Haymitch is actually smart. He’s just drunk all the time because he is mentally scared from the hunger games. He is detached because he doesn’t want to know a group of kids who will most likely end up dead. When he finally has a chance to be sober he realizes that if he wants them to live then he has to help them. Wouldn’t you be similar. Just take a second to think about it.
They were all over the arena. The game makers filled the place with tons of things that could kill the tributes in case they didn’t kill each other as expected. I know Rue mentioned the nests being plentiful in the book, but if they cut that line from the screenplay, then yes, it would come across as a cop out.
I’m only 1 minute in and the first ‘point’ doesn’t make sense, the capitol treats the districts like that as punishment and reminder of the rebellion 🙄
Yeah but it makes no sense. It's like me making you make me food but taking away the kitchen. It "punishes" you, but it makes it so I don't get my food as fast. Both suffer, it also made no sense when they bombed all of 12. Like don't they need that coal for energy?
@@mumudu04 let's say you put someone in jail. Will you care for them? You would act as if they are nothing. Just someone who has to do his work. Nothing else
@@mumudu04 and that was a mistake from the Capitol. They thought that as long as you give them hope, no one will revolt. Also if district 13 did get annihilated, then we wouldn't have any kind of rebellion. The Capitol was nonchalant and that ruined everything for them.
One mistake: The last statement about everyone in district 12 being too poor to afford cakes. District 12 had a middle class community in the town. Those people didn't work in the mine.
Well, if they set fire to the tree: 1. It would give away their location to other tributes because of the smoke 2. It would kind of set fire to the whole forest...
PonyMadGamer, no tributes would be stupid enough to fight the Careers. The Careers are the most trained tributes out there. Crossing the Careers is basically a death wish. Also, other tributes may not know if the fire is a trap.
okay the cake wars thing got me so mad Peeta lived in the richer part of district 12 which mainly had business's (like the bakery) and they wouldnt have bought a danm cake they would of made it
no not really its fun to fantasies the fantasy conspiracy theory's of the movie or how the book and the movie are different its just fun and positive even if its negative (confusing sorry I'm tired )
Many people defend the movies with the books as they do with harry potter, (not with lord of the rings though) . . . A movie should stand on its own as it's a completely different medium and should be confined to that specific world :)
You shouldn't have to read a book to be able to enjoy the movie the book will usually expend more of the information then the movie yes but the movie should be able to stand alone
Benjamin Tarrant 1) not all of district 12 is in poverty there is a middle and high class. Also if that were to make sense then why doesn’t the poor population of our world just go to war with their govt see it’s unlikely to happen on its own. 2) if u light a fire in a forest u will be giving away your position cause smoke. The boy from district 4 died this way
Things that the movies didn't add from the book but would've made the movies so much better: 1. The prep team 2. Peeta's amputated leg 3. Madge. Just fricken Madge. 4. Peeta's curly hair. 5: That scene with Finnick where he rips off his hospital gown just for a joke. 6: THE AVOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not EVERYONE in District Twelve is starving and on the brink of death, those in The Seam are the ones who are very poor. There are some in District Twelve who have enough money to live comfortably without any thought (Madge for example)
@@Сайтамен idk, ask Nazis, Napoleon and I don't who else tried to attack Russia in winter, oh, this one about a King throwing spears and shooting arrows to the sea to fight Poseidon, real human history has trully dumb fights
The comment about the cake is absolutely dumb. If a baker can paint in camouflage it means he is skillful and visually creative, not because he is a pastry chef.
ELYC ok that bugged me too. like yes that does make sense because it's not learning to camouflage it's learning to be an artist and when you're an artist it makes it easier to paint camouflage...
He had a strong natural talent for visual arts, it showed up in his cake-decorating, his painting, and his camouflage creation. Plus, he was able to get lessons from experts in camouflage as part of his training, as was mentioned in the book and shown in the film.
for the "why don't they just set fire to the tree part": because the trees aren't dead which means that they contain water which means that they won't burn or because the trees aren't in a real forest, they are in an arena that is completely controlable so if you would set them on fire you might get like electrified or because if you would burn down one tree you would probably set the entire arena on fire (also sorry for my bad grammar but I am dutch)
I'd like to provide an argument for how he said that the tracker jacker nest "happened" to be there. I think that the game makers placed that there bc early before that scene, when katniss was caught in the fire. The game makers placed a tree randomly to fall in front of katniss by the order of senaca crane(sorry if I spelled his name wrong lol) so what stops them from doing the same with the nest? They probably placed it there to spice things up with just I push of a button
J Zeis Also, I do believe that the careers would have wanted to kill her with their own hands. They hated Katniss, because she was the 'one to beat', as she got a higher training score. The careers were determined to finish her off, themselves.
Do you people not understand that trees are full of water and don't just burn because you put fire next to them? The wood that *burns* is wood that has been dried already. Does no one around here understand how plants work???
Of course Haymitch is more wise because he has to work harder to get his tributes to win, all the other districts (especially the career ones) have more victors so they believe they can win again easily
I think the reason why Haymitch is wiser than the other victors is that he was In a quarter quell and the quell had 48 tributes which means there were 47 dead children instead of 23
Well the first point made was why does the Capitol supply such bad living conditions to the districts. This is stupid because everyone who has read the books or even knows a little about the hunger games story knows that the Capitol is all about punishing the districts for trying to rebel against them. This is the exact reason for the games in the first place. Why would they give the workers nice conditions?
@@aidey8mph605It is a slave based society similar to the CCP. I would argue in that regard it is more Anti-Chinese maybe. Then it has elements of Nazism with how they treat the nation and the Hunger Games and treat Snow almost like a Hitler type figure.
I hate this because if you read the book most of these things are answered/dealt with, or you know actually listened to what they said at some points in the movie
It would take way too long to have every detail of The Hunger Games books in one movie, it would definitely make the movie around 4+ hours long, and I don't know about you, but I'm not going to watch a 4 hour long movie of explanations
for the fire one, Cato earlier in the movie talked about how dumb it was to light a fire during the night because of the smoke. Imagine a whole tree, they would have been instantly found and killed
Technically, Haymitch IS the smartest of them all, taking that he survived the most impossible odds as a tribute. His quarter quell, the second one, was against 47 others, instead of the regular 23, and he won using his brain. So, yeah, makes sense. Also, Peeta didn't get the entire camouflage gig souly by decorating cakes. I believe it is mentioned more than once that he's also a painter.
Some people are just born with the talent of art. Decorating cakes neatly was kind of like practicing. Also the cakes are for the richer side of Pahnem
Yeah, I'd recommend actually reading the book before jumping to such conclusions about Peeta's cakes. In the original book, it is implied that he was always a skilled artist, and it was stated that some people in District 12, such as his family and the Peacekeepers have enough money to afford cheap, low quality cakes and other baked goods.
