This video made my day. I will definetelly try this the next few days. I am crossing my fingers it works. It will help a lot on my long road trips. Thank u Jeff for sharing this info.
We tried this exact same way a couple of days ago in our EV9 and it worked just fine for our short session. Went from 40-60% at 90kw pretty consistently.
Finally got it to work! After multiple unsuccessful attempts I finally got my Kia EV6 to charge on the V3 Tesla supercharger. I just picked up my EV6 from the dealership after having some recall updates done. Also had some software updates applied. In fact, one of the updates was still installing as I drove to the V3 supercharger. After the update finished installing and the car rebooted a couple of times, I immediately plugged in to the supercharger with my A2Z adapter and voila! 😎
That’s great news, especially for a Sooner. You’ve had a tough year! I just ordered the A2Z adapter and will see if my Ioniq 6 works. I noticed that Tesla recently added the Ioniq 6 to their app. So far in Texas I am only aware of two Magic Dock sites (Bucc-ees Temple and a Tesla site in Arlington). This will be awesome if it works! Hook ‘em, Joe
Thanks again Jeff for providing the list of all the updates for 22 Kia EV six . Without your comprehensive list of all the adjustments updates and recall data. Our cars would be sort of a mess. I’m sure they’ve ironed out a lot of those details with the newer vehicles, but your diligence has served as well. Thanks again.
I charged our Mercedes EQS 580 SUV at a Tesla Supercharger two days ago using a similar approach. I added a Ford Mustang Mach E to the Tesla app to fool it and that allowed me to use my Lectron Vortex adapter to charge our SUV. I only reached 87 kW at the highest but that was likely because I couldn't precondition the battery. There were no other nearby DC Fast Chargers that I could route to in order to pre-heat the battery. Mercedes announced full support for the Tesla network starting February 1st but I will need to take our EQS into the dealership for a software update that will add all v3 and v4 Tesla Superchargers to the NAV system and also support Plug-and-Charge through the Mercedes me app.
Thank you for your follow up on this Jeff.I went to the Tesla app and just clicked the button indicating that I have my own NACS to CCS adapter. I’m in the Columbus Ohio area, and it’s only showing the Tesla supercharger stations which have V3 units, which is correct. I will visit one of these stations tomorrow and see what kind of luck I have with the charging… I’ll let you know if it works! Thanks again!
Hey Jeff, I guess this is a case-by-case basis. I own an Ioniq 5 and an A2Z adapter. I tried all night at a V3 Supercharger, but it did not allow me to charge. In fact, it kept telling me that my car is not yet ready for access to the Supercharger. I’ve heard some people say it works, while others say it doesn’t.
No go for me with '23 Ioniq 5. Those Superchargers showed up in Tesla app more than a month ago. I've been trying once a week since - still can't charge. I think you got lucky to stumble upon an "unofficial early testing" Supercharger.
It's not just me. Many EV6 and EV9 owners have confirmed. You have in the Tesla app that you have a 2023 Ioniq 5 with the NACS adapter? What adapter are you using? Was it fully latched and locked to the Tesla connector? If it's not fully locked in, the Tesla charger won't initiate the charge.
Yes, I have '23 Ioniq 5 in Tesla app. A2Z adapter. Yes, fully latched. I even tried plugging adapter into car first and then plugging charger cable into it. In that scenario Tesla app tries immediately to produce charging summary and hangs. Have to close it and reopen to get it working again. If done according to instructions in the app - plug cable into adapter first then the whole contraption into the car - I get same message as for the past month. "Your vehicle can't charge at Superchargers at this time". On another subject - did you notice that split screen on Tbox is now resizeable on the fly after November update? Nothing about it in changelog. I stumbled upon it accidentally. Wonder if you noticed any other new features.
Well, I can confirm that it would not start charging on my 2022 ionic five using Lectron adapter. Tried three times. Got the same messages others have had about it not being available to charge at this time. Bummer, was hoping it would turn on and charge.
Jeff, THANKS FOR THIS!!! I am charging now and getting 96Kw steady without issues. I am in a road trip and the town I am in is nothing but Level 2 chargers or DCFC charger option at a miserly 26Kw rate. The Targ'et has TWENTY Tesla posts!!!
Yep that's personally my thought process until V4 superchargers roll out. You just give up too much speed, especially with current gen e-gmp vehicles and really especially the current EV9 (maxes around 84 kw).
