Rosanna Arquette has been the inspiration for Toto’s song “Rosana” and Peter Gabriel’s great song “In Your Eyes”, which was made while they were dating. In addition, the song was used in the iconic scene from the classic movie Say Anything starring John Cusack holding the infamous boombox.

“Africa” has to be next off this monster album! Video is a nod to the great fight scene from the 1961 movie musical “West Side Story” (Jets vs. Sharks) with some dirty dancing star appearances (Cynthia Rhodes & Patrick Swayze) years before the release of “Dirty Dancing”

You have said when it comes to Rock Music/Classic Rock you have no idea where the journey will take you, no knowledge of the groups or songs. Many of us think that is why we appreciate what you’re doing. You walk through like a forest full of many trees with no idea where you’re going. Those of us who leave “Bread Crumbs” for you to pick up along the way enjoy watching those tunes get the reaction we were hoping for/KNEW was coming. First for you is the Mystery of who it is, then it becomes the Intrigue of knowing the group and hearing more from them. All those bread crumbs are adding up to the finest collection of Reaction videos and names in your Playlist that is by far the Best On YT. Thanks again for all your efforts creating such excellent content. I copy all your videos into your own “JMBOY TV” Folder. Pat yourself on the back for me…. Great Job

Distinctive and Legendary is Jeff Porcaro's half time shuffle, referred to as "The Rosanna Shuffle." #2 in 1982, and Grammy's 1983 Record of the Year. Appearing in the video are Dancer/Actress Cynthia Rhodes and if you look close enough, you might even see the late Patrick Swayze. :)

Thank you Lord for Bernard Purdie! I saw an interview where he stated the shuffle he created was a combination of Bonham's FITR and Purdie shuffle...

The guy doing the guitar solos name is Steve Lukather. He's an absolute beast. He's a session player that plays on so many artists albums it's hard to count.

Drummer JEFF PORCARO he's gone in 1992 at just 38 years old.
He too has become a real world reference for all drummers.

Boz Scaggs Explains How He Became The Father Of Toto. Boz Scaggs’ 5 million seller ‘Silk Degrees’ was the first time members of Toto got together.
Boz selected L.A. session musicians David Hungate, Jeff Porcaro and David Paich to play on his 1975 ‘Silk Degrees’ album. Hungate incited Steve Lukather and Steve Porcaro to join the sessions and that nucleus of Boz Scaggs backing band went on to become Toto. Boz Scaggs agrees he is the father of Toto. “I think I was to some degree,” “They had been friends and played as young men and boys in high school. They were making their way in the L.A. sessions scene as young prodigies. They were known as excellent players. By recording with me and having the success that we had on that album and then touring with me, I think that it really solidified them. It gave them a clear path to what was to follow, recording as Toto. I remain friends with them. I think it was a beginning for us all in a certain way”...... I have seen both and both in the same show... One word... Incredible.

The guitar player is Steve Lukather. One of the best studio players in L. A. He along with other members of what would become Toto were legendary producer Quincy Jones go to guys. Steve plays all the guitar on Michael Jacksons Thriller album except for the solo in Beat It. That was another legend known as Eddie Van Halen. R. I. P. Eddie.

Quincy recalls a conversation he overheard at the "Beat It" sessions between Steve and Eddie. Steve asked Eddie "How does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world?'" to which Eddie replied "You tell me." R.I.P. Eddie

The guitarist is Steve Lukather, and he's a great vocalist as well. He's primary vocalist on the song "Georgy Porgy," which sounds dumb, but it's really good; especially in a live video from 1991, that sounds better than studio. Thanks for you reaction.

I can't think of a bad Toto song, but I'm biased. This tune was supposed to end at the 4:55 point and they improvised from there on. when they finished, the band looked into the control room and asked, did you get that?

The nerdy looking keyboardist with the glasses Steve , one of the 3 Porcaro brothers in the band, was dating super hot actress Rosanna Arquette. The other keyboardist, David Paich, used her name for the song.

No, David Paich said he only used the name"Rosanna" because it fit. The song is actually about girls that he had known when he was younger.

The guitarist is Steve Lukather. One of the best session musicians ever. He has played on so many records, besides Toto. Not to mention his solo record…which has has out right now called Bridges. He played guitar and bass on Beat It by Michael Jackson. Eddie Van Halen played the solo, but Steve played the rest. His discography is unbelievable! Check out more Toto music…fantastic musicians…all of them.

It was originally “Guitar For The Practicing Musician” and it was more theory and technique oriented instead of gear/fanboy oriented. But the fanboys drove sales, and they had to change formats to match the other mags that were fanboy oriented to keep up with ad revenue and stay in print, because that’s how media works.

Jeff Porcaro's half time shuffle, he states in his video tutorial session, "stole" from John Bonham's Fool In the Rain & Bernard Purdie's (Purdie Shuffle fame) Babylon Sisters . John Bonham was inspired by the likes of Tony Williams, who proceeded him, and millions of drummers were inspired by John Bonham. That's how music has always worked with the baton passed on .....

The Human Brain must first hear "Feel" the music/notes and then the Human Hands need to know where to find those notes/cords/melodies on the 6 strings-21 frets....or the 88 keys, Sax pads and keep that awesome rhythms/beat going... amazing ain't it.