DerAlmighty If a statement defending the *movie* starts with “Well if you read the book” or “I’d recommend reading the book before saying such and such” then the movie did a poor job, which is what they are criticizing.
Stereotypical TH-cam Commentator #503 I watched the movie before I read the books and completely understood everything. Of course the books went into much more detail about it, but the movie did a good job. The person who came up with these ideas, most likely wasn't paying attention to anything in the movie at all. They can all be easily explained with the movie and a more in depth explanation when reading the books.
Ciara Furlong Well than I guess it was the video’s fault. As you can tell I’m not a fan but when someone defends a movie by referencing the book it’s based on as it’s only defense it doesn’t really make sense.
Stereotypical TH-cam Commentator #503 True. I think this video is absolutely pointless because there are many people in the comments who gave an explanation for each and every one of these statements. There was nothing brought up in the comments that wasn't in the movie, apart from Peeta being a painter but I think a baker is understandable enough.
1. They didn't really need coal that much, and probably wanted to slowly get rid of district 12. Besides, if the Capitol shared their resources with the districts fairly, they wouldn't be able to sustain a high quality of life for themselves. If they gave the districts a bit of freedom and supplies, it would still not be enough for the citzens of the districts to live a relatively wealthy life, but they would become powerful enough to start a successful uprising. 2. They were only a "bunch of evil jerks" for the citzens of the districts, and needed to do that to keep them in line. 3. Haymitch was drunk when he first talked to Katniss and Peeta, which is why he didn't really control himself/care. On the next day, he was sober, which allowed him to realise that the tributes weren't as hopeless as usual. 4. It is never stated that the other tributes were told to go to the cornucopia. They were probably advised to run away, but, like most teenagers, they thought they were smarter than their mentors and went to the cornucopia in hopes that they would be powerful enough to take on the other tributes, get supplies and escape. Besides, most of the tributes were terrible at survival. I doubt if they would be able to get food, shelter and weapons from the arena, so the only other option was risking your life in a bloodbath to avoid a certain, slow death from starvation, dehydration, or getting killed by an armed career or wild animal. That's why a vast majority of the tributes went to the cornucopia and we know what happened next. 5. We don't know for sure if the other mentors completely ignored their tributes. Maybe they gave them amazing advice, but the competitors didn't listen to them, like many teenagers? Or the victors actually went to the cornucopia? We'll never know. 6. Peeta was on Katniss's side all along. He probably noticed the Tracker Jackers' nest, and, in hopes that she would spot it too, he tricked the careers into camping below the tree. Sure, he could have died when the nest was dropped, but he didn't really care. At that point of the games, only one tribute was allowed to win, and Peeta wanted that tribute to be Katniss. 7. They didn't set fire to the tree, because the fire could easily get out of control and because of their wounds, they wouldn't have been fast enough to escape another wildfire without severe burns. 8. Peeta was a very good painter. He just used his talent in different ways. In the districts, he decorated cakes. In the arena, he created amazing camouflage. When he got back home, he started painting normal pictures. You can see a painting of Rue he created in "catching fire". It's not just "decorating cakes". And even if you insist on the fact that he learned how to paint by decorating cakes, it is still pretty legit, because that way, he could have learned how to choose colors, nice-looking textures and matching patterns. 9. District 12 is NOT entirely made up of starving coal miners. There were also merchants in the richer parts of District 12, who could afford to buy some cake from time to time. Besides, don't "starving coal miners" have birthdays, weddings, anniversaries too? Even the poorest people celebrate different things from time to time.
Thank--you! It bothered me how the things they pointed out in the movies as "dumb" were actually explained in the movies themselves. Also, to add on to the careers & fire point, the careers are also more bloodthirsty and enjoy killing the tributes to be champions and I'm sure simply trying to "burn down the tree" wouldn't have sufficed enough for the death of Katniss.
"considering they need the workers in the district to keep working, wouldn't it make more sense to feed them" this isn't suspension of disbelief this is literally our society lmao
That is the Holdemort being referenced probably. When Stalin worked Ukrainians to death to feed the entire USSR since they had the most grain. He starved millions of Ukrainians.
No, there was a small middle class and more well off group in district 12, which Peeta was part of. By no means were they rich, but they could reasonably afford a cake once in a while
The cakes were for the richer side of district 12’s weddings or birthdays or other special events. Why in hell would the capitol buy a cake from district 12? That’s not what they make for the capitol, they mine coal.
For the first one: Of course it doesn't make sense, it's a dystopian society. Collins wrote it to showcase a girl dealing with corrupt politics and show flaws in out own societies, and that's the genius of it.
esma_s_nails yeah and i believe with all the technology the capitol has surely they arent relying completely on the districts and have other resources but the poor living conditions are just to keep another rebellion from happening
Idiocracy? We live that life already. Our military industrial complex. Also, we have people complaining over wages in our country. Some saying that people don't deserve a livable wage, while at the same time we glorify things in pop culture like Kim Kardashian and other absurd pointless tropes. Drinking Games? His drinking was kind of like that in the book and wasn't the only time his alcohol addiction was mentioned. Coaching Fail? It potentially wasn't passed along because some of the other victors won their games due to hiding or other innocuous reasons. Districts 1 and 2 were careers, so they're gonna go for the big sprint. There's a big explanation of this in the book. Katniss debated whether or not she should run to the cornocopia, which is why Peeta was shaking his head at her during the countdown, to which Katniss became angry at Peeta for throwing her off her game (thinking). If Katniss was gonna disobey Haymitch's suggestion, what makes you think others followed their mentor's suggestions? Burn, baby, burn? In the book, how that entire scene was completely different, however, this will be summed up to artistic licensing in that, there's a good reason to do such a thing, but the story would be over pretty quickly if they did that. Cake wars? The movie in its infinite wisdom doesn't fully explain this, but there's a logical reason as to why he can do this and a greater explanation of the bakery, but that's small potatoes when talking about a "cream" that can heal wounds and lacerations within a few hours of application. Whole lot of complaining but not critical thinking. Seems like those who hated the franchise, whom are in their own right to dislike something, but to such the extent as some in the comments, it seems like you hate the series because it's "cool" to hate something popular.
I completely agree! The reason the Hunger Games resonated with so many people is it's the culture we're living today! Even worse with the evil Republikkkans in power and Snow, I mean Trump, at the helm!
