- We wind up our $169 turbo and push our 1.8L wrecker engine to the limit as we see just how fast Yaris Hilton can go. Will we be victorious, or will we push it over the edge (and have to push it back home?)

They said more or less if they were going to do paid content it would be another show in a different format, but they would still make MCM. I totally agree. Reminds me of the old days when we all used to buy little old turds and try polish them up on shoestring budgets. I think they have really come a long, long way though. I can even say that i enjoy watching this series over some of those real productions like top gear etc.

I have an 03 Camry 3L V6 I could donate for said conversion. Recently nailed a bear at 60MPH front left. Car is totaled, but engine/trans are still good.

Have you not seen the video when the song first came out? It's the weirdest shit they have ever done, probably. Absolutely insane to do. There is a clip of it during the song on this video, but the video they did before was bananas.

This has been my favorite series in a while, so reminiscent of og mighty car mods. So much fun. While the bigger more legit builds are cool too, it always feels like the cheap nuggets are what we love best about mcm

Hey we would like to see the damage to the engine and I think you should continue to fix it up.
Some better rods or whatever in needs would be interesting.
Just make it strong enough to take the boost and power it makes now. Keep it as the car other TH-camrs that visit have to set a time on around the same track. Shame for those that can't break a minute.
Piston slap.
It either crused the bearing which is making the piston hit the head or cracked a piston.
Yeah it should really be fixed for educational purposes. Then stop the improvements and raffle it off for charity. That's what I'd like to see.
Would love to see that too. A 2ZR should be able to handle forced induction - fairly easily the 200whp they put down on the dyno. Something went wrong. Maybe a tired motor. They had no gauges to monitor AFR, boost or oil pressure. Maybe the turbo CHRA failed from compressor surge not having a BOV. Anyway it's of particular interest to me as I did this swap and turbo to my Yaris RS. Here it is, if interested:

Yeah, give it a break for a while, then build a robust short block that will survive the boost. Put a little reinforcing loop around the opening for the intercooler, and attachment tabs for the number plate. Buff the paint a bit, and get someone who does PDR to take out the ding. Make it the car guest TH-camrs have to set a time with around the same track.

I LOVE how out of date Martins memes are. Absolute legend. Also you guys need to get into the habit of "flying laps"... Do your warm up then rip that second lap, no pause at the start line. That time is a far more realistic and fair time as the car isn't the only thing that needs to warm up... The driver does too!

sounded like a broken piston rod to me. Didn't see any oil on the track so it probably didn't break throught the block but still sounds pretty fuc*ed. :D
could also be a burned valve but idk whats worse
Yeah sounds like a big end bearing failure to me... and that sound is the top of the piston hitting the cylinder head... had it on many an engine... that’s why it still runs, but won’t run correctly as it’s only running on 3 or maybe 2

probably spun bearing from the sound. it's not just down one cylinder, it's down one cylinder AND being squeezed to a stop by all the friction
I reckon the timing belt has slipped a tooth -resulting in the valves just touching the piston. Not enough to detonate the engine but enough to f*ck the valves.

@@alxace I think that was Season 2. Season 1 that included caliper painting and proper car washing came out in 2008. So it's been 12 years... Where did the time go?! These guys have done an absolutely marvelous job though by putting out videos and constantly improving. I'm glad Marty, Moog, and the gang didn't give up on this channel!! New MCM and Skidfactory videos make my day! I'm still trying to catch up with Benny's channel lol