Tom on state of charge has tested the A2Z extension cord adapter for probably a week or two now and says it works just fine so I’m excited to buy one. Just waiting for Kia. to get their navigation system up and going. I still can’t believe they left the early adopters out and just threw them to the curb. Expecting us to buy an adapter from them especially one that is subpar. My next vehicle will probably be a Hyundai or a Tesla I love my car, but what they’re doing is totally greed and certain levels of inefficiency and lack of loyalty to their customers.
Excellent! Access to the Tesla supercharger network is a game changer if you're thinking of buying something else. It's going to be significantly cheaper than other networks. I'm probably going to buy an EV3 because the long range one is just about affordable in my situation. I'll be dead before Tesla has something I want to buy. It's a shame, I used to be a fan, but this cyber and taxi nonsense, along with cancelling the affordable car has made me look elsewhere.
Did you like the typhoon plug, and are you planning the NACS EXTENSION CORD FROM A2Z. Did you see the review of the Kia NACS adapter on TH-cam state of charge.
Yes it's well built and works well. I am going to be getting the extension cord from A2Z too to see how that owrks. And yeah I saw. The Kia adapter will work fine with E-GMP vehicles since they don't pull more than 350a, but other EVs definitely pull more which isn't good.
Same thing for Mercedes. I put in GMC hummer for my vehicle in the tesla app. Went to a charger that the tesla app indicated could be used by GM. Used my adapter to connect Mercedes and it charged, no problem. Tried my Kia at the same time, last week and it did not work. Something was definitely enabled today on the Tesla side to allow Kia charging.
I added the Kona Electric and tried to initiate a charge. It actually started to initiate versus before it would just tell me my car can't charge there. So something definitely changed.
Ok.. just checked to confirm. Kia may be able to charge but the Hyundai 2024 Ioniq 5 can NOT charge on normal Tesla Superchargers. At least mine can't.
@@TechnicallyJeff Yes. It's v3. Listed as "available to all" but it doesn't work. If you scroll to the bottom of the info you see the cars allowed "Ford, Rivian, etc" but Hyundai isn't listed yet.
@@TechnicallyJeff I have a Genesis GV60. When I put that in the Tesla app, it doesn't show the stations, but when I put Hyundai Ioniq 5, it does. Interesting.
Jeff, first of all thanks for the video. I have a Genesis GV60. Do you think that I would be able to charge the way you did? Also out of curiosity how long after ordering the A2Z did it take for you to receive the adapter?
Honestly I'm not sure. Ioniq 5 people have reported issues which is odd. For the A2Z, I've had it a while to be honest. I don't recall how long it took offhand.
I use the Tbox Plus I reviewed (promo code: TECHJEFF) - autokitcarplay.com/products/cpc200-tbox-plus-android-13-0-internet-ai-box-wireless-apple-carplay-android-auto?ref=Techjeff&variant=43929547833571 -along with a bluetooth obd2 adapter (amzn.to/4g6iIA0) and run the Car Scanner app on it.
The ICING happens a lot at my local TS as well. It's almost never super packed with Teslas, so the population that blocks these chargers is probably mixed. Regardless, you probably could talk to the manager of whatever store has that TS in its parking lot and they can call a tow. I've always fantasized about going into the local GIANT and picking up the intercom phone because I know the code, and announcing my own ultimatum for the ICE owner. While adding that it's a $100 fee to unhook your vehicle if you can't shop and load your car up faster than the tow truck gets here.
Yeah it's pretty crazy. They all ended up leaving within about 5-10 minutes, but still annoying. I will say I didn't notice any "EV charging only" signs though.
@TechnicallyJeff the one we have here is at a Sheetz so TYPICALLY nobody's robbing the spot for a very long time although there have been a couple of occasions throughout the years where I've seen people intentionally have small car meets there and they'll block almost every charging station despite it being late at night and a plenty-open parking lot that isn't for charging. And so that's why I say it's usually mixed. There are malicious blockers and then the "I'll only be here for a few minutes" blockers. Some things should just be implied. It's amazing what this society will do until there's a prosecution or fine put against them. Just don't park at the big red charging station that says TESLA on it if you're not gonna charge a car. Instead, they're just gonna walk every line until there's legislation forcing it, and then they can hate us even more. But also to be fair to the choice of not spending that much extra money to print signs... they do get ignored anyway. They have those signs at the Shell Recharge stations outside the aforementioned GIANT they get ICED regularly. They even have them at the Chargepoint stations at my local courthouse. A COURTHOUSE. Where you're literally steps away from the people equipped to write you tickets, and they still do it. They'll do it until there's a fine or tow truck involved.