Brownell Landrum I’m not a big fan of trump, not by any means, but the hunger games depicts a similar society to Our’s in some ways but not the same governance. People are quick to compare trump to the evil bad guy in power, like a dictator, when in reality he is an idiot who got elected. Trump isn’t evil, he’s stupid, but has also benefited the U.S in his short time in office. The government in our world is far from that of the hunger games because we have things like democracy and free speech. The Hunger Games as a symbol of society as a whole is more accurate.
2:02 maybe they did. In the movies everyone ran to the middle besides peeta and Katniss but in the books a lot of kids made it to the woods first. Plus, the cornucopia is very tempting, and maybe many tributes ignored what their mentor told them. Katniss almost ignored haymitch, and only didn’t go for the bow because peeta distracted her.
These were just dumb comments. Like Peeta and painting thing, it could 100% be possible that he was just gifted and that decorating the cakes was a medium to get better
No...no its not. Go watch a tutorial on movie tv make up and see all the products they use ranging from clay to casting poly. Yes he is an 'artist' however he has only dealt with baking dyes and stacking cream with cream. When he needed to add depth he could simply add more buttercream but when doing camo like he was doing that's not really possible. Plus baking dyes and camo dyes are completely different. Try going from water paints to oil paints and youll notice the difference. The idea that if you are a good cake decorator means you are a great painter is idiotic. If we went by that logic you can go to your local baker and ask for a tattoo.
But it IS a stupid explanation. Both for the unlikeliness of having need for elaborate cakes when people can't afford bread AND the necessary techniques. A cake is not a person, decorating does not equal camouflage and glazing isn't mud. Why not go with the gifted painter thing? Or turn the "cake decorating" explanation into a wry joke. I love Hunger Games, but this issue felt a little jarring to me when I read the books and I hoped they'd just drop/change it for the movie adaptation.
Josh Byrd if you actually read the books, you’d know peeta is amazing at painting making him good at camouflage and it just made him better at doing the cakes.
For the idiocracy section, the fact that the Capitol doesn’t feed or care for the districts is just meant to reflect how self-centred and how cruel they are. I mean, why would they pay (probably in tax form) for the people that they watch each year killing each other?
@Benjamin Tarrant Almost all the districts hate the capitol, giving them stable economies and high-tech machines would just give them an opportunity to overthrow the Capitol.
Benjamin Tarrant well yes...but that’s hardly the point. That’s not the nature of the Capitol. Remember that The Hunger Games series is set in a dystopian society, not modern day.
I'm no longer sure if your a good person to evaluate movies. the fact that Haymitch goes from being a useless mentor to being a some what helpful one is a big part of his character/personality 😁and him saying to stay away from the cornucopia is his individual opinion. some people think it's dumb not to go 4 it, as your left with no weapons to fight with if needed, as well as no basic survival support. many of the people who did go 4 the cornucopia did very well and killed of the people who didn't go 4 it as they little to defend themselves elf with. Furthermore almost all the people went 4 the cornucopia in the second movie, and they were literally the people who knew how to play the game the best as they had one b4
Sam Wells the only tributes that made out well from going to the cornucopia were the careers. Most others were killed. I think of it being that the other mentors went to the cornucopia in the games that they had won, so they assumed it as the best strategy. Also, the only reason that Katniss went for the cornucopia was that she knew how to swim and assumed that a lot of the other tributes didn’t.
I'd presume the technology the Capitol uses isn't geared toward productivity and efficiency for mining. They did use their technology for the dam in distinct 5, the nuclear research in 13, and machines in district 1. I think the tech was developed to increase quality of life and luxury for Capitol citizens.
xx_RWBY_xx IKR If he is going to do a video on a movie he should read the books because he seems like an idiot not knowing any of this stuff about the movie
*Okay! I'm gonna explain the things that don't make sense and say why they do make sense!* For number one, the reason they don't give districts anything to help them do their is because of punishment. It's all punishment for their uprising. If the Capitol gave the districts things to help them they would never so called "learn their lesson" 2. He was still drunk! Oh my lord, a regular man does not talk or look like that. In the books, Katniss and Peeta make a deal with him saying that he won't drink as much as long as they do everything that he tells them to do. 3. The mentors give the same advice but most don't follow it because it is so tempting. Katniss doesn't follow the advice either. 4. Careers are stupid. 5. Can't he have a talent in painting and also decorate the cakes? He didn't pick up the skills from the cakes, he could have just had the skills in general. Just because he says "I used to decorate the cakes down at the bakery" DOESN'T FUCKING MEAN HE PICKED UP THE SKILLS FROM DECORATING THE CAKES. DOES HE SAY THAT? NO! HE DOESN'T! *GEEZ, IT'S IN THE BOOKS GUYS!!!*
for you first point I disagree because the younger ones never went through that, never deserved this lifelong punishment But now after saying that it's the capital they are bad people
Joshua Skunk For the first one, that’s literally the reason. Oppression isn’t logical. The capitol oppressed the districts to keep themselves in power to live a lavish lifestyle and as penance for the sins of the districts of the past. Does it need to be logical? No. Dictatorships usually aren’t.
Many people defend the movies with the books as they do with harry potter, (not with lord of the rings though) . . . A movie should stand on its own as it's a completely different medium and should be confined to that specific world, in which enough information is gleaned to make a coherent story.
1: Of course they wouldn't give the districts extra. I'm not sure about before the Dark Days, but we know that the more rebellious districts were punished severely for their part in the uprising. It's why District 3 was one of the poorer districts, despite being surrounded by Career districts. The reason why quality of life was so bad for the districts was because the Capitol wanted them to lose their morale and feel completely hopeless, effectively crushing them into submission. 2: Haymitch was a drunken mess because he didn't like seeing his tributes die over and over. When he saw what Katniss and Peeta could do (the exchange on the train where they're trying to make each other look better and we learn that Peeta should throw bags of flour at the other tributes) he decided they were actually worth helping. So he sobered up and actually mentored them. 3: The other mentors, especially from the lower districts, probably told their tributes not to go in to fight. But, as with Katniss, they were likely tempted by the enormous bounty at the Cornucopia. I'm sure most people would be, too. 4: If they set fire to the tree, that would have started a forest fire, effectively killing them all. Simple. Besides, there's less entertainment value in killing someone with fire than drawing out their death and watching them bleed out, which is what the Careers were trained to do. 5: Peeta had an incredibly good eye for colour and texture. I was a little skeptical of this at first, but if you know what a particular object looks like and you have the right supplies it's quite easy to transfer cake-decorating skills to actual painting. And, as my father said, he had grown up decorating the cakes with limited resources in District 12, so it's not hard to imagine what he could do with the arena's unlimited supplies. 6: District 12 wasn't only made up of poor coal miners. Peeta came from the merchants' area, and those people could afford much more than the people from the Seam. And don't forget the Peacekeepers (who were generally richer), Capitol guests (Effie, victors and their mentors during Victory Tours, Haymitch and the other victor, and the mayor. They could all afford to buy cakes.
