- In this Range Report I take a look at and review one of the most popular and affordable 380s on the market. This is the Bersa Thunder 380. It is a .380 ACP chambered, single stack pistol and that many think is a good quality firearm for the price and is a great entry level option for people just getting into the Second Amendment community. What are my thoughts on this pistol? This video documents my personal thoughts, opinions and experiences with this gun. Yours may vary.

I’ve owned this gun for years. It’s awesome. Zero issues. I have a couple friends that use it as their primary carry. Thank you for the video.
You are very welcome and thank you for watching!
I went to a pawn shop looking for a ppk or Makarov and left with one of these thinking it probably wasn't going to get used. I love this gun so much that I carry it now. Very accurate, reliable, and just feels good in the hand
I am glad you found one you enjoy so much!
I bought one used years ago. I removed the mag disconnect and carried it and shot it quite a bit. Never had an issue. I had my fun with it and sold it for about what I paid for it. I would buy one again if the price was right. Nothing bad to say about it.
That is about my takeaway too.
I have to do the mag disconnect override thing with mine, not a fan. On my list to change my Berreta PX4 from an F to a G.
Awesome video! Love that you're very matter of fact, to the point and communicate clearly.
I appreciate that! I know my style is not flashy and loved by everyone, but that is ok.
@@thetexasgunvault Nah I love your style. Honestly, it felt like I was watching something on the Discovery channel or something. Awesome delivery, and I love the way you keep us engaged, without just a bunch of rambling like some other TH-camrs. Fellow Texan here too!
I use and carry this every day and love it.
I am glad it works so well for you!
i actually love my bersa, it fits my hand perfectly, not a huge handgun , nor is it a Clock, but i happen to like it, thanks for giving it a review.
You are very welcome and thank you for watching!
I own a Bersa Combat Plus with 15 rounds. Great price and would call this a modern day, "Kit gun", whether it is a bug out kit or a get home kit. I had multiple people shoot this gun, and everybody who understood how an auto-pistol worked had no problem shooting it well. I did have some stovepipe jams and last shot slide back issues with one person. After some coaching on how to handle a small blow-back pistol, they ran 4 mag-dumps with excellent accurately.
I like your take on this pistol and I agree.
I have one and it has been 100% reliable and accurate. I think Bersa is a hidden gem. Some people buy these guns and take them apart to clean them and when putting back together they put the return spring on Backwards. The smallest diameter of the spring goes over the barrel first.
Good information. Thank you for sharing.
Hello really appreciate your channel really love my bersa 380. I have also had some results of it being very accurate less recoil and more durable.
Thank you so much!
We like our Bersa, it has been reliable...the only complaint is the single action trigger, on our gun it is extremely light (ferociously light)...for a short period we carried the gun, fmj loaded (.380 hp ammo problematic, even today)...it sees the range a few times a year, where it just runs and runs...the primary reason we don't carry the gun these days is the size and weight, as seniors we've gone very tiny, but we'll keep the gun...good little gun...
That is all that matters and I am glad it is working well for you!
I own several variants of the Bersa 380 and find them to be very reliable and accurate. One note, most reviewers compare the Bersa to a PPK, but in reality it is a very close copy of the CZ82/83 series of pistols.
I think you are right. I will remember that for future reference. Thank you so much!
The cz and Makarov were designed after the ppk
The Bersa Thunder went into production in 1995 and the CZ82 was in production from 1982 to approximately 1993. Hench the Thunder jumped on the discontinued CZ design with much success.
Excellent video. I've owned one for 5 years. Very reliable and accurate, only complaint is the slide safety; I have to make sure my thumb doesn't ride high, otherwise safety grabs it and turns on while shooting.
Thank you so much and I am glad you enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed your video and appreciate the in-depth analysis.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Good morning, Jason, we were once allowed to have these small compact pistols. But now they are banned, but if I was allowed, I would have two as you have two hands, plus 5 magazines for each, Plus a crate of ammo. As you know the rabbits are getting really bad, Cheers.