Haha that's crazy. Honestly if I see a gas vehicle blocking an EV charger and there are posted signs and they don't leave quickly, I'd gladly call to have it towed. They're just being a jerk at that point and in most states it is illegal.
I saw a video recently that said some gas stations that offer ev charging do NOT allow the charging company to reserve the recharging spaces for charging only. It is possible this is the case where you were. In ANY CASE, it’s poor morals to just PARK in ANY fueling space….ICE or Electric.
Great 🎉i wonder if they wait for the NACS equipped vehicle to be available to open the network fully. I know the 2025 EV6, EV9 will have the new socket. As already commented this is pricey though. However a good backup when other network chargers are full.
I don't think that's it. It's part of the agreements with manufacturers. Also, the 2025 EV9 doesn't have NACS but the 2026 should. I'm looking at 2025s so I know haha.
I’m guessing this is more an issue getting their adapters out to customers than about selling cars that don’t need them. I bought the A2Z adapter partially because of this reason (in that I didn’t trust Kia would be able to supply their adapters in a reasonably short time), but also because it’s only rated for 350A and I might want to use an adapter on a different car at some point.
@@stevefalls3689 use the hamburger menu on the top right and select "Charge Your Other EV". It should take you to the manage vehicles page if you haven't set anything up. If not, select the filter icon on the left near the bottom, and at the top under "My Vehicles" drop down the list and select manage vehicles. That should let you add a vehicle using the + control at the top right.
Seems like they took away access. Just tried at supercharger by me and said my car is not allowed to charge. I have the A2Z adapter. I'm in Northridge, CA.
Just got our Tyhoo Pro A to Z from Amazon reading instructions it says to plug adapter into car first then Super changer does it matter going to charge tomorrow Canadian EV9
Yeah definitely not cheap. If you are going to charge at Tesla stations much though, you can pay the $12.99 membership and it drops to $0.39/kWh which isn't horrible.
@@GodofGHz In Ontario the non-tesla flat rate at Urban sites (London , Kitchener is $.48 /kWh out in the towns $.67 /kWh plus 13% HST . Toronto uses time of day rates between .67 and .48. Looking at the Tesla app today at 12:noon those sites are by busy with wait times.
@@JohnRoss1in BC I’m seeing around 31¢/kWh which is crazy cheap compared to places like Electrify Canada and others. Hydro in BC is pretty inexpensive tho’
The Tesla app does now display some V3 superchargers in my region as available for our 2022 Ioniq 5. I did have to check that I have a NACS adapter in the app’s charging settings. Prior to that only V3 SC w/Magic Dock displayed on the app. I am not rushing out to plug into one as the nearest is a 65 mile drive.
@@Sugashak212 Go to your account (upper right) and select charging then vehicle details. Complete the details then go back to the opening page and select "Find a Charger". The SC sites available for your vehicle will be displayed. You may need a NACS to CCS adapter. January 15th has been rumored to be the date but I never saw anything official from Hyundai.
The Ioniq 5 was supposed to get access and nothing came out from Hyundai saying it was pushed, only Kia was pushed. And it's in your account in the Tesla app you can add a vehicle under charging.
I’m curious - how different is a Kia Niro EV (2019) from the EV6? If the EV6 works will my Niro work? Just got my first EV so my head is spinning learning about all the different architectures etc.
Good question. I haven't heard of any Niros being able to charge at a supercharger. That said, all Kia EVs seem to have lost access for now. I just put out a video about it.
@@TechnicallyJeffThanks for the quick response, bummer you lost access but at least it should be restored (officially) pretty soon. Will definitely buy a charger using your promo code once it’s confirmed that my vehicle will work on Tesla, appreciate you! 👍
@TechnicallyJeff Yeah, that's fair. I mean, l can't know if Electrify America supports the fascist movement as well... But for sure not to the same extent.