I really love how he said "trees are made of wood right? Even in the future" sounding like such a smartass.......too bad it was an epic fail cause anyone who read the books knows that the entire arena is fake and the trees are most probably not even made of wood
Ohh yeah because starting a fire in a forest from which you cannot escape is totally a good idea. The fire they made was pretty well insulated away from the woods around but if they set the tree on fire they wouldn't be able to control it.
What do you mean it doesn't make sense they would treat the districts better and/or help them out with automation? In reality, communist countries have always operated this way and still do. Look at North Korea. The main difference is they don't have much in the way of tech. Communism doesn't exactly inspire the high level of innovation and advancement that capitalism does.
Scat you don't have to burn it all the way down. The fire and smoke alone would do the job. Most deaths from fires are from smoke inhalation and not from being burned to death.
Literally none of this needs explaining to be understood. Tyrannical government keeps citizens suppressed so they're just able enough to work, but not strong enough to fight. Young kids don't think to burn a tree to the ground to kill one tribute. And the cake wars? It wasn't explained in the movies well, but District 12 has its own Sub-Hierarchy. The Seam, where Katniss is from, is the much poorer area of District 12, and many people look like Katniss. The town, however, has a lot of people that look like Katniss' mom and Prim because Katniss' mom moved to the Seam to be with their father. They're not wealthy by any means, but they are better off than those in the Seam. These things didn't need major explanation for the movie to make sense.
1:36 Ummm.. No. Did you just call them, "contestants"? They're called Tributes. Get your basic Hunger Games facts before you go saying what's wrong with it.
Ik but when katniss finds him painted as a rock hes hurt so the logic must've been Peeta:i think im going to die here... *ARTS AND CRAFTS TIMEE* Like who does that? Its just like saying: *SCreW sUrViVal iMa DiE WiTh sTyLe*
1. idiocracy was the reason for most the revolution and etc. 2. haymitch won in a different way to the other coaches 3. if they set the tree on fire then the fire would consume the whole forrest and give away their position 4. peeta said later on that hes started landscape painting after he enjoyed decorating cakes 5. in district 12 they have the town where the richer residents are and then the rest live outside the town to mine
Looper, regarding the 1st statement you made about the district 1 not providing enough for the other districes, NO SHIT SHERLOCK. That's how the 3rd world works. Big countries take advantage of little countries by asking a few of its citizens to enslave the masses through unfair labor practices. The hunger games got that aspect right and that's why many people liked the story because it reminds us of reality yet we empathize with this one girl who can rises through it all. All the rich countries in the world would not be rich if there are no unfair labor practices in poor countries. Its a dog eat dog world. Take for example, the USA. It has no production and no more natural resource left. Technically it should really have less value but because the US can bully other nations with its powerful army. Nobody questions why the value of the dollar is what it is when its not even backed by anything. Literally nothing is backing the dollar except the US govt.
^ ALL OF YALL HAVE TO STFU MAYBE THEY ARE TRIGGERED BECAUSE THE BOOKS THE MOVIES AND EVERYTHING ELSE MEAN SOMETHING TO THEM PPL LIKE YOU WHO SAYS "someone's triggered" ARE VERY OBNOXIOUS SO GOOD BYE I HAVE MADE MY POINT TO YOU IDIOTS
Please, I beg you, don't use the term "triggered" for me. I'm not a feministic, safety pin wearing snowflake. For film buffs such as myself with a broad taste in films and also the type who doesn't read the books, the points argued in this clip are a bit reaching when you keep in mind that the basic premise of the film is about a young girl who takes on an dictatorship with a bow and arrow.
My take on this: Idiocracy: ever learned about slavery? About how slaves where underfed and tortured? Also, about industrialization, each district has their own level of it. District 8 is quite industrial, but would you want to let another district get that knowledge as well? The Capitol sure wouldn’t! That could make room for teamwork and better communication between districts. Keeping the technology unequal keeps organization unequal as well, preventing large rebellions. Drinking games: Haymitch was drunk that night??? I think they omitted that in the movie, but he made a deal with Katniss and Peeta to stay sober enough to help them as long as they followed his advice. Do you really expect a smart person to be smart while they’re drunk?
I have to disagree with everything but the cake camo 1. Haymitch was in the Second Quarter Quell, a special hunger games that had twice the amount of tributes (48). After being in those games watching 47 other kids die, then having to mentor 2 kids from his district every year and watch them die for 24 years in a row he has an excuse to drink all the time...and he didn't just change over night, he still tries to help his kids but District 12 tributes are usually among the first to die so he doesn't really see the point after all these years. 2. A lot of the other mentors were either in the games voluntarily (District 1,2, and 4) or at least know the importance of getting stuff from the Cornucopia such as a weapon, food, and water. Some of the mentors probably do tell their kids to avoid the Cornucopia like Haymitch did, except they didn't listen or had doubts. Even Katniss doesn't listen, she tries to get a bag before running away and almost dies doing it. 3. How easy do you think it is to catch a tree on fire? Also they wanted to kill her personally, they didn't want her to die from smoke or falling off a tree.
Exactly! And don't forget the fact that after the stunt he pulled during the Second Quarter Quell, his family was executed, which was perhaps one of the most major reasons he didn't turned to prostitution for the Capitol like Finnick. As he had no one left to want to protect. Haymitch had plenty of reasons to get drunk, yet people who haven't either properly watched or went beyond the first movie, keep using the 'drunk coach' thing.
In the career districts is everyone fighting for a place in the HG? cuz everyone would be like "I volunteer as tribute" "no I do" I never remember that being explained in the books
Is everyone seriously ignoring the question whether or not there is something like a bathroom in the arena? How are the tributes supposed to do that when there are 10 cameras pointed at them 24/24!!
I bet they were injected with something that like stops them from needing to do that for the duration of the games (this is not what happened just what I think an explanation to that could be)
Jushua Skunk This injection doesn't make sense in my opinion, because they still need to eat and drink. And the stuff the body doesn't need *has* to go somewhere.
1.They do that to show they are under the capitol's hands, because they rebelled 2.Haymitch is intelligent that is how he won even with 100%more tributes than usual by outsmarting them. He is just mentally disturbed. 3.He says that cuz he is smart that he won the quarter quell without a mentor and he dint do it physically but mentally and their not a part of the careers. 4.a.Katniss dint notice the tracker jacker Rue told her. b."Peeta is madly in love with Katniss so he dint give that idea and all the careers are dumb they are only physically fit 5.All the merchants can buy the cakes and pastries cuz they are pretty rich. It would have been pretty cheap to bye them. He might have been given a few realistic cakes to do so he picked up the art. The only thing that dint make sense was where did he find paint in the Forest? NEXT TIME READ THE BOOKS AND THEN MAKE VIDEOS ABOUT THEM! IT IS CLEAR YOU HAVEN'T READ THEM!
