My First Three Months With The Tesla Model 3 RWD

  • I've had my 2023 Tesla Model 3 RWD for three months now, so I thought I'd do a three-month review to share my ownership experience so far from the perspective of someone who uses it for car camping and light-duty adventuring. It's got a white exterior, white interior, 18" aero wheels, and since it's the Standard Range it has the LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery. I go over my mileage, how the battery degradation is, charging costs & duration, and my experiences getting it stuck in the snow...

    When my first set of tires were dead (which was quick) I bought cross climate 2s. Night and day diff in the winter over the factory tries. It did give me less range tho but most tries will outside of the original.

    As a canadian watching, not having snow tire in winter, a big no no. Especially on a tesla. I put summer tyre too early and even if they were all season, couldnt get out of parking lot. But with ny winter tyre, only got stuck twice and it was my fault. But not having a power outlet at your house, thats hardcore, i did it before i received my charger cord and was crazy.

    I cant wait for apterra to start production. I can get the lowest trim car and never need to charge it

    Thanks for this video man. I'm actually contemplating between the model Y LR and the Model 3 RWD. Similarly to you, I live in a condo and I won't have access to home charging. Also, I live inToronto and I know the LR, AWD would be better for Winters but it's like a 15k difference man, so i'm torn lol!

      @@MikeInTheWoods Do you have any regrets with your Model 3RWD ? How is it during the Winter and how do you survive without having a home charger?

    • @MikeInTheWoods

      @Kadeem Best Works fine. I've only owned it during Winter, so I don't have a warm season to compare it to yet. I charge entirely at the Pickering supercharger about once a week

    Thanks bro for sharing your experience. I decided to go with T3 LR AWD cause am living in the area where there is still snow during the winter ;)

    Hello Mike, first thanks for another great M3 review clip again.
    Do you think its worth spending the extra 10K (USD) for the long range trim? I am from Boston and the weather here is cold and snowy. I am thinking the RWD instead of the Long range but wasn't sure the RWD is good in snow. thanks

    • @MikeInTheWoods
      @MikeInTheWoods  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I live in southern Ontario and RWD has been fine, though I definitely recommend having winter tires and to ease up on the regen & accel in snowy conditions. Though it doesn't get that snowy frequently. I would say that if it is not a major impact to you, then yes, go for the LR; but the RWD will suffice if you don't go ham in poor weather

    just a quick question, does the cars freeze on the inside or condens on the inside during the winter? thnks

    How much battery range do you lose in colder temps? Looks like you've experienced areas with pretty extreme cold?

    • @MikeInTheWoods
      @MikeInTheWoods  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Worst case is 30% in -20C, but on road trips it doesnt get that bad because of the battery heating up from driving/charging

    Do you worry about battery degradation with using exclusively superchargers?

    • @MikeInTheWoods
      @MikeInTheWoods  ปีที่แล้ว

      I cover that in the video lol. I only charge once a week, and LFP is a lot more resistant to degradation

    Do you guys get paid by Tesla to review this RWD drive model. I don’t care what you really say I know being an owner of RWD 2023 M3 18inch wheels. Beside fun to drive Range is hardly get to 200 miles which is literally not acceptable vs they are advertising not sure why many folks sharing many false information. Don’t buy RWD just go for AWD longer range spec. It’s worth paying extra $6 to $7k don’t listen to anyone who promote RWD range. Other than range it is nice car but that’s it