I agree. However, my Mom lives in Mendocino, CA where there's a single CCS charging station within a 70 mile radios (and it's one of those battery-operated stations that slows to a crawl when its battery is low). There's also a twelve stall supercharging station about five miles north of her. I had no issues when I made this drive down from Seattle in October, but knowing there's a massive backup plan nearby is well worth it. I also make frequent trips up to Vancouver, BC, where CCS charging stations are frequently single stalls at gas stations (also battery operated) but there are tons of superchargers. Those Tesla stations are charging CA 31¢/kWh which is about half what I pay at EA just south of the border. I will likely pay more most of the time for faster charging and to not help fund Musk's insanity, but these are also good backups in case I need to charge while I'm in Canada.
@@djames4242 Yeah, that's cool. I'm just making sure to be mindful of the implications. I personally only need a Level 1 twice a week overnight. I get that charging at home is not enough for many people, but for the rare occasion I need to charge at a station, I'll do whatever I can to avoid Tesla. Even if I have to pay double, since it's still very little money in my case... I have family on Vancouver Island and plan to go visit them from LA with my EV6. Looking forward to the adventure :) The longest trip I did yet was LA - Las Vegas and that was sooo easy. Two stops at EA, 15 min each. Not enough time to use the restroom and get a snack. Barstow and Primm.
I’m assuming there was no navigation set up for these Tesla superchargers on your car that navigation update will come probably in the spring, which is what we’re probably waiting for
Lectron and A2Z are well reviewed. I have the A2Z and it's pretty inexpensive. This is my affiliate link and promo code TECHJEFF saves another 5% - a2zevshop.com/products/nacs-ccs1?ref=TECHJEFF
What model year did you specify for the Ioniq 5? 2025? 2024? 2023? etc. I have a 2023 Ioniq 5 and it did not charge. I'm thinking if i change it to be a 2025 it might work??
@@TechnicallyJeffI have the Lectron Vortex adapter. I plan to try again later today at a different V3 Supercharger location. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks.
Musk's unforgivable antics aside, I think I'm still going to treat Tesla Superchargers as an option of last resort. I spent more on an EV than necessary in order to get sub-20-minute charge times, and I'm gonna keep gunning for those. It's good to know this works now, though, so thank you for posting!
My Tesla app doesn't show Hyundia as a NACS partner. I tried to charge my 2022 Ioniq 5, using the adapter, at a Tesla charger, didn't work. Does your tesla app show Hyundia as a NACS partner?
@@evangayton6086 good to know. I was wondering if it would work on my Niro EV as well but I’m guessing the Ioniq 5 and the EV6 are just basically the same vehicle with different bodies so I’m guessing that’s why it worked for him.
any concerns that using a non-KIA adapter will void a warranty and do you think that the KIA adapters, whenever they come out, will enable faster speeds?
No, and no, first, it's just a dumb adapter, nothing to convert, it's only slower because of the charger itself has to convert for our 800v batteries... Also, the 3rd party adapters make the OEM ones anyway and also have a higher amperage rating, I trust them more actually.
The adapter is not the limiting factor, so the official adapters will not be faster. The A2Z is rated at higher current than the Kia official adapter will be rated.
No to both. The A2Z adapter is great quality and the magnusson moss warranty act means they can't just void your warranty. They'd have to prove an issue was directly caused by another adapter. And no, faster speeds aren't possible on V3 superchargers .V4 will be faster though.
Sorry! I was wrong once I refreshed the app it no longer showed the V3 stations available. I went back and removed the Kia EV six vehicle and refresh the app and now it works again. I will check tomorrow to verify that I can get a charge at a V3 station
Thanks for the update ! I wonder if "older-2022 etc." models of EV6 work too, Tesla can also stop this from working at any time too. Maybe KIA wants to have Adapters ready to send/sell when they announce full access. Are are firmware updates Kia can do to the car to help the charge curve? The infotainment/Map update is promised soon, update DCFC sites to include the compatible Tesla sites? I'm not close to any to V3 sites , but will be near one in London ON. in a week. (BTW The automatic Door lock is somewhere near Hauppage NY moving back and forth between post offices on Long Island) )
I'm sure they do. Mine is a 2023. And yeah possibly due to adapter availability. I don't think charging curve will get better though. Likely just max at 97 kW for the vast majority of it on V3s.
