isn't this ever in zombie movies?' as I was plinking all the heads of the targets with what seemed to be the absolute ease. "They should all carry these in zombie movies" Proceed to then miss all 10 shots of the next magazine lol. My uncle was just like 'Ah man, now you're zombie food because you talked into being'
I too have grouping issues when I get over confident. You get those first few rounds right where you want then you relax juuuuust enough to start letting them fling yeah
A-men
Basically a modern Makarov
How do you see that? The action type, construction, trigger, caliber, and capacity are all different.
@@GBGuns aesthetics, sub-compact.
@@toska3528It's no sub-compact, I believe Classic Firearms did a comparison, it's more comparable to a Glock 19 size
4" barrel and 15 rounds is the classic definition of a compact 9mm
@@GBGuns I think it's because of the grip color + dovetail + grip angle that gives me Mak vibes
Never understood why people especially TH-cam firearm reviewers don't use a Ransom bench rest to "TRULY" test "REAL" accuracy without human intervention. If you truly want to test the accuracy of any firearm the proper tools are needed but that's just me~.
Because no one uses a gun that way. That's why I call it, "practical accuracy"
@@GBGuns Understood, but each firearm is unique and in order to truly test the firearm itself if it's accurate or what not, then the proper tool is needed. Sure I totally get your point and it's valid but what's being reviewed or better tested is the firearm itself and not who's behind the firearm. Does it make sense? Brother, your doing great and please don't take my comment as a negative one because I am not referring to you per se, but as an overall statement...
And each barrel is unique plus the ammo variable so really the only accuracy you can trust is your own, but then we each have different eyes and manual skills so the only useful accuracy test is what you can do with your gun and your ammo at your elevation. Once again this is why I call it "practical accuracy". As I've explained a few dozen times that part of the video is really so that I can finalize my impressions of the gun, but so many people asked to see me group that I started filming. A shockingly small percentage of channels will show you groups on paper at realistic distances. Most either use an optic on multiple full-size steel and call it accurate. I opted to at least show you what can be done and measured
👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸☕️☕️💯💯🔫🔫🤟🏻🤟🏻
That's too bad the trigger so heavy I have bad arthritis in my hands so I wouldn't be able to enjoy this gun but everything else about it I seem to think I would like
Dude, you’ve got to get rid of that shit spinner and invest in something else or weld the damn thing 😂
This spinner is perfect for our needs.
Looks like a Flat Shooting gun.
To be fair I've got decent skill shooting handguns, but this one is very pleasant to shoot.
These guys kill me with " The gun is accurate"..Of course it is from the factory ..Accuracy comes down to the shooter..
Yes, and after reviewing hundreds of guns it comes down to how easy is it for the user to be accurate. That speaks tothe meld between shooter and gun, but also to gun design.
Did I miss it or did you not run any pmags? Ya know, one of the two most common mags other than Glock brand.
I did not, I've had so many issues with Glock-pattern PMags that I've stopped including them. MagPul has some good products, just not their magazines.
I have seen other videos that did try PMags. They worked well, but the slide locked back with the last round in the mag. Other mags did also, but I can't remember which ones. Others ran fine. The slide stop lever/slide lock notch relationship might be a little different from on other Glocks or clones. But I found that the lock back lever contact surface on the PMag follower is higher than the mags that came with the Ermox, or an ETS mag I have. If it is important enough to use PMags, you might trim the mag's slide lock contact surface to provide clearance with the last round in the mag. Or else think of it as a reserve setting, as on many older motorcycles; when the slide locks back, you can manually release it and have one last round available while you reload.