Mike O sounds more like a philosophy of current leftism by keeping them on welfare which helps the left to maintain power while doing almost nothing to actually help
I think John means that if he were the careers, then send a couple of people back for the mines. They already had control of the cornucopia and they had the tech kid. Get a couple, place them under her tree, stand back and bombs away. However, that would have taken some serious thinking and trying to move live mines that far into the forest probably would have killed themselves instead.
Its actually fairly simple...Get a small campfire going near the tree one that small camp fire is going start adding more wood and leaves to it to get it growing. Hell you can start with 4 campfires one at each cardinal direction and surround the tree and grow it. This is why I hate fanatics of book series
Josh Byrd uhm, it'll be a "boring" scene for the "home viewers" to watch. Remember, this is not just a survival game, it's a fucking TV Show. If the careers set the flames, the gamemakers could easily make it rain. Do you think tracker jackers magically appeared there in a very convenient way? Of course not. Again, it's for a show. It's also a subtle reminder of the Capitol to the rest of the districts that they can make artificial stuff like that, so going against them is a bad idea. Lastly, the tracker jackers have significance come third book, The Mockingjay
Countrycowboy08 So it is more entertaining to watch teenagers sleeping at the base of the tree until another teen comes down for water then to see people lighting the tree on fire so katniss is forced to make an escape or face suffocation or being burned alive. Frankly your comment on it being a show gives my credit to my argument that yes they should have lit the tree on fire. It would be them doing something other then sitting in place on guard duty until the prisoner dies of thrist.
With Hammitch, the reason he helped them is he knew they were fighters, the reason he drank so much is to soothe the depression of watching his tributes die in the arena. In the train, he realises they are fighters and that they actually have a chance of winning. So he helps
2. Haymitch is a "rebel". In the book, he was the only one that was thinking of escaping or utilizing the arena boarder. He headed for the boarder and used the electric field to kill his opponent (this was a coincidence, but he was one of the few that didn't just think of how to kill people and stay alive but of ways to escape his fate and the game). This made the capitol alerted and start keeping an eye on these "rebellions" such as Katniss. They only want fighters to entertain them and not people who could think of ways to escape their fate
This video is RUBBISH it’s a movie/book not some political nonsense!! Why would Suzanne Collins bother doing all these little things so that you can be satisfied. The Hunger Games is one of the most famous incredible books/movies in the world, like come on Suzanne Collins didn’t spent ages writing this fantastic book for you to criticise, come on be more mature than that. Jennifer Lawrence makes a career acting in some of the most famous movies in the world, and you, you criticise some of the best films ever. COME ON!!!!!
@Benjamin Tarrant I think a nerve was struck. How good the movie was is a completely subjective thing. You can have an opinion, I won’t stop you, but a shit ton of people would disagree with your stance.
@Benjamin Tarrant I'm not saying he shouldn't criticize the movie but he should at least acknowledge that the books were the original and they answer ALL of his questions and "everything wrong" with HG
" Through a complete stroke of luck, she finds a conviently place hive of genetically modified bees which she drops on their dumb heads" Hmm, I wonder who elses dumb head should have a hive of genetically modified bees dropped on... 'COUGH' yours 'COUGH'
When he said that he was good at painting cus he decorated the cakes, it meant that he got a steady hand and was very good at detail. Everyone always jokes about this and it always triggers me.
Have you seen 1984? Also, Haymitch told them to run to the woods because water was their first priority. They were supposed to run and find water first before anything else.
Well the story for haymitch with the “overnight thing” was he kept seeing his tributes die so he gave up on them by drinking. But when peeta tried to stop him from drinking haymitch pushed back and that’s when Katniss almost stabbed his hand. That then made him believe that he actually had fighters.
1 the capital scares them into submission food dosent matter if they don't do it they die 2 the mentors tell them to run in to get loot 3decorating cakes in the district is diffrent if u pay any attention this video is terrible your welcome
I don’t want to be rude or anything, but I think you guys should actually finish the books instead of just, like, reading halfway so you can brag you read the book. You HAVE to finish the book before you make any statements and opinions. READ THE DARN BOOKS. They increase your knowledge too, which is probably highly recommend at your channel...! The books explain everything if you actually read the whole thing, and Suzzane Collins Made it that way!
@Benjamin Tarrant litteraly everything ^^' 1 - President Snow wanted to "punish" the districts for rebelling in the past (district 13 was destroyed and the Games were created 74 years before the beginning of the first book- after a failed rebellion). If the districts tried to rebel again, they wouldn't have enough resources to fight against the Capitol (until mockingjay). Also, Panem is a really corrupted country. There are a lot of other corrupted countries outside of America. And there DID use to be arenas where people would kill each other in the past - that's where Susane Collins got most of her inspiration from (she says). 2. Just because Haymitch was suddenly a "good mentor," doesn't mean he stopped drinking. He never really liked them at first, but I'm sure that's the way he was with EVERY tribute from district 12, because the kids that are reaped in 12 are often the poorest, weakest kids (your name is entered every year once, and you can trade it for extra food but every entry you make is cumulative). Haymitch won the 50th Hunger Games (for which they had twice as much tributes reaped - which means they were 48 in the arena), can you imagine mentoring 2 kids each year for the previous 24 years and watch them die without going crazy / alcoholic or anything else ? But he saw something different in the both of them. Actually the first time he met Katniss and Peeta he ended up passing out, vomiting on himself and they carried him to his room in the train and Peeta helped him to get clean, which is why he decided that maybe this year he could try to sober up enough to help them. 3. You never know what the other mentors said. They could've warned them not to go to the cornucopia, but didn't the tributes listen (just as Katniss did in her first games). Most people run to the cornucopia (mostly the careers) because they are the strongest and fittest tributes that wants to give the audience a good show. I mean they are TRAINED and VOLUNTEER to go in the games, they think it's the biggest honor to even enter the games. That makes 6 tributes out of 24 basically skilled and willing killers. Whoever gets to it first, basically owns the cornucopia now (unless they're weak and unskilled). If you go into the woods without a weapon, you're basically dead. And a lot of people didn't make it out in time to escape into the woods. But you have to remember, this isn't just a competition, it's life or death. Sure, running AWAY might seem like the best idea, but you also have to remember that you're going unprepared: no weapons, water, survival supplies etc. AND the gamemakers are supposed to make it as entertaining as possible, meaning, they'll find ways to kill them whether or not they have supplies. 4. Peeta suggested that because he loves her. Cato KNOWS that he knows Katniss, and probably trusts him just because he thinks Peeta knows what Katniss would do. He said "She's gotta come down at some point," which is true. Sure, the plan didn't work, but Peeta knew it wouldn't - because he knows Katniss is better than the careers. Plus, he probably wanted to say that as well because once they killed Katniss, they'd kill Peeta (they only wanted him to help them find Katniss). They also probably wouldn't make a fire because they didn't want more people coming over here, seeing the smoke. Remember there's still people like Thresh... 5. Again, you don't know what KIND of cakes they decorated. they could've been REALLY detailed and realistic. some cakes ARE like that you know.... Some people are rich enough to afford that kind of stuff. Remember, the Seam isn't the ONLY part of District 12. Katniss even says so. (thanks @Lydia for the great draft of ideas, i've added to them but you basically gave me the gist)
omg you say 'idiocracy' almost as if it wasn't exactly what happens in our capitalist based society currently. Acting like evil and keeping the workforce hungry is real.