I added a 2022 Ioniq 5 to the Tesla app, and it showed multiple SCs available in my area. Won't know for sure until I get an adapter and try it on my 2022 EV6, of course.
I have a 2022 Kia EV6 GT Line AWD and an A2Z adapter. I entered in the Tesla app that I have a 2022 Hyundai Ionic 5. After multiple attempts at two different charges within the supercharger station, I had no luck at all. Any ideas?
@oumed73118 hmm it's a charging station that works with NACS adapters? Was the adapter fully locked to the Tesla connector? If not it won't initiate a charge. I had that issue at first.
It's asking for your VIN? If you go to your profile > charging > vehicle details it should just ask for the year make model and if you have a NACS adapter.
Very interesting, as I play with the Tesla app and toggle between my EV6 and the ghost Ioniq 5, I pan out to see the states around me and….. The EV6 shows availability in some areas and toggling to the Ionic, it shows completely different areas. Hummm🤔
Kia needs to push an update to all their older EV6 to allow you to manually start battery conditioning. That said I only plan on using it as a last resort but there’s a trip I take where there’s more Tesla available than anything else. It just gives us more options is the way I see it. Competition is good for the consumer
Hmmmn, Saturday (1/11/24) I tried to do this with my 2023 EV6 GT Line, it happened to be at a V4 charger. I was trying to use my A2Z Typhoon (That I've never used), and at 2 different charging stalls the Tesla app said "Vehicle not detected.". But on my left screen I saw a little green plug icon. So it seemed like the car was detecting it. I told the Tesla app I has a 2025 Hyundai Ioniq 5. Maybe I should have tried a 2024 since that would have needed an adapter. I dunno. I chose this particular SC location because it wasn't too busy. Great video as always Jeff!
Try again - I think it would have gained access today. Also, make sure you lock the A2Z adapter to the Tesla connector. If it's not fully locked in it won't charge.
@@TechnicallyJeff Thanks so much for the reply! :D I'll give it a try this weekend. I was worried I may have had a bad adapter, the NACS handle was locked in for sure. Cheers.
100% definitely select one that needs an adapter or at least not one newer than you have, sorry, but that's just common sense... also, no such thing as a V4 yet, only v3.5 w/v4 cabinet sadly...
Well, it definitely looks like it was Kia’s fault. Which adapter did you use and thank you for going out and testing the system obviously Tesla was ready for this but Kia and their navigation system probably didn’t get it together fast enough thanks again. Did your payment go through OK?
Those 🧊 vehicles and non charging vehicles should be towed immediately. We "may" have to have a day where EVs block gas and DIEsel pumps to show others, that is a problem and can not be tolerated, even for a dew minutes as a ice driver would not want an ev blocking a fueling space for even a few minutes. 😊
The OTA isn't required to charge on a Supercharger. I don't know why people think this. It's just a bugfix that prevents an issue while using Superchargers that may or may not occur.
They didn't care. One pulled up in the spot to my right and I told him where my charge port is I'm using that charger but that he can switch sides and he didn't care at all lol
@@plymouths It actually blows my mind just how inconsiderate, lazy and selfish some people are... I'd say something like "Hey nice EV you got there..." just to irritate their day a tiny bit, lol.
Still ask WHY??? folks are so gaga over Telsa chargers? I probably won't use them as they're INFERIOR to other networks already compatible to 800v eGMP vehicles. I drove an EV9 from South Dakota to South Florida...2500+miles and never had an issue and never wanted the SLOW charge rates of Elon's junk chargers. To me it was senseless for other manufacturers to convert to NACS as if they do put in V4 telsa chargers they've got to change out to the updated 800V NACS connector as current NACS shorts out at 800v between pins. They should had just converted Telsa to CCS then instead...better yet to the STANDARD CCS2 used through out the rest of the world other than China.
NACS is superior as a connector. Once V4 rolls out we'll be on a good place. But yeah until then, 800v vehicles should probably just use them as backup.
@TechnicallyJeff As an Electricial Engineer I would NOT agree. NACS is an INFERIOR connector as it also presents issues when used as in combo with Level2 charging. I can see drivers using these adapters for DCFC on a Level2 charger and completely wiping out either their vehicle or charger or both. There are so many things wrong with the NACS connector.
@TechnicallyJeff But also question why not a conversion to CCS2 instead? As this also permits 3phase Level2 charging and keeps the DC separate from the AC and the connector itself is superior in providing better dielectric isolation.
