    If u pour rotifer with green water there is a 80%chance ull loose all fry. Always sif the rotifer out using coffee filter paper or any screen That way less polution. My first attempt i lost all within 3 days cos i was pouring green water. Second attempt i used coffee filter and since then i have raised more than 500 clown fish. Hope it helps. Good luck.

    Clowns are really hard to keep alive. Nine days is pretty good. You'll get there. :)

    massive tip!! I.M.O use a circular tank once fry have hatched so food is constantly going direct into fry mouth plus minimum of 2ft surface area!!!!!! 😜

    Hi won’t the sponge filter pull out the rotifiers ?

    the key is to make sure they have loads and loads of flow using a air pump , till they start hatching , then slow it down . if they don't get current to rock the eggs, then they won't be able to release from the sack and the eggs could become oxygen starved and develop mould.

    I used that Ocean Nutrition Instant Baby Brine Shrimp for an unexpected batch of lined seahorse fry in like... late 2013/early 2014, until I could get proper food going for them, and it worked decently.

      William Jackson yea that instant baby brine didn't workout for me like I thought it would but I was able to get a good batch of clowns going I'll try to do an update on what the babies look like now

  • @PassiveMatt
    @PassiveMatt  10 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think it was somewhere between 50 to 60 that was including shipping because the rodi are live so needed overnight shipping.

    Are you still breeding clowns? How successful have you been?
    Do you just scoop from the roti bucket to add to the fry tank or do you strain the roti's and then add them??

    • @PassiveMatt
      @PassiveMatt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      77blacktrip I strain them I show the tool I used and no I don’t breed them anymore lot of work but definitely cool to watch them grow I kept one baby still have it since I made this video

      @@PassiveMatt great thanks for the info. My clowns are now 1 week old, I have the tank blacked out except from above, do u know when I should remove the blackout? Or do I leave it until I transfer them to the next tank?
      Also when to start a day/night light cycle. I'm still 24hrs light at the moment.
      Thanks!

    You are losing that many because they are hitting air. Never should let air touch the eggs.

      Felipe Ceballos make sure there in a tank by themselves make sure your water is on point and keep those parameters feed them fertility feed and should be good try that and see what happens