So you want to be like socialist Venezuela? (Whos citizens lose an average of 17 pounds a year due to lack of food, to point out one shitty thing about socialism.)
it's actually genicaly engineered wasps and my cousin decorates cakes, much more to it than that. it is art. if u have done it ever since u were 5 u would know that.
SOME PEOPLE LIKE MERCHANTS IN DISTRICT 12 COULD AFFORD CAKE and Peet’s was not good at art because he decorated cake, he decorated cake because he was good at art
You said “In District 12 how could anyone afford a cake?” Well there is sections of district 12 the really poor section is the seam where katniss lives and the Merchants area which is the rich area where peeta lives which answers your question!
Actually the one about the cakes and camo makes a lot of sense. A lot of talented artists end up doing weird bullshit for a living but privately can make some pretty impressive works. So it's not so much that he learned the skill making cakes, that's just all he had to apply it to. Those cakes could be massively impressive for all we know. He took a talent that he had and that's what he did with it.
debunking this (just for fun, not hating on you) 1: The captiol is mean and powerful, and the districts are too scared to ask. 2 + 3: Haymitch is actually extremely smart, he outsmarted so many people when he was in the arena. he drinks because he suffers such bad ptsd from the games, and from having to coach so many children and then watch them die. 4: They couldn't light the tree on fire because the tree wasn't dead, it wouldn't be able to flame like a dead tree. - also, the gamemakers placed the nest their on purpose, too keep it entertaining for sponsors. 5: no idea
What movie franchises do you think we should feature next?
Divergent
Looper
battle royal
I asked for divergent first lol but yes that's a good on too
Looper Do Marvel and DC, I wanna see you piss those fans off too LOL
Yeah, try to set a healthy looking tree on fire.
I mean it's not like it's full of water or anything.

Katniss didnt just happen to find a tracker jacker nest, Rue who was also hiding in a tree pointed it out to her
That doesn't stop it from being a stupid cop out.

They were all over the arena. The game makers filled the place with tons of things that could kill the tributes in case they didn’t kill each other as expected. I know Rue mentioned the nests being plentiful in the book, but if they cut that line from the screenplay, then yes, it would come across as a cop out.
Rian T the game makers purposely put the hive there
I’m only 1 minute in and the first ‘point’ doesn’t make sense, the capitol treats the districts like that as punishment and reminder of the rebellion 🙄
Elihle Gontsana but it’s unrealistic...
Yeah but it makes no sense. It's like me making you make me food but taking away the kitchen.
It "punishes" you, but it makes it so I don't get my food as fast. Both suffer, it also made no sense when they bombed all of 12.

AluKardio good point...I’m just saying a rebellion was probably gonna happen sooner or later if this continued.
And don't forget that the districts also serve the capital so Maybe the cakes are for the capital

1. It would give away their location to other tributes because of the smoke
2. It would kind of set fire to the whole forest...

Yeah and Peeta is a great painter too
Yay! Team Peeta 😂
Yes exactly! Plus he was making cakes for the Capitol and have you never seen themed cakes? Some cakes require painting with exdible paint
for the "why don't they just set fire to the tree part":
because the trees aren't dead which means that they contain water which means that they won't burn
or
because the trees aren't in a real forest, they are in an arena that is completely controlable so if you would set them on fire you might get like electrified
or
because if you would burn down one tree you would probably set the entire arena on fire
(also sorry for my bad grammar but I am dutch)
Or maybe they didn't come up with that idea
Sad New or they simply couldn’t start a fire
Ik ben ook nl
kira megens, your grammar was fine, thanks for your logic.
The forest was real if you look at the Behind The Scenes
I'd like to provide an argument for how he said that the tracker jacker nest "happened" to be there. I think that the game makers placed that there bc early before that scene, when katniss was caught in the fire. The game makers placed a tree randomly to fall in front of katniss by the order of senaca crane(sorry if I spelled his name wrong lol) so what stops them from doing the same with the nest? They probably placed it there to spice things up with just I push of a button
It was mentioned that every other tree (in the arena ofc) has a tj nest.
(In the book)
They didn't set fire to the tree because it would've caught to the rest of the forest as well.
Graig Dankmeyer ok so humans are 70% water and we can still burn in a house fire but yes trees DO burn just not as quickly as everyone thinks
Tim Smith Thank God I was starting to think everyone here was dumb
Set the whole forest on fire? You mean like the GIANT WALL OF FIRE the game makers made to drive the Katniss to the careers?
Of course Haymitch is more wise because he has to work harder to get his tributes to win, all the other districts (especially the career ones) have more victors so they believe they can win again easily
zoom zoom103 they thinks so those bunch of lousy idiots
I think the reason why Haymitch is wiser than the other victors is that he was In a quarter quell and the quell had 48 tributes which means there were 47 dead children instead of 23
Also in the book it told us that he sobered up to mentor the tributes until the end of the games, then he went back to drinking
Lianna Francisco yeah but sometimes their cockyness is their downfall

Well the first point made was why does the Capitol supply such bad living conditions to the districts. This is stupid because everyone who has read the books or even knows a little about the hunger games story knows that the Capitol is all about punishing the districts for trying to rebel against them. This is the exact reason for the games in the first place. Why would they give the workers nice conditions?
No, it is a mix of fascism, Communism, Socialism, Capitalism, democracy, etc.
@@aidey8mph605It is a slave based society similar to the CCP. I would argue in that regard it is more Anti-Chinese maybe. Then it has elements of Nazism with how they treat the nation and the Hunger Games and treat Snow almost like a Hitler type figure.