@TechnicallyJeff I guess the bottom line is safety and engineering integrity. From what I've seen of Telsa lately, safety does not seem to be a top priority and as for engineering, they seem to be falling far behind others.
@@TechnicallyJeff The best chargers mimic the gold standard which are gas stations. These don't have overhead roof/canopy, no screens, no credit card readers, no pull through parking, no long cords, not tied to a convenience store, but more importantly they can't charge our cars faster than 80-85 kW. I will choose gas stations like Pilot/Flying, Circle K, Thornton, Love's, etc any day over these parking lot ones. With that said, don't let me deter you from charging at tesla. Have fun and safe travels.
Ah I gotcha. I mean it as some of the best as in reliability. But yeah I agree. Not all have a roof, pull through, most don't have long cords (v4 is longer). Most are by a store of some sort though.

Hmm interesting. What year? And what do you mean it told you it's not ready?
No go for us too. Doesn’t work.
It's odd some Ioniq 5s seem to work while others don't
@@TechnicallyJeff Only Ioniq 5 that can use the Tesla Supercharger is the 2025 that has an actual NACS port.
yeah i saw that working
No go for me with '23 Ioniq 5. Those Superchargers showed up in Tesla app more than a month ago. I've been trying once a week since - still can't charge. I think you got lucky to stumble upon an "unofficial early testing" Supercharger.
It's not just me. Many EV6 and EV9 owners have confirmed. You have in the Tesla app that you have a 2023 Ioniq 5 with the NACS adapter? What adapter are you using? Was it fully latched and locked to the Tesla connector? If it's not fully locked in, the Tesla charger won't initiate the charge.
Didn’t work for us with actual 2023 & 2024 Ioniq 5’s. Used the Tesla app & the Vortex adapter. So looking like fake news atp.
Hmm that's very odd. And no I haven't noticed that. That's cool though I'll have to test it.
Awesome I'm glad it's working well for you!
@@TechnicallyJeff Also... as a side note, my car is clearly identified as an EV6 in the Tesla app so I had access without the I-5 "fib"
Really? Is it a magic dock station?
What is the decision tree on using Tesla chargers? Is it only something to be used when faster CCS chargers arent available?
Yep that's personally my thought process until V4 superchargers roll out. You just give up too much speed, especially with current gen e-gmp vehicles and really especially the current EV9 (maxes around 84 kw).
Nice hack Jeff! Thought I was going to have to wait until spring, but now looks like I'll have to pick up an adapter.
Yep glad to see it work!
Oh nice that's good to know.
Test completed at NACS in Florida Canadian works with Ato Z Tyhoo Pro adapter
Glad to hear it!
Thank you makes our trip home to Vancouver Island next month easy
hopefully we get access back by then
What your guess on turning back access should I send back adapter?
Chargers are showing in the app now so I think any day
Yeah I agree it's really great to have the access now
Good video. Thanks for filming it. Is Kia trying to delay it? It's the same platform as Hyundai, so I don't think they can.
I'm not sure, but we'll see what happens.
Thanks for posting Jeff!
Glad to help!
Oh interesting thanks for sharing
probably whatever they did to enable hyundai platform mates since we share bits.
yep yep
I added the Kona Electric and tried to initiate a charge. It actually started to initiate versus before it would just tell me my car can't charge there. So something definitely changed.
Interesting. I'm not sure the Kona works though. The Niro doesn't. Might want to try the Ioniq 5.
Ok.. just checked to confirm. Kia may be able to charge but the Hyundai 2024 Ioniq 5 can NOT charge on normal Tesla Superchargers. At least mine can't.
Mine can’t either. I’m calling crap.
You tried on a V3?
@@TechnicallyJeff Yes. It's v3. Listed as "available to all" but it doesn't work. If you scroll to the bottom of the info you see the cars allowed "Ford, Rivian, etc" but Hyundai isn't listed yet.
Yeah seems many Ioniq 5s can't. Very weird
Done! Thank you Jeff
Glad to help!
I wonder why it works when they announced a delay to spring time?!?
I assume Tesla removed the VIN limitation on their end, but Kia has a few things they are doing to make sure everything is ready.
@@TechnicallyJeff I have a Genesis GV60. When I put that in the Tesla app, it doesn't show the stations, but when I put Hyundai Ioniq 5, it does. Interesting.