I wish you could own them there Andrew.
I’ve put 400 rounds through mine and not a single issue. (4 different brands). As far as accuracy , it’s an up close piece keep that in mind. Love mine
Fair point
one of my first 3-5 handguns i had was a bersa 383, the forerunner to the thunder. i have had a thunder since. both worked great. i may get another bersa some day, probably the thunder plus.
I am glad to hear they have worked so well for you.
Perfect awesome gun review. I collect high end guns. But there was a time in my life when I was a kid and I was poor and I was looking at these guns and out of curiosity. I always wondered.
It was actually pretty good! It surprised me.
I've found myself clicking on a bigger image/ tech specs on certain cerakote versions of this .380 Bersa in the past. It certainly has a cool factor to it.
I agree. I am glad they offer it in so many colors.
Thanks for including the "bloopers". 😅.As always, love your content.
My pleasure! I don't always have them. But you know a video was hard to film when there are a few. I do everything unscripted so I can get a few funny ones.
I have the same 380 and I havent had any problems with it. And if you use RIP or interceptor rounds it is very effective.
Good information! Thank you!
The one you have on loan works a hell of a lot better than mine ever has. It kills me because the thing is very accurate, feels good in hand, weighs well, but no matter the mag I use, it's "iffy."
That is what many are saying.
The only issue I had with mine were magazine related. I bought the Bersa branded mags and never had an issue after that.
I am glad to hear you got it running well!
Yeah the promags suck. I have several bersa 9 rounders for mine with no issues
I always wanted the Bersa BP380 ...
Those look nice too.
I've only heard very good results about the Bersa Thunder 380 ...
This one really surprised me.
The thunder is a fun little gun to shoot.... don't like the 8 round mag.... other than that no complaints
Great review, thank you!!! I'm looking for a 380 for a back-up pistol and also for my wife and 3 daughters to have something to shoot at the range besides shooting 22's all of the time. They're not big fans of shooting 9MM or any of my 38 special revolvers so this might be a great range gun for them. I'll probably go with the Thunder Plus that has 15 round capacity and it looks to be only about $50 more than the standard Bersa Thunder.
I am glad you enjoyed it and found it useful.
Maybe it's inaccurate because he keeps it in the safe and never lubes or shoots it. It's so low profile and easy to carry and it shoots fine at the range you'd likely use it.
Well, it worked well for me. Not every gun is a fit for everyone.
I want to see your channel.Grow to a minimum of a quarter million viewers
Thank you. I am happy with just doing what I am doing. What will happen will happen.
I had the 380 plus for a while. Sold it when I got the ppk/s.
i think there is a similar double stack model
I bet that one would be nice too.
I’m surprised…mine has been reliable, I like the ergonomics of it, but it is super uncomfortable to shoot! Beats my palm to death.
Very interesting. I thought this one would be more uncomfortable than it actually was.
Come on, Jason lol --- budget-friendly .... OMG
LOL, what would you call it?
It's A.
Neat gun.it will go Bang. But what will happen if you put a 1000 rounds through it, ??? then the problems will start to show up.Correct me if i'm wrong?????😅😅😅😅 Will some ammo company? Please sponsor this guy so he can do proper gun reviews or one of you.Cheap ass gun manufacturers sponsor him !!!!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 We know the Gun review. is expensive and to do a gun reviews. Expensive time, material and money is needed. Let's hope you get sponsored quick.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Well, I also want to always be honest. If I am sponsored too much I worry that people would not think my reviews were unbiased.
Tell your neighbor that he's right, hand him $50, saying you'll reluctantly take this POS off his hands. Then, say watch the video. Lol😅
LOL, nah, I am an honest and good guy.
Do a review.
On the Jennings, 22. Now, that's a bad God. After about a box or 2 of 22's it will break, it will go Bang, but it won't feed.... Call it your cheap gun review 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
I did one once, but lost it with my older channel. I will reach out to the person who lent it to my channel and see if I can do it again.