Travis Semmler in some terrains yes. In the circumstances of the movie, no.
I mean the best way would be for Cato to run for an axe and start killing the tree.
Travis Semmler burning the forest would mean more dead tributes
you cant burn down a wet forest. Only in really hot conditions would that work. The wood in the movie seemed pretty damp.
Which begs the question, "If a tree burns in a forest and nobody sees it...does it smell?"
I'm sorry.
I'll show myself to the door. ;)
I hate this because if you read the book most of these things are answered/dealt with, or you know actually listened to what they said at some points in the movie
Kat You shouldn’t have to read a book to explain parts of a movie adaptation, that means the movie did a shit job of explaining it.
It would take way too long to have every detail of The Hunger Games books in one movie, it would definitely make the movie around 4+ hours long, and I don't know about you, but I'm not going to watch a 4 hour long movie of explanations
checkitimawesome I totally would. It would be like a visual audiobook.
Kat ya, you kinda half to read the books first to understand the concepts better

DerAlmighty I like you're profile picture LEGEND OF ZELDA FOR LIFE
Yea, that's an option too :).

Yeah, Peeta didn’t even get to eat fresh bread as that was all sold to peacekeepers and people like the mayor
That is not true but they def sell the cakes to the wealthy ppl that live in district like the mayor and his daughter and peace keepers
“ a group of other tributes” um actually it’s the Careers aka Cato, Clove, and Glimmer
emme and Marvel
they are still tributes tho so techinally hes not wrong
Hell yeah
I agree, this video is so messed up
i agree
Oh dear......This video should be titled. I dumb and don't get the basics in Hunger Game.
Pages & Pages Booksellers Yes
Pages & Pages Booksellers thank you for your service in the grueling comment section. You made my day.
Pages & Pages Booksellers Or Dumb and not read a single book
exactly
TurboOvenMan Or "Go watch the Hunger Games YMS"
2:02 maybe they did. In the movies everyone ran to the middle besides peeta and Katniss but in the books a lot of kids made it to the woods first. Plus, the cornucopia is very tempting, and maybe many tributes ignored what their mentor told them. Katniss almost ignored haymitch, and only didn’t go for the bow because peeta distracted her.
These were just dumb comments. Like Peeta and painting thing, it could 100% be possible that he was just gifted and that decorating the cakes was a medium to get better
Rose Traverso plus he loves painting.
Ok; ask that person to create 3d camo texture layering. It is a completely different skill set.
Josh Byrd if you actually read the books, you’d know peeta is amazing at painting making him good at camouflage and it just made him better at doing the cakes.
District 12 isn't full of poor people, part of it, like the part where Peeta lived, had money and was wealthy compared to the other parts.
HAYMITCH SAID HE WOULD SOBER UP LONG ENOUGH TO MENTOR THEM?
For the idiocracy section, the fact that the Capitol doesn’t feed or care for the districts is just meant to reflect how self-centred and how cruel they are. I mean, why would they pay (probably in tax form) for the people that they watch each year killing each other?
Alexasourus rex ikr! And they’re children!
@@alicetyack2802 also let’s not pretend like today’s workers are treated any better
Sam Wells Haymitch was drunk the first time he met katniss and peeta but sobered up the next day
Uuuuuugh STOP USING THE NUMBER 4 AT EVERY POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY
Sam Wells yeah he just sobered up
Immortal Lionheart lol
2:28 they actually are waiting for her to come down from the tree, because she has to eventually get down
You know that they WANT morale in the districts to be low, right?
I'd presume the technology the Capitol uses isn't geared toward productivity and efficiency for mining. They did use their technology for the dam in distinct 5, the nuclear research in 13, and machines in district 1. I think the tech was developed to increase quality of life and luxury for Capitol citizens.
It is pretty simple, they have low morale they don't want to fight the government, classic authoritarian dictatorship strategy.
Collins says later in the book that a common strategy of Districts 1 and 2 is to get control of the food supply early in the Games.
You obviously didn’t read the book 😂😂
You did not do a good job with this video.
IKR 2k dislikes and 5k dislikes.
BTW I am your 100th liker on your comment
They obviously didn't read the books. That's why they're so confused.
True
thats the looper problem. they upload too many vids too do proper research and you can really notice
xx_RWBY_xx IKR If he is going to do a video on a movie he should read the books because he seems like an idiot not knowing any of this stuff about the movie
*Okay! I'm gonna explain the things that don't make sense and say why they do make sense!*
For number one, the reason they don't give districts anything to help them do their is because of punishment. It's all punishment for their uprising. If the Capitol gave the districts things to help them they would never so called "learn their lesson"
NO! HE DOESN'T!
*GEEZ, IT'S IN THE BOOKS GUYS!!!*
for you first point I disagree because the younger ones never went through that, never deserved this lifelong punishment
But now after saying that it's the capital they are bad people
Joshua Skunk For the first one, that’s literally the reason. Oppression isn’t logical. The capitol oppressed the districts to keep themselves in power to live a lavish lifestyle and as penance for the sins of the districts of the past. Does it need to be logical? No. Dictatorships usually aren’t.
ok
Legend says, not a single person who helped make this video had ever touched a book.
Almost everything that gets said in this video is described in the books
Homie Narwhal | The title doesn't say that, nor does he in the introduction.....
I really love how he said "trees are made of wood right? Even in the future" sounding like such a smartass.......too bad it was an epic fail cause anyone who read the books knows that the entire arena is fake and the trees are most probably not even made of wood
The mayor could buy the cake. Peacekeepers could by the cake. You could save up to buy the cake just as Katniss did with Prim's goat, Lady.
Read the book. When will people understand that movies can't do the written word justice?
The cakes he make were made for the capitol and to impress the capitol you would have to be good at realism this will impress them
Ohh yeah because starting a fire in a forest from which you cannot escape is totally a good idea.
Oh and knuckleheads, do you realize how long it would take to burn down the tree she was on?
Scat you don't have to burn it all the way down. The fire and smoke alone would do the job. Most deaths from fires are from smoke inhalation and not from being burned to death.
but....china is communist countries and also the world's second largest economy
China is a dictatorship It stopped being Communist a long time ago
those are not mutually exclusive terms.
• Spidertrash • I LITERALLY just thought that.
he's not only a baker he was a painter too that's why he can do that
Painter =/= make up specialist
Ik but when katniss finds him painted as a rock hes hurt so the logic must've been
Peeta:i think im going to die here...
*ARTS AND CRAFTS TIMEE*
Like who does that? Its just like saying: *SCreW sUrViVal iMa DiE WiTh sTyLe*
1. idiocracy was the reason for most the revolution and etc.