Right, it doesn't show any for the Kia EV6 either. So I put in Hyundai Ioniq 5 with NACS adapter and used that for filtering and for charging.
Hyundai IONIQ 5 is the same car.
Same architecture yeah.
I know you have mentioned this before, but what is the item you use to get the charging data on the screen of your EV6?

That's Car Scanner running on my Tbox Plus - here's one of the videos I have on it: th-cam.com/video/yUSJ6GuvTnA/w-d-xo.html
Yeah it's interesting the Kia adapter is only rated for 350A
My Tesla app doesn't show an option to add a vehicle. What am I doing wrong?

That should let you add a vehicle using the + control at the top right.
Seems like they took away access. Just tried at supercharger by me and said my car is not allowed to charge. I have the A2Z adapter. I'm in Northridge, CA.
Yep I just tested it and will be putting a video out today, but it seems access was removed. Hopefully we get it back soon!
Just got our Tyhoo Pro A to Z from Amazon reading instructions it says to plug adapter into car first then Super changer does it matter going to charge tomorrow Canadian EV9
I don't think it matters either way. But probably easiest to plug into car, then plug connector into adapter.
51 cents per kWh is horribly expensive!
Nevertheless, thank you for testing Jeff!
Yeah definitely not cheap. If you are going to charge at Tesla stations much though, you can pay the $12.99 membership and it drops to $0.39/kWh which isn't horrible.
Its pretty normal where I live. Used to see prices like 69 cents and 84 cents all the time, so 51 doesnt seem so bad.

I would have to be stuck in some really bad situation to ever touch anything Tesla, but good for you.
I personally plan to use it as a last resort since EA charges quicker
I will likely pay more most of the time for faster charging and to not help fund Musk's insanity, but these are also good backups in case I need to charge while I'm in Canada.
yeah i'd definitley use it there lol
I’m assuming there was no navigation set up for these Tesla superchargers on your car that navigation update will come probably in the spring, which is what we’re probably waiting for

any concerns that using a non-KIA adapter will void a warranty and do you think that the KIA adapters, whenever they come out, will enable faster speeds?
And no, faster speeds aren't possible on V3 superchargers .V4 will be faster though.

nice!
Did you get the OTA update for NACS to Tesla, etc.

I used the A2Z and yeah payment worked fine
Those 🧊 vehicles and non charging vehicles should be towed immediately. We "may" have to have a day where EVs block gas and DIEsel pumps to show others, that is a problem and can not be tolerated, even for a dew minutes as a ice driver would not want an ev blocking a fueling space for even a few minutes. 😊
Yeah honestly if someone is blocking and there aren't any other stalls, I absolutely would call. It's illegal in most places.
I’ve seen some EV9 owners on Facebook who have had the OTA and it’s working fine disguised as an Ioniq 5
Yep I've seen that now too. Mine works without any update though which is good
The OTA isn't required to charge on a Supercharger. I don't know why people think this. It's just a bugfix that prevents an issue while using Superchargers that may or may not occur.
That's correct. And likely includes Tesla Superchargers on the maps.
Why would someone buy a Kia EV instead a Tesla and charge it at Tesla supercharger. Make no sense 😂
Tesla chargers are just a backup. They are slower anyway lol
I bet Tesla owners love you taking two spots.
They didn't care. One pulled up in the spot to my right and I told him where my charge port is I'm using that charger but that he can switch sides and he didn't care at all lol
At least he's actually charging - the folks ICEing chargers are the real jackwagons!
@plymouths no doubt
@@plymouths It actually blows my mind just how inconsiderate, lazy and selfish some people are... I'd say something like "Hey nice EV you got there..." just to irritate their day a tiny bit, lol.
haha yeah
You're more concerned about uneducated users, not the connector it seems. Once everyone switches to NACS that won't be an issue.
Shit chargers. If you think this is what you deserve then can I offer you dealership DCFCs?
Tesla chargers are some of the best lol what do you mean?
@@emrimbiemri3211 We found the EA troll! The whole point of using the Tesla chargers is in case of emergencies, not as a substitute for the faster CCS chargers. Sheesh.
yeah just for emergencies at this point
Not touching anything Tesla.
A lot feel that way. Could be a good backup though in a pinch.
