    My favorite thing to do with my RWD M3 is to slow down to like 30mph (when there is no one behind me) and then take off to 80 mph on the highway merge ramp. It’s so freaking fun!
    **I live in Texas so highway speeds can go up to 85mph

    I've had my model 3 RWD for 4 months now. I love it more than any other car i've ever had. I'm and airline pilot and i leave the car for 5 days at a time at the airport unplugged and was initially nervous about leaving the car due to phantom drain. I'm happy to report that there was no reason to worry, i leave the car for 5 days it it looses between 0-1% total. This is the easiest worry free car i've ever owned. not to mention charging to 100% daily when i am home is awesome!

    Add my name to the list of happy Model 3 RWD Standard Range owners; bought new in April 23. Thought I was buying a basic and practical EV for the price, but I ended up being blown away as the car is much more feature-rich and fun-to-drive than I expected. Absolutely no issues so far, although it is still very new.

      Also the entire process from start to finish with purchasing the car is much more efficient and streamlined. You don’t have to deal with some asshole trying to make 50% margins on a used car they bought for peanuts, no back and forth, everything is mostly done on the app. I’ve literally told car dealers to fuck off before. My biggest concern was that it wasn't going to be fast enough when I bought the "slowest" Tesla. Not so! I drive around in Chill most of the time and feel that it's zippier than most cars on the road. Super smooth too. I switch to Standard when I need to do more passing on the highway, or when I just want to have some fun. The RWD is more speed than most people need.

    Just took delivery of a new Model 3. Love it. Agree that it is the best value out there for an EV. $31,00 after tax credit is nuts! Agree with you on the sound system. It is the best sounding car system I personally have ever had. And, yes, SUPER comfortable seats.

    I bought our model 3 for efficiency. I bought the model 3 SR and I am in love with it. We do a lot of long trips and turns out that we take breaks more often than it needs to be charged up. So charging's not an issue. I've done a few things to make the car more efficient like getting the smaller wheels and the aerodynamic hubcaps. From unplugged performance I have gotten the efficient rear spoiler and a chin spoiler as part of it efficiency kit. I just installed them and will let you know if I get better mileage now. I'm not expecting anything big but a couple miles per charge would be nice and noticeable.

    • @utbunny
      @utbunny 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don't forget that over time, range will be less of an issue. They'll keep building more chargers and with more manufacturers using NACS now, they'll be all over the place in the next few years. Range won't even be a factor anymore like how it is with ICE cars.

    Honestly, I cant justify on spending an extra 7k for the LR simply because of the LFP battery pack is almost a must for me since I live an apartment without any charging ports. The duel motor and improved sound system is enticing for me but the stress that would with battery maintenance on any other battery pack will get old quick. I'm waiting to see the new update and how that would affect the pricing of the other models as well as waiting for confirmation on which battery pack the 2023 LR model uses and then I'll make my decision.

The supercharger network was plentiful along the Florida interstates and worked flawlessly... it really was a better roadtrip car than I expected. i personally find the sound system "just ok" i have thought about doing some upgrades, but i did adjust the EQ which is buried in the audio section, to made it sound a bit better. i am just concerned that altering anything in the electrical system would make the car angry and stop woking, unlike a gas car with a simple 12v battery that you can disconnect to make electrical adjustments, working on the electrical in a tesla is much more involved, and i haven't taken the time to do anything with it yet.

    I mean, a gas car doesn’t really need this advanced of a trip planner. Gas stations are everywhere, fueling up takes 2-4min, phones and/or in-car navigation do all of the GPS work today for finding gas stations easy enough while in route, etc etc. Having an EV right now for road trips is just a bit more complicated. It’s great they’ve minimized it for the users down to a near perfect solution with so much intuitiveness and ease. It took a lot of work…

    I don’t get why people want “self driving “, especially with such an expense. Cruise control is nice once in a while, and lane keep might be a good idea when you need to use both of your hands, but for the last 50 years I’ve found my left knee/thigh to be fine for lane keeping, so I’m certainly not going to pay for it. Keep all of the sensors, actuators, cameras, computers, screens, …. out of these cars and they might have a more reasonable price tag. I’d love to have a stripped down model 3, with only the essentials, would probably cost $10K - $15K less.

    4:45 exactly why a much cheaper car is smarter. I’m not really knocking Tesla or electric cars, but they aren’t legit yet. I got my gas car for $18K and it gets on average 32 mpgs. That’s going to work and back. On highway trips it’s pushing 45 mpgs. The tank will last anywhere from 400-500 miles and when I do have to fill up the tiny 13 gallon tank it takes 3 minutes I guess. In a good economy that amounts to something like $25 and for me that’s like twice a month. Somebody would have to throw tons of money at me to give up all that convenience to go electric. It just doesn’t make sense. Oh and my car has real buttons and a dash…

    I think owning a Tesla used to be the idea of "I'm special, I have a unique car", "I love talking about my car nobody else knows about".
    Now every 5 or 10 cars you pass in some cities is a Tesla. So the uniqueness is gone. Therefore, your feeling of newness isn't there. It's "boring".

    I agree on most of your points. I'd go a bit further on the Autopilot critique. For me it's only useful on interstates. My biggest criticism is that it will only let you drive 5 MPH over what it thinks the speed limit is on highways. Unfortunately, my M3 actually thinks it's going 2 MPH faster than it is, so in reality I can only go 3 MPH over the limit unless on interstates. To make it even worse, some highways have incorrect speed data. On a route I drive frequently it thinks the limit is 30 MPH when it's really 55. Ouch! And without auto lane changes it's only useful on the interstate when there's not much slower moving traffic. Tesla wants $6000 for Enhanced AP, but since most of other features it offers don't work it's not worth it.

    • @RT-rv5be
      @RT-rv5be 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not accurate regarding 5 over the speed limit.
      Use the right scroll to increase (or decrease) the max speed the system is permitted to go up to given traffic conditions. If you have FSD, the max speed can go no higher than 85 mph when FSD is activated.

    It is outright silly that the government between state (California) and federal will effectively discount the Model 3 by $15,000. This is a real problem for the Aptera getting investment and coming to market because with only very small state incentives for "e-motorcycles" ($750 in California) they are effectively at a huge artificial price disadvantage. Government policies should not be picking winners they should be offsetting the negative impact of the bad thing (buying new ICE cars). Any alternative including transit, ride sharing, having fewer cars, ebikes etc should be encouraged. If Aptera were to fail as a company I'll probably buy a model 3 within a month.

      @@BobbieGWhiz I'm pleased you asked. Everything we buy personally and for business, we look for country of manufacture. If it's China, I look for an alternative brand or model. In the case of iPhone, it's only made in China so I buy it. However, thousands of other products are made in Taiwan, Philippines, Korea, Japan, and elsewhere to avoid China. Also, I sometimes pay slightly more to avoid China, but it's worth it. It's not animosity toward the Chinese people, but toward the CCP.