2. haymitch won in a different way to the other coaches
3. if they set the tree on fire then the fire would consume the whole forrest and give away their position
4. peeta said later on that hes started landscape painting after he enjoyed decorating cakes
5. in district 12 they have the town where the richer residents are and then the rest live outside the town to mine
You really reached for this one, didn't you?
Caffeinated Nation Someone's a triggerd Fan Boy
^ ALL OF YALL HAVE TO STFU MAYBE THEY ARE TRIGGERED BECAUSE THE BOOKS THE MOVIES AND EVERYTHING ELSE MEAN SOMETHING TO THEM PPL LIKE YOU WHO SAYS "someone's triggered" ARE VERY OBNOXIOUS SO GOOD BYE I HAVE MADE MY POINT TO YOU IDIOTS
^ Someone is definitely triggered on this post, but it's not the OP.
+Caffeinated Nation the fuck does feminism have to do w being “triggered”
My take on this:
Idiocracy: ever learned about slavery?
I have to disagree with everything but the cake camo
In the career districts is everyone fighting for a place in the HG? cuz everyone would be like "I volunteer as tribute"
"no I do" I never remember that being explained in the books
Joshua Skunk there can only be one volunteer
yeah so are they just fighting for the place?
Is everyone seriously ignoring the question whether or not there is something like a bathroom in the arena? How are the tributes supposed to do that when there are 10 cameras pointed at them 24/24!!
I bet they were injected with something that like stops them from needing to do that for the duration of the games (this is not what happened just what I think an explanation to that could be)
I think they just have other problems than being too shy pooping in front of all people in panem...like trying to survive.^^
Jushua Skunk This injection doesn't make sense in my opinion, because they still need to eat and drink. And the stuff the body doesn't need *has* to go somewhere.
They just don't show when they're going to the bathroom.
LastKatanaGirl n
1.They do that to show they are under the capitol's hands, because they rebelled
2.Haymitch is intelligent that is how he won even with 100%more tributes than usual by outsmarting them. He is just mentally disturbed.
3.He says that cuz he is smart that he won the quarter quell without a mentor and he dint do it physically but mentally and their not a part of the careers.
4.a.Katniss dint notice the tracker jacker Rue told her.
b."Peeta is madly in love with Katniss so he dint give that idea and all the careers are dumb they are only physically fit
5.All the merchants can buy the cakes and pastries cuz they are pretty rich.
Keeping the poor desperate is exactly the philosophy of current conservatism, taken by Machiavelli as a means of social stability.
Mike O sounds more like a philosophy of current leftism by keeping them on welfare which helps the left to maintain power while doing almost nothing to actually help
Thatguy Man Much better to have them die in social Darwinism.
Both your American parties are neoliberal anyway. Not "leftist".
i would like u to try to set a single live big old tree on fire and get back with me
no if u would've died in the bloodbath. plus if u decided to "go back" to the cornucopia there wouldn't have been any stuff left.
So he helps
The tree was very green it would have likely not burned
ItsMeMNMXD Trees get burn no matter what. Doesn't matter. you can get materials to fuel the fire. it would take a while but it would had work.
Akin Khoo
What about throwing something on fire at the leafs on the tree.
1:54 imagine they put that music in the movie
That would be so funny, but what is that music named??
Lol it would be funny but I think he was trying to make it sound sarcastic and make Collins look ‘dumb’
OMG IM DYING🤣
Did you even read the books?
Victor Garcia i swear they sound SO dumb i cant help feeling sorry for them
Homie Narwhal creep
Sorry to tell you this but they couldn't have burnt down the tree karniss was in live wood doesn't burn the tree wouldn't have set alight
Haymitch is drinks so much alcohol cause his girlfriend, Mother and his brother were killed bij president sno after he won the games😕
Not all district 12 is poor people in the town had more money and people from the seam work in the mines
" Through a complete stroke of luck, she finds a conviently place hive of genetically modified bees which she drops on their dumb heads"
Hmm, I wonder who elses dumb head should have a hive of genetically modified bees dropped on...
Forgot about that from the book. Hard to live without water or food.
I laughed myself to death seeing Peeta as a rock. Katniss was desperately trying to find him when all he cares about is turning himself into a rock.
It's just like when Phil Leotardo disguises himself as a house in The Sopranos 😂
Well the story for haymitch with the “overnight thing” was he kept seeing his tributes die so he gave up on them by drinking. But when peeta tried to stop him from drinking haymitch pushed back and that’s when Katniss almost stabbed his hand. That then made him believe that he actually had fighters.
1 the capital scares them into submission food dosent matter if they don't do it they die
2 the mentors tell them to run in to get loot
3decorating cakes in the district is diffrent if u pay any attention this video is terrible your welcome
tell me you haven’t read the books without telling me you haven’t read the books
Clear you haven't read the books. Almost all of this is explained in the books.
@Benjamin Tarrant litteraly everything ^^'
1 - President Snow wanted to "punish" the districts for rebelling in the past (district 13 was destroyed and the Games were created 74 years before the beginning of the first book- after a failed rebellion).
Benjamin Tarrant are you actually defending the guy in the video-
Mayfly Rose yes
@Benjamin Tarrant everything made sense, but it’s just a part of fricken fiction. If fictional books always made sense they would be so boring.
@@mayflyrose8195 that’s a great reply and very accurate, but why explain? It’s obvious this person hasn’t read the books, either.
atleast he couldve said “dumb things in the hunger games movies”
omg you say 'idiocracy' almost as if it wasn't exactly what happens in our capitalist based society currently. Acting like evil and keeping the workforce hungry is real.
Ju. Mengardo lmao capitalism is better for the working class than socialism, learn economics
So you want to be like socialist Venezuela? (Whos citizens lose an average of 17 pounds a year due to lack of food, to point out one shitty thing about socialism.)
(And there are many other things wrong with socialism beside that)
Ju. Mengardo, This isn't 1890 England. Nothing of the sorts is happening.
Ju. Mengardo
The fact you think we live in a capitalist society proves you have no idea what capitalism is.
it's actually genicaly engineered wasps and my cousin decorates cakes, much more to it than that. it is art. if u have done it ever since u were 5 u would know that.
SOME PEOPLE LIKE MERCHANTS IN DISTRICT 12 COULD AFFORD CAKE
and Peet’s was not good at art because he decorated cake, he decorated cake because he was good at art
He took a talent that he had and that's what he did with it.
debunking this (just for fun, not hating on you)
1: The captiol is mean and powerful, and the districts are too scared to ask.
5: no idea
5: have you seen any realistic cake video on yt. Bakers having some amazing decorating skills
